بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِيمَنْ بَدَأَ بِالْيَمِينِ فِي الطَّلَاقِ وَالْعَتَاقِ قَبْلَ الِاسْتِثْنَاءِChapter on those who begin with an oath in divorce and emancipation before making an exception
Hadith 2981

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: كَانَ شُرَيْحٌ يَقُولُ: «مَتَى بَدَأَ بِالْيَمِينِ فِي الطَّلَاقِ وَالْعَتَاقِ قَبْلَ الْمَثْنَوِيَّةِ فَقَدْ وَقَعَ عَلَيْهِ الطَّلَاقُ وَالْعَتَاقُ»
Hazrat Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "When, in the matters of divorce and freeing a slave, one gives precedence to divorce in an oath, then the divorce will take effect."
