(340) بَابُ أَمْرِ النِّسَاءِ بِالتَّصْفِيقِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ عِنْدَ النَّائِبَةِ
340 Chapter: Command for Women to Clap in Prayer When Something Happens.
Hadith 893
Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I have written down this hadith from Sayyiduna Sahl bin Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) that when something occurs during the prayer, men should say « سُبْحَانَ اللَٰه » and women should clap their hands.
Hadith 894
نَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، قَالَ عَلِيٌّ : أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، قَالَ الآخَرُونَ : ثنا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " التَّسْبِيحُ لِلرِّجَالِ ، وَالتَّصْفِيقُ لِلنِّسَاءِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Saying « سُبْحَانَ اللَٰه » is for men and clapping is for women.”
