Sayyiduna Bara bin Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would lie down on his bed, he would lie on his right side and recite this supplication: "O Allah! I have submitted my soul to You, turned my face towards You, entrusted my affairs to You, and leaned my back upon You, desiring You and fearing You. There is no refuge and no escape from You except to You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also said: "Whoever says these words and dies that night, he will die upon the natural religion of Islam."
