Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 30) ➊ {ذٰلِكَ مَبْلَغُهُمْ مِّنَ الْعِلْمِ: ’’مَبْلَغٌ‘‘ ’’بَلَغَ يَبْلُغُ‘‘} is a ظرف, meaning a place of reaching. The word {’’ ذٰلِكَ ‘‘} is used for belittlement, that the reach and limit of these people’s knowledge is only to this insignificant worldly life, which is both little and unstable compared to the Hereafter. Beyond this, they have neither any knowledge nor are they ready to know or think beyond it. In a supplication narrated from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), these words of his are mentioned: [ وَلاَ تَجْعَلِ الدُّنْيَا أَكْبَرَ هَمِّنَا وَلاَ مَبْلَغَ عِلْمِنَا ] [ ترمذي، الدعوات، باب دعاء { ”اللهم اقسم لنا…“ } : ۳۵۰۲، قال الألباني حسن ] “And do not make the world our greatest concern, nor the limit of our knowledge.”
{اِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ اَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ ضَلَّ عَنْ سَبِيْلِهٖ … :} From this, Allah’s perfect knowledge is established, that He knows all those who are astray from His path and also those who are established upon His path.

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

30. That is the extent of their knowledge [20]. Surely, your Lord knows best who has strayed from His path and who is rightly guided.

What Was the Extent of the Knowledge of the Polytheists of Makkah?

That is, they cannot think beyond their worldly interests. All their knowledge is devoted to the purpose of how to earn more wealth and riches in this world. Yet, even if they think that they alone are on the right path, this decision is neither in their control nor dependent on their discretion; rather, it is Allah's prerogative to decide, because He is the One who created everything in the universe and He alone knows the conditions of His creation best. Therefore, you have no need to get involved in arguments and disputes with them, nor is it your responsibility to ensure that they are guided to the right path.
