حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، ثنا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَنَّ مَالِكًا أَخْبَرَهُ ، عَنْ ضَمْرَةَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْمَازِنِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ سَأَلَ أَبَا وَاقِدٍ اللَّيْثِيَّ ، مَا كَانَ يَقْرَأُ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْفِطْرِ وَالأَضْحَى ؟ فَقَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْرَأُ بِـ ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ ، وَ اقْتَرَبَتِ السَّاعَةُ وَانْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ " .
Ubaydullah bin Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) asked Sayyiduna Abu Waqid Al-Laythi (may Allah be pleased with him): Which surahs did the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recite in the Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha prayers? He replied: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite Surah Qaf and Surah Iqtarabat.
