Sayyiduna Abu Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, “Indeed, I stay behind from the morning prayer because of so-and-so, as he leads us in a very lengthy prayer.” I have never seen the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) more angry in giving advice than he was that day. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “O people, indeed some of you make others dislike (the prayer). So whoever among you leads the people in prayer, let him make it light, for among them are the weak, the elderly, and those with needs.” This is the narration of Bundar.
