Ibn Muhairiz said: I asked Sayyiduna Abu Jum'ah (may Allah be pleased with him), who was a Companion: "Narrate to us a hadith which you heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." He said: "Listen! I will tell you a very good hadith. We ate lunch with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at noon, and Sayyiduna Abu Ubaidah bin Al-Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was with us. He said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Can anyone be better than us? We accepted Islam and fought in jihad with you.' He replied: 'Yes, (better than you are) those people who will come after you and will believe in me even though they have not seen me.'"
