Narrated from Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade wearing shoes while standing. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is gharib (strange),
2- Muhammad bin Isma'il Bukhari says: This hadith is not authentic, nor is the hadith of Ma'mar which he narrates from 'Ammar bin Abi 'Ammar and 'Ammar from Abu Hurairah.

Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Dr. Abdur Rahman Freywai
Explanation:

1:
There is this difficulty in wearing shoes while standing that the wearer may sometimes fall, whereas there is more ease in wearing them while sitting. If there is no such difficulty in wearing them while standing, then there is no harm in it.

Note:
(Based on corroborating and supporting narrations, this hadith is also sahih li ghayrihi [authentic due to external evidence], otherwise its narrator Sulaiman is weak.)
