Hadith 1887
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Nubaisha al-Hudhali (may Allah be pleased with him), he says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "We had forbidden you from eating (the meat of sacrificial animals) after storing it for more than three days, so that everyone could get some. Now Allah Almighty has brought prosperity and abundance, so you may store it and benefit from it. Be aware! Indeed, these are the days of eating, drinking, and remembering Allah, the Mighty and Majestic."
Hadith 1889
- (كُلُوهُ من ذِي الحجَّةِ إلى ذي الحجَّةِ. يعني: لحمَ الأضاحي) .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade visiting graves, (the use of four types of) vessels, and storing the meat of sacrificial animals for more than three days. But (after some time) he said: "Indeed, I had forbidden you from visiting graves, but (now I command you) visit them, for they remind of the Hereafter. And I had forbidden you from (some) vessels, but (now I command you) use them for drinks, and avoid everything that intoxicates. And I had forbidden you from storing the meat of sacrificial animals for more than three days, but (now I say) keep the meat with you for as long as you wish."
Hadith 1890
- " كنت نهيتكم عن لحوم الأضاحي فوق ثلاث ليتسع ذو الطول على من لا طول له، فكلوا ما بدا لكم، وأطعموا وادخروا ".
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) says that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came to us upon returning from a journey. We presented him with some (meat left over from the sacrifice) so that he might eat, but he said: I will not eat it until I ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about it. Then Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “You may eat (the meat of the sacrifices) from this Dhul-Hijjah until the next Dhul-Hijjah.”
