The scribe of Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him), Warid, said that Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) had me write a letter for Sayyiduna Mu’awiyah (may Allah be pleased with him) stating that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recite this supplication after every obligatory prayer. (Up to «لا اله الا الله ... منك الجد») “There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, He is alone, He has no partner, sovereignty belongs to Him and all praise is for Him, and He is powerful over everything. O Allah! There is none who can withhold what You give, and none who can give what You withhold, and the wealth of the wealthy will not benefit them in Your presence.”

Brief Explanation
(Commentary on Hadiths 1384 to 1387)
From these hadiths, it is established that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, after concluding the prayer with salam, while sitting facing the qiblah, would recite istighfar (seeking forgiveness) three times, then say «اَللّٰهُمَّأَنْتَالسَّلَامُ», and after that, he would turn to face the congregation. Then, he would recite the subsequent adhkar «لَاإِلٰهَإِلَّااللّٰهُ», such as tasbih (saying "SubhanAllah"), tahleel (saying "La ilaha illallah"), and takbeer (saying "Allahu Akbar"), recite Ayat al-Kursi, Surah al-Ikhlas, and the Mu'awwidhatayn (Surah al-Falaq and Surah an-Nas), and would remain seated for a long time, making supplications and adhkar, as will be mentioned further ahead.
In these hadiths, there is no evidence of raising the hands for supplication after the prayer. Also, in the authentic narrations, it is reported only up to «اَللّٰهُمَّأَنْتَالسَّلَامُوَمِنْكَالسَّلَامُتَبَارَكْتَيَاذَالْجَلَالِوَالْإِكْرَامِ.»; the addition of «وَإِلَيْكَيَرْجَعُالسَّلَامُوَادْخِلْنَادَارُالسَّلَامُ» after «وَمِنْكَالسَّلَامُ» and its regular practice is not transmitted or established from any authentic chain. It is an addition from oneself, which should be abandoned.
