Hadith 5710

أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلانَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لا يَقُولَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ : قَبَّحَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَكُ ، وَوَجْهَ مَنْ أَشْبَهَ وَجْهَكَ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَ آدَمَ عَلَى صُورَتِهِ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : يُرِيدُ بِهِ عَلَى صُورَةِ الَّذِي قِيلَ لَهُ : قَبَّحَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَكَ مِنْ وَلَدِهِ ، وَالدَّلِيلُ عَلَى أَنَّ الْخَطَّابَ لِبَنِي آدَمَ دُونَ غَيْرِهِمْ قَوْلُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَوَجْهَ مَنْ أَشْبَهَ وَجْهَكَ " ، لأَنَّ وَجْهَ آدَمَ فِي الصُّورَةِ تُشْبِهُ صُورَةَ وَلَدِهِ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No person should ever say, 'May Allah disfigure your face and the face that resembles your face,' because Allah the Exalted created Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) in His own image."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) What is meant here is the appearance of the person to whom it was said: 'May Allah disfigure your face,' who is from the offspring of Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him). And the evidence that the address here is to the children of Adam and not to anyone else is the statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "And the face that resembles your face," because the face of Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) resembles the appearance of his children."
(Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) What is meant here is the appearance of the person to whom it was said: 'May Allah disfigure your face,' who is from the offspring of Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him).
