Tafsir al-Quran al-Karim is a 4-volume Quran commentary by Hafiz Abdus Salam bin Muhammad Bhutvi, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar and Sheikh ul-Hadith from Pakistan. Based on over 45 years of teaching and research, this tafsir follows the methodology of Tafsir bil-Ma'thur — interpreting the Quran through authentic Hadith, statements of the Companions, and the understanding of the early generations (Salaf). It is distinguished by its complete avoidance of Israeliyyat (Judeo-Christian narratives) and unverified reports. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

(Ayah 61) {قَالُوْا رَبَّنَا مَنْ قَدَّمَ لَنَا هٰذَا …:} When their hearts will not be cooled by this, they will pray to Allah, "O our Lord! Whoever brought this punishment upon us, double the punishment for him in the Fire—one for being astray himself and another for leading us astray," as Allah has said: « وَ قَالَتْ اُوْلٰىهُمْ لِاُخْرٰىهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِنْ فَضْلٍ فَذُوْقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَكْسِبُوْنَ » [ الأعراف : ۳۸ ] "So the later group among them will say about the former group, 'Our Lord! These are the ones who led us astray, so give them a double punishment of the Fire.' He will say, 'For all is double, but you do not know.'" For a similar verse, see Surah Al-Ahzab (67, 68).

Tafsir Ahsan al-Bayan is a well-known Quran commentary by Hafiz Salahuddin Yusuf, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. This tafsir explains the meanings of the Quran in accordance with the methodology of the Salaf (early righteous generations), relying on authentic sources and straightforward language. Due to its reliability and adherence to sound Islamic scholarship, the Saudi government publishes and distributes this tafsir among the Hujjaj (pilgrims) visiting the Haramain. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

61. 1 That is, those who invited us to disbelief and made it appear to us as truth and correctness. Or those who, by calling us towards disbelief, brought this punishment upon us.
61. 2 This is the same thing that has been mentioned at several other places as well, for example Al-A'raf:38) (رَبَّنَآ اٰتِهِمْ ضِعْفَيْنِ مِنَ الْعَذَابِ وَالْعَنْهُمْ لَعْنًا كَبِيْرًا) 33. Al-Ahzab:68).

Tafsir Taiseer ul-Quran (Facilitation of the Quran) is a comprehensive Quran commentary by Maulana Abdul Rahman Kilani, a renowned Salafi (Ahl al-Hadith) scholar from Pakistan. Known for his eloquent and accessible writing style, Kilani authored this tafsir with a focus on clarity — making Quranic meanings understandable to the common reader. The tafsir provides detailed historical context for verses related to battles and expeditions, and firmly refutes modernist ideologies using strong scriptural evidence. It is widely regarded as an invaluable resource for understanding the Quran and countering deviant interpretations. The tafsir is originally written in Urdu, translated to English by tohed.com.

Then they will pray: "Our Lord! Give double the punishment in the Fire to the one who led us to this [61]."

[61] Then this group of followers will turn their attention away from their leaders and will appeal to their Lord, saying: "These are the people who led us astray and were the cause of our coming here into Hell. Therefore, O our Lord, give them double the punishment compared to us." But this plea of theirs will merely be a childish consolation and a way to relieve the longing of their hearts, which will be of no benefit.
