Hadith 1963

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered into the state of Ihram for both Hajj and Umrah. The narrator Bakr said: Then I met Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) and informed him about the statement of Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) entered into the state of Ihram for Hajj. Then I went back to Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) and informed him of what Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) had said. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) considers us to be children.

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Ahadith 1961 to 1963)

In the narration of al-Nasa’i, it is stated: “Do you consider us to be children? I myself heard the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) saying «لبيك عمره و حجًا معًا».”

The purpose of mentioning this hadith, according to Imam al-Darimi rahimahullah, is to show that the Noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) entered into the state of ihram with the intention of performing Hajj Qiran. Therefore, this hadith supports the statement and action of Sayyiduna Ali (radi Allahu anhu), the details of which have already been mentioned previously.
