Hadith 12
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " الْفِطْرَةُ قَصُّ الْأَظْفَارِ وَأَخْذُ الشَّارِبِ وَحَلْقُ الْعَانَةِ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` "The deeds connected to the Fitrah are: Clipping the nails, removing the mustache and shaving the pubes."
Hadith 15
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى هُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَحْفُوا الشَّوَارِبَ وَأَعْفُوا اللِّحَى " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` "Trim the mustache and let the beard grow."
Hadith 37
أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ ، وَقَبِيصَةُ ، قَالَا : أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " مَرَّ رَجُلٌ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَبُولُ فَسَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِ ، فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "A man passed by the Prophet (ﷺ) when he was urinating and greeted him with Salam, but he did not return his greeting."
Hadith 71
أَخْبَرَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، ح وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ ، قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " كَانَ الرِّجَالُ وَالنِّسَاءُ يَتَوَضَّئُونَ فِي زَمَانِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَمِيعًا " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "Men and women used to perform Wudu' together during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)."
Hadith 260
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ ، قال : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيَنَامُ أَحَدُنَا وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ ؟ قَالَ : " إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ " .
´It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Umar that 'Umar said:` "O Messenger of Allah! May any one of us sleep while he is Junub?" He said: "When he performs Wudu'."
Hadith 343
أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " كَانَ الرِّجَالُ وَالنِّسَاءُ يَتَوَضَّئُونَ فِي زَمَانِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَمِيعًا " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "Men and women used to perform Wudu' together during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)."
Hadith 422
أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ هُوَ ابْنُ سَمَاعَةَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، وَعَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْغُسْلِ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ ، وَاتَّسَقَتِ الْأَحَادِيثُ عَلَى هَذَا : " يَبْدَأُ فَيُفْرِغُ عَلَى يَدِهِ الْيُمْنَى مَرَّتَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثًا ، ثُمَّ يُدْخِلُ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى فِي الْإِنَاءِ فَيَصُبُّ بِهَا عَلَى فَرْجِهِ وَيَدُهُ الْيُسْرَى عَلَى فَرْجِهِ فَيَغْسِلُ مَا هُنَالِكَ حَتَّى يُنْقِيَهُ ، ثُمَّ يَضَعُ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى عَلَى التُّرَابِ إِنْ شَاءَ ، ثُمَّ يَصُبُّ عَلَى يَدِهِ الْيُسْرَى حَتَّى يُنْقِيَهَا ، ثُمَّ يَغْسِلُ يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا وَيَسْتَنْشِقُ وَيُمَضْمِضُ وَيَغْسِلُ وَجْهَهُ وَذِرَاعَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا ، حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَ رَأْسَهُ لَمْ يَمْسَحْ وَأَفْرَغَ عَلَيْهِ الْمَاءَ " . فَهَكَذَا كَانَ غُسْلُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيمَا ذُكِرَ .
´It was narrated from Abu Salamah from 'Aishah, and, from 'Amr bin Sa'd, from Nafi', from Ibn 'Umar:` That 'Umar asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about Ghusl from Janabah - and the narrations agree on this - that one should start by pouring water on the right hand two or three times, then put the right hand into the vessel and pour water with it onto the private parts, with the left hand on the private parts to wash off whatever is there, until it is clean; then put the left hand on the dust if one wants to, then pour water over the left hand until it is clean; then wash the hands three times, (sniff water into the nose) and rinse the mouth, and wash the face and forearms, three times each until when reaching the head, he does not wipe the head, rather he pours water over it. This is how the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed Ghusl according to what was mentioned.
Hadith 538
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : مَكَثْنَا ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ نَنْتَظِرُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ ، فَخَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا حِينَ ذَهَبَ ثُلُثُ اللَّيْلِ أَوْ بَعْدَهُ ، فَقَالَ حِينَ خَرَجَ : " إِنَّكُمْ تَنْتَظِرُونَ صَلَاةً مَا يَنْتَظِرُهَا أَهْلُ دِينٍ غَيْرُكُمْ ، وَلَوْلَا أَنْ يَثْقُلَ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَصَلَّيْتُ بِهِمْ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ " . ثُمَّ أَمَرَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ فَأَقَامَ ثُمَّ صَلَّى .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "We stayed in the Masjid one night waiting for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to pray 'Isha'. He came out to us when one-third of the night or more had passed, and he said when he came out: 'You are waiting for a prayer for which the followers of no other religion are waiting. Were it not that I would impose too much difficulty on my Ummah, I would have led them in prayer at this time.' Then he commanded the Mu'adhdhin to say the Iqamah and he prayed."
Hadith 564
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا يَتَحَرَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فَيُصَلِّيَ عِنْدَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَعِنْدَ غُرُوبِهَا " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` "No one of you should deliberately try to pray when the sun is rising, or when it is setting."
Hadith 565
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا خَالِدٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْ يُصَلَّى مَعَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ أَوْ غُرُوبِهَا " .
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade praying when the sun is rising or setting.
Hadith 584
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ نَافِعًا ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قالت : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ لَا يُصَلِّي إِلَّا رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that Hafsah said:` "When the dawn appears, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would only pray two short Rak'ahs."
Hadith 596
أَخْبَرَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جَابِرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ ، قال : خَرَجْتُ مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ فِي سَفَرٍ يُرِيدُ أَرْضًا فَأَتَاهُ آتٍ ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ لِمَا بِهَا ، فَانْظُرْ أَنْ تُدْرِكَهَا ، فَخَرَجَ مُسْرِعًا وَمَعَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يُسَايِرُهُ وَغَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ الصَّلَاةَ ، وَكَانَ عَهْدِي بِهِ وَهُوَ يُحَافِظُ عَلَى الصَّلَاةِ ، فَلَمَّا أَبْطَأَ ، قُلْتُ : الصَّلَاةَ يَرْحَمُكَ اللَّهُ ، فَالْتَفَتَ إِلَيَّ وَمَضَى حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ فِي آخِرِ الشَّفَقِ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ ، ثُمَّ أَقَامَ الْعِشَاءَ وَقَدْ تَوَارَى الشَّفَقُ ، فَصَلَّى بِنَا ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا عَجِلَ بِهِ السَّيْرُ صَنَعَ هَكَذَا " .
´Nafi' said:` "I went out with 'Abdullah bin 'Umar on a journey to some of his land. Then someone came to him and said: 'Safiyyah bint Abi 'Ubaid is sick, try to get there before it is too late.' He set out quickly, accompanied by a man of the Quraish. The sun set but he did not pray, although I knew him to be very careful about praying on time. When he slowed down I said: 'The prayer, may Allah have mercy on you.' He turned to me but carried on until the twilight was almost gone, then he stopped and prayed Maghrib, then he said the Iqamah for 'Isha', at that time the twilight had totally disappeared and led us in prayer. Then he turned to us and said: 'If the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was in a hurry to travel he would do this.'"
Hadith 597
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَطَّافُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، قال : أَقْبَلْنَا مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ تِلْكَ اللَّيْلَةُ سَارَ بِنَا حَتَّى أَمْسَيْنَا فَظَنَنَّا أَنَّهُ نَسِيَ الصَّلَاةَ ، فَقُلْنَا لَهُ : الصَّلَاةَ ، فَسَكَتَ " وَسَارَ حَتَّى كَادَ الشَّفَقُ أَنْ يَغِيبَ ، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ فَصَلَّى ، وَغَابَ الشَّفَقُ فَصَلَّى الْعِشَاءَ ، ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا ، فَقَالَ : هَكَذَا كُنَّا نَصْنَعُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا جَدَّ بِهِ السَّيْرُ " .
´It was narrated that Nafi' said:` "We came back with Ibn 'Umar from Makkah. One night he kept on travelling until evening came, and we thought that he had forgotten the prayer!' But he kept quiet and kept going until the twilight had almost disappeared, then he stopped and prayed, and when the twilight disappeared he prayed 'Isha'. Then he turned to us and said: This is what we used to do with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) if he was in a hurry to travel.'"
Hadith 599
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ " إِذَا جَدَّ بِهِ السَّيْرُ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ " .
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that if the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was in a hurry to travel, he would combine Maghrib and 'Isha'.
Hadith 600
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا جَدَّ بِهِ السَّيْرُ أَوْ حَزَبَهُ أَمْرٌ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "If the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was in a hurry to travel, or some emergency arose, he would combine Maghrib and 'Isha'."
Hadith 627
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، قال : قال ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ : " كَانَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ حِينَ قَدِمُوا الْمَدِينَةَ يَجْتَمِعُونَ فَيَتَحَيَّنُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَلَيْسَ يُنَادِي بِهَا أَحَدٌ ، فَتَكَلَّمُوا يَوْمًا فِي ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ : اتَّخِذُوا نَاقُوسًا مِثْلَ نَاقُوسِ النَّصَارَى ، وَقَالَ بَعْضَهُمْ : بَلْ قَرْنًا مِثْلَ قَرْنِ الْيَهُودِ ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَوَلَا تَبْعَثُونَ رَجُلًا يُنَادِي بِالصَّلَاةِ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا بِلَالُ ، قُمْ فَنَادِ بِالصَّلَاةِ " .
´Nafi' narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar used to say:` "When the Muslims arrived in Al-Madinah they used to gather and try to figure out the time for prayer, and no one gave the call to prayer. One day they spoke about that; some of them said: 'Let us use a bell like the Christians do;' others said, 'No, a horn like the Jews have.' 'Umar, may ,Allah be pleased with him, said: 'Why don't you send a man to announce the time of prayer?' The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said: 'O Bilal, get up and give the call to prayer.'"
Hadith 655
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَذَّنَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ ذَاتِ بَرْدٍ وَرِيحٍ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَا صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ ، فَإِنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ إِذَا كَانَتْ لَيْلَةٌ بَارِدَةٌ ذَاتُ مَطَرٍ ، يَقُولُ : " أَلَا صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ " .
´It was narrated from Nafi' that Ibn 'Umar gave a call to prayer on a cold and windy night, and he said:` "Pray where you are, for the Prophet (S.A.W)used to order the Mu'adhdhin, if it was a cold and rainy night, to say: 'Pray in your dwellings.'"
Hadith 692
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنَّ مَيْمُونَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : مَنْ صَلَّى فِي مَسْجِدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ؟ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " الصَّلَاةُ فِيهِ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ فِيمَا سِوَاهُ ، إِلَّا مَسْجِدَ الْكَعْبَةِ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that Maimunah the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` "Whoever prays in the Masjid of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (that is good), for I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ' One prayer offered there is better than a thousand prayers offered elsewhere, except the Masjid of the Ka'bah.'"
Hadith 723
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ " يَنَامُ وَهُوَ شَابٌّ عَزْبٌ لَا أَهْلَ لَهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَسْجِدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar, that when he was young and single, with no family, at the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he used to sleep in the Masjid of the Prophet (ﷺ).
Hadith 725
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى بُصَاقًا فِي جِدَارِ الْقِبْلَةِ فَحَكَّهُ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ ، فَقَالَ : " إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ يُصَلِّي فَلَا يَبْصُقَنَّ قِبَلَ وَجْهِهِ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قِبَلَ وَجْهِهِ إِذَا صَلَّى " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw some sputum on the Qiblah wall. He scrapped it off then he turned to the people and said:` "When any one of you is praying, let him not spit in front of him, for Allah is in front of him when he prays."
Hadith 748
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ " يَرْكُزُ الْحَرْبَةَ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي إِلَيْهَا " .
´Narrated Ibn Umar:` It was narrated from Ibn Umar concerning the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) he said: "He used to set up a short spear then pray facing toward it."
Hadith 750
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً ، عَلَيْهُ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، وَبِلَالٌ ، وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ الْحَجَبِيُّ فَأَغْلَقَهَا عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ : فَسَأَلْتُ بِلَالًا حِينَ خَرَجَ : " مَاذَا صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : جَعَلَ عَمُودًا عَنْ يَسَارِهِ وَعَمُودَيْنِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَثَلَاثَةَ أَعْمِدَةٍ وَرَاءَهُ ، وَكَانَ الْبَيْتُ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى سِتَّةِ أَعْمِدَةٍ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْجِدَارِ نَحْوًا مِنْ ثَلَاثَةِ أَذْرُعٍ " .
´Narrated Abdullah bin Umar:` It was narrated from Abdullah bin Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered the Ka'bah with Usamah bin Zaid, Bilal and Uthman bin Talha al Hajabi, and locked the door behind him. Abdullah bin Umar said: "I asked Bilal when he came out: " What did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) do?" He said: "He stood with one pillar to his left, two pillars to his right and three pillars behind him - at that time the House stood on six pillars - and he prayed with approximately three forearm's length between him and the wall."
Hadith 838
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " صَلَاةُ الْجَمَاعَةِ تَفْضُلُ عَلَى صَلَاةِ الْفَذِّ بِسَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ دَرَجَةً " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` "Praying in congregation is twenty-seven times better than praying alone."
Hadith 874
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَبَعْدَهَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَكَانَ يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فِي بَيْتِهِ وَبَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَكَانَ لَا يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْجُمْعَةِ حَتَّى يَنْصَرِفَ فَيُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray two Rak'ahs before Zuhr and two afterward, and he used to pray two Rak'ahs after Maghrib in his house, and two Rak'ahs after 'Isha', and he did not pray after Jumu'ah until he departed (from the Masjid), then he would pray two Rak'ahs at home."
Hadith 943
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَثَلُ صَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ كَمَثَلِ الْإِبِلِ الْمُعَقَّلَةِ إِذَا عَاهَدَ عَلَيْهَا أَمْسَكَهَا وَإِنْ أَطْلَقَهَا ذَهَبَتْ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn Umar that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The one who learns the Quran is like the owner of a hobbled camel. If he pays attention to it, he will keep it, but if he releases it, it will go away."
Hadith 1045
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حُنَيْنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قال : " نَهَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ لُبْسِ الْقَسِّيِّ وَالْمُعَصْفَرِ وَعَنْ تَخَتُّمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرُّكُوعِ " .
´It was narrated that Ali said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade me from wearing Al-Qassi, and clothes dyed from safflower, and from wearing gold rings, and from reciting Qura'n while bowing."
Hadith 1093
أَخْبَرَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ دَلُّوَيْهِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَفَعَهُ ، قال : " إِنَّ الْيَدَيْنِ تَسْجُدَانِ كَمَا يَسْجُدُ الْوَجْهُ فَإِذَا وَضَعَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَجْهَهُ فَلْيَضَعْ يَدَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَفَعَهُ فَلْيَرْفَعْهُمَا " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar in a Marfu' report that:` The hands prostrate as the face prostrates, so when one of you puts his face down he should put his hands down, and when he raises (the face) he should raise (the hands) too.
Hadith 1270
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ إِذَا جَلَسَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَضَعَ يَدَيْهِ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ , وَرَفَعَ أُصْبُعَهُ الَّتِي تَلِي الْإِبْهَامَ , فَدَعَا بِهَا وَيَدُهُ الْيُسْرَى عَلَى رُكْبَتِهِ بَاسِطُهَا عَلَيْهَا " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that:` When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sat during the prayer, he put his hands on his knees and raised the finger that is next to the thumb, and supplicates with it, and his left hand was on his knee laid on it.
Hadith 1352
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ أَبُو زُرْعَةَ الرَّازِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْفُضَيْلِ بْنِ عِيَاضٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا رَأَى فِيمَا يَرَى النَّائِمُ , قِيلَ لَهُ : بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ أَمَرَكُمْ نَبِيُّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : أَمَرَنَا أَنْ نُسَبِّحَ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ , وَنَحْمَدَ ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ , وَنُكَبِّرَ أَرْبَعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ فَتِلْكَ مِائَةٌ , قَالَ : سَبِّحُوا خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ , وَاحْمَدُوا خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ , وَكَبِّرُوا خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ , وَهَلِّلُوا خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ , وَاحْمَدُوا خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ , وَكَبِّرُوا خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ وَهَلِّلُوا خَمْسًا وَعِشْرِينَ فَتِلْكَ مِائَةٌ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ ذَكَرَ ذَلِك للنَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " افْعَلُوا كَمَا قَالَ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that :` A man saw in a dream that it was said to him: "What does your Prophet (ﷺ) command you to do?" He said: "He commanded us to say Tasbih thirty-three times following the prayer, and to say the tahmid thirty-three times, and to say the takbir thirty-four times, and that makes one-hundred." He said: Say the tasbih twenty-five times and say the tahmid twenty-five times and say the takbir twenty-five times and say the tahlil twenty-five times, and that will make one hundred." The following morning he told the Prophet (ﷺ) about that and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Do what the Ansari said."
Hadith 1372
أَخْبَرَنِي مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ ، عَنْ عَيَّاشِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنْ بُكَيْرِ بْنِ الْأَشَجِّ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " رَوَاحُ الْجُمُعَةِ وَاجِبٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُحْتَلِمٍ " .
´It was narrated from Hafsah, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) that:` The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Going to Jumu'ah is obligatory for everyone who has reached the age of puberty.'"
Hadith 1377
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْجُمُعَةَ فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "When any one of you wants to come to Jumu'ah prayer, let him perform ghusl."
Hadith 1383
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَأَى حُلَّةً , فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , لَوِ اشْتَرَيْتَ هَذِهِ فَلَبِسْتَهَا يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَلِلْوَفْدِ إِذَا قَدِمُوا عَلَيْكَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذِهِ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ فِي الْآخِرَةِ " ، ثُمَّ جَاءَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِثْلُهَا فَأَعْطَى عُمَرَ مِنْهَا حُلَّةً , فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , كَسَوْتَنِيهَا وَقَدْ قُلْتَ فِي حُلَّةِ عُطَارِدٍ مَا قُلْتَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَمْ أَكْسُكَهَا لِتَلْبَسَهَا " , فَكَسَاهَا عُمَرُ أَخًا لَهُ مُشْرِكًا بِمَكَّةَ .
´It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Umar that :` 'Umar bin al-Khattab saw a Hullah and said: "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), why don't you buy this and wear it on Fridays and when meeting the delegations when they come to you?" The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "This is worn by one who has no share in the Hereafter." Then something similar was brought to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he gave a Hullah to 'Umar from it. 'Umar said: "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), have you given me this when you said what you said about the Hullah of 'Utarid?" The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "I have not given it to you to wear it." So 'Umar gave it to an idolator brother of his in Makkah.
Hadith 1406
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : خَطَبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ : " إِذَا رَاحَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ فَلْيَغْتَسِلْ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) delivered a khutbah and said: 'When any one of you wants to go to Jumu'ah, let him perform ghusl.'"
Hadith 1417
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ الْخُطْبَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ وَكَانَ يَفْصِلُ بَيْنَهُمَا بِجُلُوسٍ " .
´It was narrated from 'Abdullah that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to deliver two khutbahs standing, and he would separate them by sitting.
Hadith 1428
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ لَا يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ حَتَّى يَنْصَرِفَ فَيُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would not pray after Jumu'ah until he had left, then he would pray two rak'ahs. (Sahih)
Hadith 1430
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ هَارُونَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ يُطِيلُ فِيهِمَا , وَيَقُولُ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَفْعَلُهُ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that he used to pray two rak'ahs after Jumu'ah, making them lengthy, and he said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to do this."
Hadith 1451
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِنًى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَمَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، وَمَعَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "I prayed two rak'ahs with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in Mina, and two rak'ahs with Abu Bakr, may Allah (SWT) be pleased with him, and two rak'ahs with Umar, may Allah (ﷺ) be pleased with him."
Hadith 1543
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ وَاصِلِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ فِي بَعْضِ أَيَّامِهِ فَقَامَتْ طَائِفَةٌ مَعَهُ وَطَائِفَةٌ بِإِزَاءِ الْعَدُوِّ ، فَصَلَّى بِالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ رَكْعَةً , ثُمَّ ذَهَبُوا وَجَاءَ الْآخَرُونَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ قَضَتِ الطَّائِفَتَانِ رَكْعَةً رَكْعَةً " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offered the fear prayer during one of his battles. One group stood with him and another group faced the enemy. He led those who were with him in praying one rak'ah, then they went away and the others came, and he led them in praying one rak'ah. Then each group made up one rak'ah."
Hadith 1565
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا كَانُوا يُصَلُّونَ الْعِيدَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْخُطْبَةِ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Abu Bakr, 'Umar, may Allah (SWT) be pleased with them, used to offer the 'Eid prayer before the Khutbah.
Hadith 1566
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُخْرِجُ الْعَنَزَةَ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَيَوْمَ الْأَضْحَى يُرْكِزُهَا فَيُصَلِّي إِلَيْهَا " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to take out an 'Anazah (a short spear) on the day of Al-Fitr and the day of Al-Adha, plant it in the ground, and pray facing toward it.
