ثنا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ دَلِيلٍ الإِخْبَارِيُّ ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمُّ أَبِي الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي مُوسَى بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ الْحُسَيْنِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَيْفَ تَقْرَأُ إِذْ قُمْتَ إِلَى الصَّلاةِ ؟ " قُلْتُ : الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ، فَقَالَ : " قُلْ : بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ " .
Imam Abu Ja'far Sadiq (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father Imam Baqir (may Allah have mercy on him), who narrates from his father Imam Zain al-Abidin (may Allah have mercy on him), who narrates from his father Imam Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him), the following statement of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "When you stand for prayer, how do you recite?" I replied: I recite 'Alhamdu lillahi Rabbil 'alamin.' The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You should recite 'Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.'"
