سَعِيدٌ قَالَ: نا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ: نا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي مِجْلَزٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، «أَنَّهُ جَعَلَ لِلزَّوْجِ النِّصْفَ، وَلِلْأُمِّ السُّدُسَ، وَالثُّلُثَ الْبَاقِيَ لِلْإِخْوَةِ مِنَ الْأُمِّ وَأَسْقَطَ الْإِخْوَةَ وَالْأَخَوَاتِ مِنَ الْأَبِ وَالْأُمِّ، وَأَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ أَشْرَكَ بَيْنَهُمْ»
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) gave the husband half, the mother one-sixth, and the remaining portion to the brothers from the mother's side, and deprived the brothers from the father's side, while Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) included everyone.
