حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ شَرِيكٍ ، ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، ثنا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ عَقِيلٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُكَبِّرُ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ فِي الأُولَى سَبْعَ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ ، وَفِي الثَّانِيَةِ بِخَمْسِ تَكْبِيرَاتٍ قَبْلَ الْقِرَاءَةِ " .
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say seven takbirs in the first rak'ah of the Eid prayers and five takbirs in the second rak'ah; he would say these takbirs before reciting (the Qur'an).
