Hadith 1525
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ سَوَّادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : مَا أَنْعَمْتُ عَلَى عِبَادِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ إِلَّا أَصْبَحَ فَرِيقٌ مِنْهُمْ بِهَا كَافِرِينَ ، يَقُولُونَ : الْكَوْكَبُ وَبِالْكَوْكَبِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, said: I have never sent down My favor to My slaves but a group of them became disbelievers who say; "The stars and by stars.'"
Hadith 1535
أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، قال : " قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَامَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ فَكَبَّرَ وَكَبَّرُوا ثُمَّ رَكَعَ وَرَكَعَ أُنَاسٌ مِنْهُمْ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ وَسَجَدُوا ، ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ فَتَأَخَّرَ الَّذِينَ سَجَدُوا مَعَهُ وَحَرَسُوا إِخْوَانَهُمْ ، وَأَتَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الْأُخْرَى فَرَكَعُوا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَسَجَدُوا وَالنَّاسُ كُلُّهُمْ فِي صَلَاةٍ يُكَبِّرُونَ وَلَكِنْ يَحْرُسُ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا " .
´It was narrated from 'Ubaidullah bin Abdullah bin Utbah that:` 'Abdullah bin 'Abbas said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood and the people stood with him, and he said the takbir and they said the takbir. Then he bowed, and some of them bowed, then he prostrated and they prostrated, then he stood for the second rak'ah and those who had prostrated with him moved back and guarded their brothers, and the other group came and bowed and prostrated with the Prophet (ﷺ). All the people were praying and saying the takbir, but they were guarding one another."
Hadith 1539
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ زُرَيْعٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى بِإِحْدَى الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ رَكْعَةً وَالطَّائِفَةُ الْأُخْرَى مُوَاجِهَةُ الْعَدُوِّ ، ثُمَّ انْطَلَقُوا فَقَامُوا فِي مَقَامِ أُولَئِكَ وَجَاءَ أُولَئِكَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً أُخْرَى ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَقَامَ هَؤُلَاءِ فَقَضَوْا رَكْعَتَهُمْ وَقَامَ هَؤُلَاءِ فَقَضَوْا رَكْعَتَهُمْ " .
´It was narrated from Salim from his father, that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led one of the two groups in praying one rak'ah while the other group was facing the enemy, then they moved away and took the place of the others, and the others came and he led them in praying the other rak'ah, then he said the salam and they stood up and made up the other rak'ah, and the others stood up and made up the other rak'ah.
Hadith 1540
أَخْبَرَنِي كَثِيرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ بَقِيَّةَ ، عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قال : غَزَوْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قِبَلَ نَجْدٍ فَوَازَيْنَا الْعَدُوَّ وَصَافَفْنَاهُمْ " فَقَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي بِنَا ، فَقَامَتْ طَائِفَةٌ مِنَّا مَعَهُ وَأَقْبَلَ طَائِفَةٌ عَلَى الْعَدُوِّ فَرَكَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَنْ مَعَهُ رَكْعَةً وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ , ثُمَّ انْصَرَفُوا فَكَانُوا مَكَانَ أُولَئِكَ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُصَلُّوا ، وَجَاءَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الَّتِي لَمْ تُصَلِّ فَرَكَعَ بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ , ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَامَ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَرَكَعَ لِنَفْسِهِ رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ " .
´Salim bin 'Abdullah narrated that his father said:` "I went out on a campaign with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) toward Najd. We confronted the enemy and formed ranks facing them. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up and led us in prayer. Some of us stood with him and some of us faced the enemy. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) bowed and those who were with him bowed, and prostrated twice. Then they moved away and took the place of the others, and the other group who had not prayed came and he led them in bowing once and prostrating twice. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said the salam and each of the Muslims stood up and bowed once, and prostrated twice individually."
Hadith 1541
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ الْبَرْقِيُّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قال : كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يُحَدِّثُ ، أَنَّهُ صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " كَبَّرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَصَفَّ خَلْفَهُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنَّا وَأَقْبَلَتْ طَائِفَةٌ عَلَى الْعَدُوِّ ، فَرَكَعَ بِهِمُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفُوا وَأَقْبَلُوا عَلَى الْعَدُوِّ ، وَجَاءَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الْأُخْرَى فَصَلَّوْا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَفَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ كُلُّ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الطَّائِفَتَيْنِ فَصَلَّى لِنَفْسِهِ رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated that Az-Zuhri said:` "Abdullah bin 'Umar used to narrate that he offered the fear prayer with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). He said: 'The Prophet (ﷺ) said the takbir and one group of us formed a row behind him while the other group faced the enemy. The Prophet (ﷺ) led them in bowing once and prostrating twice, then they moved away and faced the enemy, and the other group came and prayed with the Prophet (ﷺ), doing likewise. Then he said the taslim, then each man of both groups stood and prayed by himself, bowing once and prostrating twice.'"
Hadith 1542
أَخْبَرَنِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْعَلَاءِ ، وَأَبِي أَيُّوب , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ قَامَ فَكَبَّرَ فَصَلَّى خَلْفَهُ طَائِفَةٌ مِنَّا وَطَائِفَةٌ مُوَاجِهَةَ الْعَدُوِّ فَرَكَعَ بِهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَكْعَةً وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ , ثُمَّ انْصَرَفُوا وَلَمْ يُسَلِّمُوا وَأَقْبَلُوا عَلَى الْعَدُوِّ فَصَفُّوا مَكَانَهُمْ ، وَجَاءَتِ الطَّائِفَةُ الْأُخْرَى فَصَفُّوا خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ , ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ أَتَمَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَأَرْبَعَ سَجَدَاتٍ ، ثُمَّ قَامَتِ الطَّائِفَتَانِ فَصَلَّى كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ مِنْهُمْ لِنَفْسِهِ رَكْعَةً وَسَجْدَتَيْنِ " قَالَ : أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ السُّنِّيِّ الزُّهْرِيُّ سَمِعَ مِنَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ حَدِيثَيْنِ وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْ هَذَا مِنْهُ .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin Umar said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offered the fear prayer. He stood and said the takbir, and a group of us prayed behind him while another group was facing the enemy. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) bowed once and prostrated twice with them, then they moved away but did not say the taslim. They went to face the enemy and lined up in their places, and the other group came and formed a row behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he led them in praying, bowing once and prostrating twice. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said the taslim and he had bowed twice and prostrated four times. Then the two groups stood up and each man prayed by himself, bowing once and prostrating twice." Abu Bakr IB As-Sunni said: "Az-Zuhri heard two hadiths from Ibn 'Umar, and he did not hear this from him."
Hadith 1561
أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ , وَعَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ , عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قال : وَجَدَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ حُلَّةً مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ بِالسُّوقِ فَأَخَذَهَا ، فَأَتَى بِهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , ابْتَعْ هَذِهِ فَتَجَمَّلْ بِهَا لِلْعِيدِ وَالْوَفْدِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّمَا هَذِهِ لِبَاسُ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ , أَوْ إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذِهِ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ " , فَلَبِثَ عُمَرُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ , ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِجُبَّةِ دِيبَاجٍ , فَأَقْبَلَ بِهَا حَتَّى جَاءَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , قُلْتَ : إِنَّمَا هَذِهِ لِبَاسُ مَنْ لَا خَلَاقَ لَهُ , ثُمَّ أَرْسَلْتَ إِلَيَّ بِهَذِهِ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بِعْهَا وَتُصِبْ بِهَا حَاجَتَكَ " .
´It was narrated from Salim that:` His father said: "Umar bin A-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, found a Hullah of Istibraq in the market. He took it and brought it to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), why don't you buy this and adorn yourself with it for the two 'Eids and when (meeting) the delegations?' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'This is the clothing of one who has no share in the Hereafter,' or: 'This is worn by one who has no share in the Hereafter.' Then as much time passed as Allah (SWT) willed, then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent to Umar a garment made of Dibaj. He brought it to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, you said that this is the clothing of one who has no share in the Hereafter, then you sent this to me?' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Sell it and use the money for whatever you need.'"
Hadith 1578
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ , وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ ، قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا قُلْتَ لِصَاحِبِكَ أَنْصِتْ وَالْإِمَامُ يَخْطُبُ فَقَدْ لَغَوْتَ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "If you say to your companion: 'Be quiet and listen' when the imam is delivering the Khutbah, you have engaged in idle speech."
Hadith 1594
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَعِنْدَهَا جَارِيَتَانِ تَضْرِبَانِ بِدُفَّيْنِ , فَانْتَهَرَهُمَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ , فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " دَعْهُنَّ فَإِنَّ لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ عِيدًا " .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered upon her and there were two girls with her who were beating the duff. Abu Bakr scolded them, but the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Leave them, for every people has an 'Eid."
Hadith 1596
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتُرُنِي بِرِدَائِهِ وَأَنَا أَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْحَبَشَةِ يَلْعَبُونَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ , حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَنَا أَسْأَمُ فَاقْدُرُوا قَدْرَ الْجَارِيَةِ الْحَدِيثَةِ السِّنِّ الْحَرِيصَةِ عَلَى اللَّهْوِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "I remember the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) covering me with his Rida' while I was watching the Ethiopians playing in the masjid, until I got bored. So you should understand the keenness of young girls to play."
Hadith 1597
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قال : دَخَلَ عُمَرُ وَالْحَبَشَةُ يَلْعَبُونَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ , فَزَجَرَهُمْ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " دَعْهُمْ يَا عُمَرُ فَإِنَّمَا هُمْ بَنُو أَرْفِدَةَ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:` "Umar came in when the Ethiopians were playing in the masjid. Umar, may Allah (SWT) be pleased with him, rebuked them, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Let them be there, O Umar, for they are Banu Arfidah.'"
Hadith 1598
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَفْصِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ طَهْمَانَ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، أَنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ حَدَّثَتْهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقَ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَعِنْدَهَا جَارِيَتَانِ تَضْرِبَانِ بِالدُّفِّ وَتُغَنِّيَانِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُسَجًّى بِثَوْبِهِ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى : مُتَسَجٍّ ثَوْبَهُ فَكَشَفَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ , فَقَالَ : " دَعْهُمَا يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ , إِنَّهَا أَيَّامُ عِيدٍ وَهُنَّ أَيَّامُ مِنًى " وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَئِذٍ بِالْمَدِينَةِ .
´It was narrated from 'Urwah that he narrated from Aishah that Abu Bakr As-Siddiq :` Entered upon her and there were two girls with her beating the duff and singing, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was covered with his garment. He uncovered his face and said: "Let them be there, O Abu Bakr, for these are the days of 'Eid." Those were the days of Mina and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was in Al-Madinah on that day."
Hadith 1603
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا , غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever prays Qiyam during Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins."
Hadith 1604
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَسْمَاءَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا جُوَيْرِيَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، قال : قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ , أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , وَحُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا , غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Whoever prays Qiyam during Ramadan out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins."
Hadith 1605
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , صَلَّى فِي الْمَسْجِدِ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ وَصَلَّى بِصَلَاتِهِ نَاسٌ , ثُمَّ صَلَّى مِنَ الْقَابِلَةِ وَكَثُرَ النَّاسُ ثُمَّ اجْتَمَعُوا مِنَ اللَّيْلَةِ الثَّالِثَةِ أَوِ الرَّابِعَةِ , فَلَمْ يَخْرُجْ إِلَيْهِمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ , قَالَ : " قَدْ رَأَيْتُ الَّذِي صَنَعْتُمْ , فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْنِي مِنَ الْخُرُوجِ إِلَيْكُمْ إِلَّا أَنِّي خَشِيتُ أَنْ يُفْرَضَ عَلَيْكُمْ " وَذَلِكَ فِي رَمَضَانَ .
´It was narrated from 'Aishah that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed in the masjid one night, and some people followed his prayer. Then he prayed the following night and more people came. Then they gathered on the third or fourth night and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not come out to them. When morning came he said: "I saw what you did, and nothing prevented me from coming out to you but the fact that I feared that this would be made obligatory for you," and that was in Ramadan.
Hadith 1612
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ ، أَنَّ الْحُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَلِيّ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَرَقَهُ وَفَاطِمَةَ , فَقَالَ : " أَلَا تُصَلُّونَ " , قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِنَّمَا أَنْفُسُنَا بِيَدِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَبْعَثَهَا بَعَثَهَا , فَانْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ قُلْتُ لَهُ ذَلِكَ ، ثُمَّ سَمِعْتُهُ وَهُوَ مُدْبِرٌ يَضْرِبُ فَخِذَهُ , وَيَقُولُ : وَكَانَ الإِنْسَانُ أَكْثَرَ شَيْءٍ جَدَلا سورة الكهف آية 54 .
´It was narrated from 'Ali bin Abi Talib that:` The Prophet (ﷺ) came to him and Fatimah at night and said: "Won't you pray?" I said: "O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), our souls are in the hand of Allah and if He wants to make us get up, He will make us get up." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went away when I said that to him. Then as he was leaving I heard him striking his thigh and saying: But, man is ever more quarrelsome than anything.
Hadith 1613
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي حَكِيمُ بْنُ حَكِيمِ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، قال : دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَعَلَى فَاطِمَةَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَأَيْقَظَنَا لِلصَّلَاةِ ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى بَيْتِهِ فَصَلَّى هَوِيًّا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَلَمْ يَسْمَعْ لَنَا حِسًّا ، فَرَجَعَ إِلَيْنَا فَأَيْقَظَنَا , فَقَالَ : " قُومَا فَصَلِّيَا " , قَالَ : فَجَلَسْتُ وَأَنَا أَعْرُكُ عَيْنِي وَأَقُولُ : إِنَّا وَاللَّهِ مَا نُصَلِّي إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَنَا إِنَّمَا أَنْفُسُنَا بِيَدِ اللَّهِ فَإِنْ شَاءَ أَنْ يَبْعَثَنَا بَعَثَنَا , قَالَ : فَوَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ وَيَضْرِبُ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى فَخِذِهِ : " مَا نُصَلِّي إِلَّا مَا كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَنَا وَكَانَ الإِنْسَانُ أَكْثَرَ شَيْءٍ جَدَلا سورة الكهف آية 54 " .
´It was narrated from Ali bin Husain, from his father, that:` Hs grandfather Ali bin Abi Talib said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came in to Fatimah and I, one night and woke us up to pray, then he went back to his house and prayed for part of the night, and he did not hear any movement from us. He came back to us and woke us up, and said: 'Get up and pray.' I sat up, rubbing my eyes, and said: 'By Allah, we will only pray that which has decreed for us; our souls are in the hand of Allah (SWT) and if He wants to make us get up, He will make us get up.' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) turned away, striking his hand on his thigh, saying: 'We will only pray that which Allah (SWT) has decreed for us! But man is ever more quarrelsome than anything.'"
Hadith 1627
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : قُلْتُ وَأَنَا فِي سَفَرٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : وَاللَّهِ لَأَرْقُبَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِصَلَاةٍ حَتَّى أَرَى فِعْلَهُ ، " فَلَمَّا صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ وَهِيَ الْعَتَمَةُ اضْطَجَعَ هَوِيًّا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَنَظَرَ فِي الْأُفُقِ , فَقَالَ : " رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَذَا بَاطِلا حَتَّى بَلَغَ إِنَّكَ لا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ سورة آل عمران آية 191 - 194 " , ثُمَّ أَهْوَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَاسْتَلَّ مِنْهُ سِوَاكًا ، ثُمَّ أَفْرَغَ فِي قَدَحٍ مِنْ إِدَاوَةٍ عِنْدَهُ مَاءً فَاسْتَنَّ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى حَتَّى قُلْتُ قَدْ صَلَّى قَدْرَ مَا نَامَ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ حَتَّى , قُلْتُ : قَدْ نَامَ قَدْرَ مَا صَلَّى ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَفَعَلَ كَمَا فَعَلَ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ , وَقَالَ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ فَفَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn Shihaab said:` "Humaid bin Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf told me that a man from among the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'I said, when I was on a journey with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): By Allah (SWT), I am going to watch the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and see what he does. When he prayed 'Isha, he lay down for a long time. Then he woke up and looked toward the horizon and said: "Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose" until he reached: "for You never break (Your) Promise." Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) reached across his bed and took a siwak from it, then he poured water from a vessel and cleaned his teeth. Then he stood and prayed until I said: He has prayed for as long as he has slept. Then he lay down until I said: He has slept as long as he prayed. Then he woke up and did the same as he had done the first time and said the same as he had said. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did that three times before Fajr.'"
Hadith 1639
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدِ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، وَبَقِيَّةُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَبَّابِ بْنِ الْأَرَتِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، وَكَانَ قَدْ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ رَاقَبَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اللَّيْلَةَ كُلَّهَا حَتَّى كَانَ مَعَ الْفَجْرِ ، فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ جَاءَهُ خَبَّابٌ , فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي لَقَدْ صَلَّيْتَ اللَّيْلَةَ صَلَاةً مَا رَأَيْتُكَ صَلَّيْتَ نَحْوَهَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَجَلْ إِنَّهَا صَلَاةُ رَغَبٍ وَرَهَبٍ سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ فِيهَا ثَلَاثَ خِصَالٍ فَأَعْطَانِي اثْنَتَيْنِ وَمَنَعَنِي وَاحِدَةً ، سَأَلْتُ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْ لَا يُهْلِكَنَا بِمَا أَهْلَكَ بِهِ الْأُمَمَ قَبْلَنَا فَأَعْطَانِيهَا ، وَسَأَلْتُ رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَنْ لَا يُظْهِرَ عَلَيْنَا عَدُوًّا مِنْ غَيْرِنَا فَأَعْطَانِيهَا ، وَسَأَلْتُ رَبِّي أَنْ لَا يَلْبِسَنَا شِيَعًا فَمَنَعَنِيهَا " .
´It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Khabbab bin Al-Aratt, from his father who had been present at Badr with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), that:` He watched the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) one night when he prayed all night until Fajr time. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said the taslim at the end of his prayer, Khabbab said to him: 'May my father and mother be ransomed for you O Messenger of Allah, last night you offered a prayer the like of which I have never seen you offer." The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Yes indeed. This is a prayer of hope and fear in which I asked my Lord, the Mighty and Sublime, for three things, of which He gave me two and did not grant me one. I asked my Lord not to destroy us with which he destroyed the nations before us, and He granted me that. And I asked my Lord not to let an enemy from without prevail over us, and He granted me that. And I asked my Lord not to divide us into warring factions and He did not grant me that."
Hadith 1659
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى فِي سُبْحَتِهِ قَاعِدًا قَطُّ حَتَّى كَانَ قَبْلَ وَفَاتِهِ بِعَامٍ ، فَكَانَ يُصَلِّي قَاعِدًا يَقْرَأُ بِالسُّورَةِ فَيُرَتِّلُهَا حَتَّى تَكُونَ أَطْوَلَ مِنْ أَطْوَلَ مِنْهَا " .
´It was narrated that Hafsah said:` "I never saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offer his voluntary prayers sitting down until one year before his death. Then he used to pray sitting down, reciting the surah so slowly that it seemed to be longer than a surah that is longer."
Hadith 1669
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ صَدَقَةَ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، فَإِذَا خِفْتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ " .
´It was narrated from Salim, from his father, that :` The Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Prayers at night are two by two, then if you fear that dawn will come, pray witr with one rak'ah."
Hadith 1673
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ ، عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَيْفَ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، فَإِذَا خِفْتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn Umar said:` "A man from among the Muslims asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): 'How are prayers at night to be done?' He said: 'prayers at night are (offered) two by two, then if you fear that dawn will come, pray witr with one.'"
Hadith 1674
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَخِي ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، فَإِذَا خَشِيتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ " .
´It was narrated that Abdullah bin Umar said that:` A man asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about prayers at night. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "prayers at night are (offered) two by two, then if you fear that dawn will come, pray witr with one."
Hadith 1675
أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ , وَحُمَيْدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَاهُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : قَامَ رَجُلٌ , فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , كَيْفَ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، فَإِذَا خِفْتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ " .
´It was narrated that Abdullah bin Umar said:` "A man stood up and said: 'O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), how are the prayers at night to be done?' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Prayers at night are (offered) two by two, then if you fear that dawn will come, pray witr with one.'"
Hadith 1711
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي ضُبَارَةُ بْنُ أَبِي السَّلِيلِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي دُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْوِتْرُ حَقٌّ ، فَمَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِسَبْعٍ وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِخَمْسٍ , وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِثَلَاثٍ وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِوَاحِدَةٍ " .
´Duwaid bin Nafi' said:` " Ibn Shihab informed me, saying: 'Ata bin Yazid narrated to me from Abu Ayyub: That the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'Witr is a duty, and whoever wants to pray witr with seven (rak'ahs), let him do so; whoever wants to pray witr with five, let him do so, whoever wants to pray witr with three, let him do so; and whoever wants to pray witr with one, let him do so.'"
Hadith 1712
أَخْبَرَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ مَزْيَدٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبِي ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " الْوِتْرُ حَقٌّ ، فَمَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِخَمْسٍ وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِثَلَاثٍ وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِوَاحِدَةٍ " .
´Al-Awza'I said:` "Az-Zuhri narrated to me, he said: 'Ata bin Yazid, from Abu Ayyub: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Witr is a duty, and whoever wants to pray witr with seven (rak'ahs), let him do so; whoever wants to pray witr with five, let him do so, whoever wants to pray witr with three, let him do so; and whoever wants to pray witr with one, let him do so.'"

أَخْبَرَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ دَاوُدَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مُعَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ ، يَقُولُ : " الْوِتْرُ حَقٌّ ، فَمَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُوتِرَ بِخَمْسِ رَكَعَاتٍ فَلْيَفْعَلْ , وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُوتِرَ بِثَلَاثٍ فَلْيَفْعَلْ , وَمَنْ أَحَبَّ أَنْ يُوتِرَ بِوَاحِدَةٍ فَلْيَفْعَلْ " .
´Abu Mu'aid narrated from Az-Zuhri, who said:` "Ata' bin Yazid narrated to me that he heard Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari say: 'Witr is a duty, so whoever wants to pray witr with five rak'ahs let him do so, whoever wants to pray witr with three, let him do so; and whoever wants to pray witr with one, let him do so.'"
Hadith 1714
قَالَ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ ، قِرَاءَةً عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، قال : " مَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِسَبْعٍ , وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِخَمْسٍ , وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِثَلَاثٍ , وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَوْتَرَ بِوَاحِدَةٍ , وَمَنْ شَاءَ أَوْمَأَ إِيمَاءً " .
´Sufyan narrated from Az-Zuhri, from 'Ata bin Yazid, from Abu Ayyub, who said:` "Whoever wants to pray witr with seven (rak'ahs) let him do so, and whoever wants to pray witr with five (rak'ahs) let him do so, and whoever wants to pray witr with three rak'ahs, let him do so; and whoever wants to pray witr with one rak'ah, let him do so, and wants to do so gesturing, let him do so.'"
Hadith 1727
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً وَيُوتِرُ مِنْهَا بِوَاحِدَةٍ ، ثُمَّ يَضْطَجِعُ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ " .
´It was narrated from Aishah that:` The Prophet (ﷺ) used to pray eleven rak'ahs at night, of which one was witr, then he would lie down on his right side.
Hadith 1750
أَخْبَرَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً فِيمَا بَيْنَ أَنْ يَفْرُغَ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ إِلَى الْفَجْرِ بِاللَّيْلِ سِوَى رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ ، وَيَسْجُدُ قَدْرَ مَا يَقْرَأُ أَحَدُكُمْ خَمْسِينَ آيَةً " .
´It was narrated that Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray eleven rak'ahs at night between finishing Isha' prayer and Fajr, apart from the two rak'ahs of Fajr, and he would prostrate for as long as it takes one of you to recite fifty verses.
Hadith 1762
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا أَضَاءَ لَهُ الْفَجْرُ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn Umar said:` "Hafsah told me that when dawn glowed, the Prophet (ﷺ) would pray two rak'ahs.
Hadith 1763
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَكَتَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ بِالْأُولَى مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ قَامَ فَرَكَعَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ بَعْدَ أَنْ يَتَبَيَّنَ الْفَجْرُ ، ثُمَّ يَضْطَجِعُ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الْأَيْمَنِ " .
´It was narrated that Aishah said:` "When the Muaddhin fell silent after the Adhan for the beginning of Fajr, he would pray two brief rak'ahs, then he would lie down on his right side."
Hadith 1779
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَرْكَعُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ ، وَذَلِكَ بَعْدَ مَا يَطْلُعُ الْفَجْرُ " .
´Ibn Umar said:` "Hafsah told me that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray two brief rak'ahs before Fajr, and that was after dawn had broken."
Hadith 1780
أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي حَفْصَةُ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ إِذَا أَضَاءَ لَهُ الْفَجْرُ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated from Salim that his father said:` "Hafsah told me that when dawn glowed, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would pray two rak'ahs."
Hadith 1784
أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي السَّائِبُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، أَنَّ شُرَيْحًا الْحَضْرَمِيَّ ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ذَاكَ رَجُلٌ لَا يَتَوَسَّدُ الْقُرْآنَ " .
´It was narrated that Az-Zuhri said:` "As-Sa'ib bin Yazid told me that Shuraih Al-Hadrami was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "He does not sleep on the Qur'an"
Hadith 1791
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو صَفْوَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّ السَّائِبَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ , وَعُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ أَخْبَرَاهُ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَبْدٍ الْقَارِيَّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ نَامَ عَنْ حِزْبِهِ أَوْ عَنْ شَيْءٍ مِنْهُ فَقَرَأَهُ فِيمَا بَيْنَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ وَصَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ كُتِبَ لَهُ كَأَنَّمَا قَرَأَهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ " .
´Abdur-Rahman bin Abdul-Qari said:` "I heard Umar bin Al-Khattab say: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever sleeps and misses his portion (of Qur'an) or part of it, and then reads it between Fajr and Zuhr prayers, it will be recorded for him as if he had read it at night.'" (Sahih
Hadith 1792
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدٍ الْقَارِيِّ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ نَامَ عَنْ حِزْبِهِ أَوْ قَالَ : جُزْئِهِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَقَرَأَهُ فِيمَا بَيْنَ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ إِلَى صَلَاةِ الظُّهْرِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَرَأَهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ " .
´It was narrated from Abdur-Rahman bin Abdul-Qari that:` Umar bin Al-Khattab said: "(The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said): "Whoever sleeps and misses his nightly portion, and reads it between Subh and Zuhr prayers, it is as if he read it at night.'"
Hadith 1819
أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمُ الْمَوْتَ إِمَّا مُحْسِنًا فَلَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَزْدَادَ خَيْرًا , وَإِمَّا مُسِيئًا فَلَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَسْتَعْتِبَ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said:` "None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so perhaps he may do more good, or he is an evildoer but perhaps he will give up his evil ways."
Hadith 1820
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا بَقِيَّةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّبَيْدِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي الزُّهْرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ إِمَّا مُحْسِنًا فَلَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَعِيشَ يَزْدَادُ خَيْرًا وَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَهُ , وَإِمَّا مُسِيئًا فَلَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَسْتَعْتِبَ " .
´It was narrated from Abu Ubaid the freed slave of 'Abdur-Rahman bin Awf that he heard Abu Huraidah say:` 'None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so if he lives he will do more good or he is a doer of evil but perhaps he will give up his evil ways."'
Hadith 1832
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " آخِرُ نَظْرَةٍ نَظَرْتُهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَشْفُ السِّتَارَةِ وَالنَّاسُ صُفُوفٌ خَلْفَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، فَأَرَادَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَنْ يَرْتَدَّ فَأَشَارَ إِلَيْهِمْ أَنِ امْكُثُوا وَأَلْقَى السِّجْفَ , وَتُوُفِّيَ مِنْ آخِرِ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَذَلِكَ يَوْمُ الِاثْنَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` "The last time I saw the Messenger of Allah, he drew back the curtain when the people were in rows behind Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him. Abu Bakr wanted to step back, but he gestured to them to stay as they were, and let the curtain drop. He died at the end of that day, and that was a Monday."
