668/865 عن عبد الله بن عمرو قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : " الشعر بمنزلة الكلام، حسنه كحسن الكلام، وقبيحه كقبيح الكلام".
668/865 From Abdullah ibn Amr who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Poetry is like speech; its good is like good speech, and its bad is like bad speech."

669/866 عن عائشة رضي الله عنها؛ أنها كانت تقول: " الشعر منه حسن ومنه قبيح، خذ بالحسن ودع القبيح، ولقد رويت من شعر كعب بن مالك أشعاراً، منها القصيدة فيها أربعون بيتاً، ودون ذلك".
669/866 From Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her; she used to say: "Poetry, some of it is good and some of it is bad. Take what is good and leave what is bad. Indeed, I have memorized from the poetry of Ka'b ibn Malik poems, among them a poem containing forty verses, and less than that."

670/867 عن شريح قال : قلت لعائشة رضي الله عنه: أكان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يتمثل بشيء من الشعر؟ فقالت: كان يتمثل بشيء من شعر عبد الله بن رواحة : " ويأتيك بالأخبار من لم تزود"(1).
670/867 From Shurayh who said: I said to Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her: Did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, ever recite any poetry? She said: He used to recite some lines of poetry by Abdullah ibn Rawaha: "And news will be brought to you by one whom you did not supply."(1).
