Hadith 25

أَنْبَأَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ بْنِ حَكِيمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي يُونُسَ ، مَوْلَى عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : أَمَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ أُمُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنْ أَكْتُبَ لَهَا مُصْحَفًا , قَالَتْ : إِذَا بَلَغْتَ هَذِهِ الآيَةَ فَآذِنِّي : حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى سورة البقرة آية 238 ، قَالَ : فَلَمَّا بَلَغْتُهَا آذَنْتُهَا , فَأَمْلَتْ عَلَيَّ : حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلاةِ الْوُسْطَى وَصَلاةِ الْعَصْرِ وَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ قَانِتِينَ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : سَمِعْتُهَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
Abu Yunus (may Allah have mercy on him), the freed slave of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), narrates: Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) ordered me to write a copy of the Qur’anic manuscript and said: When you reach this verse ﴿Hafizoo 'ala as-salawati was-salatil wusta﴾ [سورة البقرة: 238], inform me. Abu Yunus (may Allah have mercy on him) says: When I reached this verse, I informed her, so the Mother of the Believers (may Allah be pleased with her) dictated to me (this also) «حَافِظُوا عَلَى الصَّلَوَاتِ وَالصَّلَاةِ الْوُسْطَى وَصَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ وَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ قَانِتِينَ» and said: I heard this from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him).
