Hadith 1967

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) placed his foot in the stirrup near the mosque at Dhul-Hulaifah, and his she-camel stood up straight carrying him, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) recited the Talbiyah.

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 1966)

There is a difference of opinion among the noble Companions (radi Allahu anhum) regarding when the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) pronounced the talbiyah after entering the state of ihram. The reason for this difference is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (radi Allahu anhuma). He said: When the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) finished the prayer, he pronounced the talbiyah; some Companions heard this and remembered it. Then, when he mounted his camel, he pronounced the talbiyah; some Companions heard this and remembered it. Then, when he reached the elevation of the plain, he pronounced the talbiyah; some Companions heard this and said that he pronounced the talbiyah at that time.

It is stated in Abu Dawud: In reality, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) pronounced the talbiyah right after performing the two rak‘ahs (of prayer).
