حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " قَرَأَ أَنَّ النَّفْسَ بِالنَّفْسِ وَالْعَيْنَ بِالْعَيْنِ سورة المائدة آية 45 " .
´Narrated Anas bin Malik:` "The Prophet (ﷺ) would recite: 'Anin-nafsu Bin-Nafsi Wal-'Ainu Bil-'Aini'" (From 5:45)
حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى بن يزيد : وهذا حديث حسن غريب ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : تَفَرَّدَ ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، وَهَكَذَا قَرَأَ أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ ، وَالْعَيْنَ بِالْعَيْنِ سورة المائدة آية 45 اتِّبَاعًا لِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ .
Suwaid bin Nasr narrated to us, he said: Abdullah bin Mubarak narrated to us from Yunus bin Yazid, with the same chain, narrated a hadith in the same manner.

"al-'ayn" with a dammah (u-sound) on the letter noon,
while it is being coordinated (conjoined) to "al-nafs", which would require that the noon also be read with a fathah (a-sound).
