Hadith 3719

نَا نَا ابْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الدَّقِيقِيُّ ، نَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، نَا وَرْقَاءُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، فِي قَوْلِهِ : " إِلا أَنْ يَعْفُونَ سورة البقرة آية 237 ، قَالَ : أَنْ تَعْفُوَ الْمَرْأَةُ أَوْ يَعْفُوَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ عُقْدَةُ النِّكَاحِ الْوَلِيُّ " ،.
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), regarding the statement of Allah Almighty: "Except in the case where the women pardon," Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: That is, the woman pardons, or the person who holds the knot of marriage pardons. Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas says: By this is meant the guardian (wali).
