(562) بَابُ صَلَاةِ التَّطَوُّعِ فِي السَّفَرِ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْمَكْتُوبَةِThe chapter on voluntary prayer during travel before the obligatory prayer
Hadith 1255
حَدَّثَنَا بُنْدَارٌ ، نَا يَحْيَى ، نَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سُرَاقَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لا يُصَلِّي قَبْلَهَا وَلا بَعْدَهَا فِي السَّفَرِ "
Abdullah bin Saraqah narrates that I heard Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) saying: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) during a journey, and he would not perform (nafl) prayers before or after the obligatory prayer.
