Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Ever since I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) kissing and touching these two corners (the Black Stone and the Yemeni Corner), I have never left it, whether in ease or hardship. Ubaidullah said: I asked Nafi’: Did Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) walk between these two corners? Nafi’ said: He used to walk so that it would be easier for him to touch them.

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadith 1875)
Kissing or touching the Black Stone (Hajar al-Aswad) during circumambulation (tawaf) is a Sunnah, and touching the Yemeni Corner (Rukn Yamani) is also a Sunnah, but kissing it is not. And Sayyiduna Ibn Umar radi Allahu anhuma was so devoted to the Sunnah of the Messenger sallallahu alayhi wa sallam that he would not deviate from the Sunnah in the slightest, as is mentioned in the hadith.
