It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever treads a path in search of knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for him through it, and whoever is slowed down by his deeds, his lineage will not speed him up."
´Narrated Abu Hurairah:` that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever takes a path upon which to obtain knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for him."

Explanation: 1: The virtue of knowledge is established from this hadith. It is understood that traveling for the acquisition of knowledge is recommended (mustahabb). Musa (alayhis salam) traveled with Khidr (alayhis salam) to acquire knowledge. And Jabir bin Abdullah (radi Allahu anhu) undertook a journey of one month to learn a hadith from Abdullah bin Qais (radi Allahu anhu). The scholars of the Salaf used to travel long distances in pursuit of hadith. If one strives to acquire Islamic knowledge (ilm shar‘i) with sincerity of intention, Allah, Lord of the worlds, makes the path to Paradise easy for him.

Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet ﷺ as saying: If anyone pursues a path in search of knowledge, Allah will thereby make easy for him a path to paradise; and he who is made slow by his actions will not be speeded by his genealogy.

Benefits and Issues: Benefit: Knowledge is not merely the name of reading and knowing. Rather, it is necessary that one also acts in accordance with it. Otherwise, no benefit will be gained from familial affiliations.
