Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Anis (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I submitted, "O Messenger of Allah, I live in a village and, by the grace of Allah, I also offer prayers there. So command me regarding a night on which I should come to this mosque and offer prayer (i.e., in Masjid Nabawi)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Come on the twenty-third night." Muhammad bin Ibrahim says that I asked the son of Abdullah, "How did your esteemed father use to do?" He replied, "He would enter Masjid Nabawi after offering the Asr prayer and would not leave until he had performed the Fajr prayer. Then he would leave the mosque, and his mount would be at the door of the mosque, so he would ride it and go to his family."
