حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ التَّمَّارُ ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْمُعَلَّى ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أبِي ، وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، أَنَّ بَعْضَ الْبَادِيَةِ جَاءُوا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالُوا : هَلْ عَلَيْنَا زَكَاةُ الْفِطْرِ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هِيَ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ صَغِيرٍ أَوْ كَبِيرٍ حُرٍّ ، أَوْ عَبْدٍ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ ، أَوْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ أَقِطٍ " .
Imam Zain al-Abidin, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Imam Husayn, may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: Some Bedouins came to the service of the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and they asked: "Is the payment of Sadaqat al-Fitr obligatory upon us?" The Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, replied: "It is obligatory upon every young and old, free and slave Muslim; it is one sa’ of dates, barley, or raisins."
