نا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ النُّعْمَانِيُّ ، نا أَبُو عُتْبَةَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ ، نا بَقِيَّةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُبَشِّرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي الْحَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَرْطَاةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : " مَرَّ سُرَاقَةُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْمُدْلِجِيُّ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَهُ عَنِ التَّغَوُّطِ ، فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَتَنَكَّبَ الْقِبْلَةَ ، وَلا يَسْتَقْبِلُهَا وَلا يَسْتَدْبِرُهَا ، وَلا يَسْتَقْبِلُ الرِّيحَ وَأَنْ يَسْتَنْجِيَ بِثَلاثَةِ أَحْجَارٍ لَيْسَ فِيهَا رَجِيعٌ ، أَوْ ثَلاثَةِ أَعْوَادٍ ، أَوْ ثَلاثِ حَثَيَاتٍ مِنْ تُرَابٍ " . لَمْ يَرْوِهِ غَيْرُ مُبَشِّرِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ . وَهُوَ مَتْرُوكُ الْحَدِيثِ.
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Once Suraqah bin Malik al-Mudlaji passed by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and asked him about the manner of relieving oneself. The Prophet (peace be upon him) instructed him: "He should sit away from the direction of the Qiblah, neither facing it nor turning his back to it, and he should not face the direction from which the wind is blowing. He should perform istinja with three stones, in which there is no dung, or with three pieces of wood, or with three clods of earth."
