In the hadith of Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) it has already passed that (he said): "During the Farewell Hajj, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) visited me in an illness by which I had come to the brink of death." Then he mentioned the (whole) hadith about his bequest.

Amr bin Maymun (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I saw Sayyiduna Umar bin al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) (before he was wounded), and then he narrated the hadith about his being stabbed in Madinah. He said: When he was carried to his house, we were with him. One person said: There is no harm, and another said: We fear for him. Nabidh was brought to him (may Allah be pleased with him) and given to him to drink, and it came out of the wound. Then milk was given to him, and it too came out of the wound, so they realised that he would pass away. Then Amr bin Maymun (may Allah have mercy on him) mentioned the bequest concerning the matter of the Shura (consultation).
