Hadith 2546

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Adi bin Hamra Zuhri (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) at Jazurah (the name of a place in Makkah) on his mount, and he was saying: "By Allah, (O Makkah) you are the best of Allah’s land and the most beloved of Allah’s land to Allah. If I had not been driven out from you, I would not have left (rather, I would have remained in Makkah)."

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 2545)

Every person has love and attachment for his homeland, his place of birth; this is a natural matter.
The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam also had great affection and love for Makkah, but due to the oppression and persecution of the polytheists of Makkah, and their coercion and compulsion, he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was forced to migrate and leave Makkah. This is what he sallallahu alayhi wa sallam expressed in the aforementioned hadith.
From this, it is understood that Makkah and Bayt Allah al-Haram are the most virtuous parts of the earth and are the most beloved to Allah. For this reason, one prayer in Masjid al-Haram is a hundred thousand times greater than in other mosques.
