أَخْبَرَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ بَهْدَلَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَحْوَهُ.
With this chain as well, it is narrated similarly from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him).
Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadiths 2878 to 2880)
The cause of the intensity of heat and cold, as mentioned above in the authentic hadith, is among the hidden causes (asbab-e-batiniyyah) about which we have been informed by the one who did not speak from his own desire, and whose statements are never incorrect or unreliable «(عليه الصلاة والسلام)». Therefore, it is obligatory and necessary for all Muslims to accept this, and it is also obligatory to refrain from delving deeply or probing into it. The characteristic of a believer is that he says, “We have believed and affirmed.” Those who measure hidden and unseen matters by their limited intellect gain nothing but loss and ruin. Therefore, regarding the realm of Barzakh, the Hereafter, Hell, and Paradise—all the descriptions that have come in whatever words in the Qur’an and Hadith—accepting them in their apparent (zahir) meaning and then remaining silent is the hallmark of the people of faith. These are the ones who are «راسخين فى العلم» and, in the sight of Allah, truly intelligent.
«جعلنا اللّٰه وإياكم منهم», Ameen.
