From the aforementioned hadith, the evidence is found for combining Maghrib and Isha prayers at Muzdalifah with one takbir (iqamah). However, from other authentic narrations, the evidence is established for performing the two prayers with one adhan and two iqamahs (takbir), which is the preferred view. Also, it is established that between the two prayers there is only the takbir (iqamah); performing sunnah or nafl (supererogatory) prayers in between is not proven.
Furthermore, it is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud radi Allahu anhu that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam combined the two prayers only at Muzdalifah. However, deducing from this is also not correct, because from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud radi Allahu anhu himself, the opposite is also narrated. Moreover, in the previous chapter, the evidence for combining the two prayers during the Battle of Tabuk and other occasions has already been mentioned.
