حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاضِي الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمَحَامِلِيُّ ، وَعَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الدَّقَّاقُ ، قَالا : نا يَعْقُوبُ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، ثنا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ حِزَامٍ ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَرْحٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ وَذَكَرُوا عِنْدَهُ صَدَقَةَ رَمَضَانَ ، فَقَالَ : " لا أُخْرِجُ إِلا مَا كُنْتُ أُخْرِجُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ حِنْطَةٍ ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ " ، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ : أَوْ مُدَّيْنِ مِنْ قَمْحٍ ، قَالَ : " لا تِلْكَ قِيمَةُ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، لا أَقْبَلُهَا وَلا أَعْمَلُ بِهَا " .
This same narration is transmitted with some other chains as well. In one narration, these words are mentioned: People mentioned the charity of Fitr in front of him, so he said: "I will give the same charity of Fitr that I used to give during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him); that is, one sa’ of dates, one sa’ of raisins, one sa’ of wheat, or one sa’ of barley, or one sa’ of cheese." A person from his tribe said to him: "Or two mudd of wheat or flour." So Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "No! This is the price fixed by Sayyiduna Mu’awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him); I will not accept it nor will I act upon it."
