Mazidah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that on the day of the conquest of Makkah, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) entered Makkah and his sword was adorned with gold and silver. Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Dr. Abdur Rahman Freywai
Explanation:
1:
The use of gold or silver on the sword must have been for instilling awe in the enemies; otherwise, how could it be possible for the noble Companions (Sahabah), who held the highest ranks in faith, to use gold or silver as adornment? Due to the strength of their faith, these people were indifferent to all such things.
Note:
(In the chain of narration, "Hud" is considered weak in hadith.)
