Hadith 1778

حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ " أَنَّهَا مَشَتْ بِنَعْلٍ وَاحِدَةٍ " ، وَهَذَا أَصَحُّ ، قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى : هَكَذَا رَوَاهُ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ مَوْقُوفًا وَهَذَا أَصَحُّ .
´It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that` she walked wearing a shoe. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This narration is more authentic 1؎,
2- Sufyan Thawri and many others have also narrated this hadith in a mawquf manner through 'Abd al-Rahman bin Qasim, and this mawquf narration is more authentic.

Brief Explanation
1؎ — That is, this mawquf narration of Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah through the chain of ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Qasim is more authentic than the preceding marfu‘ narration of Layth, because in the view of the hadith scholars, Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah is trustworthy (thiqah) and his memory is strong, whereas Layth, in the later part of his life, was weak in terms of his memory.
