Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stayed at Mina during the Farewell Pilgrimage so that people could ask questions. A man came and said, "I did not realize and I shaved my head before offering the sacrifice." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "There is no harm, offer the sacrifice." Another man came and said, "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), I did not realize and I offered the sacrifice before throwing the pebbles." The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "There is no problem, now throw the pebbles." The narrator says that for whatever question was asked regarding precedence or delay (on the 10th of Dhul-Hijjah), the Prophet (ﷺ) said: «افعل ولا حرج» (Do it now, there is no harm).

So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) found that the child clearly resembled Sa‘d’s brother ‘Utbah, but he said: “The child will go to ‘Abd bin Zam‘a because (Islamic law is that) the child belongs to the one on whose bed he is born.” And he ordered Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyida Sawda (may Allah be pleased with her) to observe veil from him.
