حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ الْمَعْنِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْجُمَحِيُّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَفْشُوا السَّلَامَ وَأَطْعِمُوا الطَّعَامَ وَاضْرِبُوا الْهَامَ تُورَثُوا الْجِنَانَ " ، قَالَ : وَفِي الْبَاب عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، وَابْنِ عُمَرَ ، وَأَنَسٍ ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَامٍ ، وَعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَائِشَ ، وَشُرَيْحِ بْنِ هَانِئٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ .
Narrated from Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Spread the greeting of peace and make it common, feed (others), and strike the heads of the disbelievers (i.e., fight jihad against them), you will become heirs of Paradise." 1© Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith, through the narration of Ibn Ziyad from Abu Hurairah, is Hasan Sahih Gharib.
2- In this chapter, hadiths have also been narrated from Abdullah bin Amr, Ibn Umar, Anas, Abdullah bin Salam, Abdur Rahman bin A’ish, and Shuraih bin Hani (may Allah be pleased with them); Shuraih bin Hani narrated from his father.
1- This hadith, through the narration of Ibn Ziyad from Abu Hurairah, is Hasan Sahih Gharib.

Brief Explanation
1؎: All of these actions mentioned in the hadith are such that whoever puts them into practice will become an inheritor of that Paradise which the Lord of all the worlds (Rabb al-‘Alamin) has promised to His pious (muttaqi) servants.

All of the actions mentioned in the hadith are such that whoever puts them into practice will become an inheritor of that Paradise which the Lord of all worlds has promised to His pious servants.

(In the chain of narration, ‘Uthman ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman al-Jum‘i is a weak narrator,
but the portion (Spread peace and feed food) is authentic from other Companions.)
