Hadith 2204
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ ، وَأَبُو الطَّاهِرِ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عن رسول الله صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَال : " لِكُلِّ دَاءٍ دَوَاءٌ فَإِذَا أُصِيبَ دَوَاءُ الدَّاءِ بَرَأَ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
Jabir reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There is a remedy for every malady, and when the remedy is applied to the disease it is cured with the permission of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious.
Hadith 2206
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ اسْتَأْذَنَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْحِجَامَةِ ، فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَبَا طَيْبَةَ أَنْ يَحْجُمَهَا ، قَالَ : " حَسِبْتُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ كَانَ أَخَاهَا مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ أَوْ غُلَامًا لَمْ يَحْتَلِمْ " .
Jabir reported that Umm Salamah sought permission from Allah's messenger (may Allah's peace upon him) for getting herself cupped. The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) asked Abu Taiba to cup her. He (Jabir) said: I think he (Abu Taiba) was her foster brother or a young boy before entering upon the adolescent period.
Hadith 2208
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ . ح وحدثنا يَحْيَي بْنُ يَحْيَي ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قال : رُمِيَ سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ فِي أَكْحَلِهِ ، قَالَ : " فَحَسَمَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِهِ بِمِشْقَصٍ ثُمَّ وَرِمَتْ فَحَسَمَهُ الثَّانِيَةَ " .
Jabir reported that Sa'd bin Mu'adh received a wound of the arrow in his vein. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) cauterised it with a rod and it was swollen, so the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did it for the second time.
Hadith 2222
وحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ هَاشِمِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ وَهُوَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قال : قال رسول اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا عَدْوَى وَلَا غُولَ وَلَا صَفَرَ " .
Jabir reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no ghoul, no safar.
Hadith 2222
وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا عَدْوَى وَلَا صَفَرَ وَلَا غُولَ " ، وَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا الزُّبَيْر ِ يَذْكُرُ أَنَّ جَابِرًا فَسَّرَ لَهُمْ قَوْلَهُ " وَلَا صَفَرَ " ، فَقَالَ أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ : الصَّفَرُ الْبَطْنُ ، فَقِيلَ لِجَابِرٍ : كَيْفَ ؟ ، قَالَ : كَانَ يُقَالُ دَوَابُّ الْبَطْنِ ، قَالَ : وَلَمْ يُفَسِّرِ الْغُولَ ، قَالَ أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ : هَذِهِ الْغُولُ الَّتِي تَغَوَّلُ .
Jabir bin 'Abdullah reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying: There is no transitive disease, no safar, no ghoul. He (the narrator) said: I heard Abu Zubair say: Jabir explained for them the word safar. Abu Zubair said: safar means belly. It was said to Jabir: Why is it so? He said that it was held that safar implied the worms of the belly, but he gave no explanation of ghoul. Abu Zubair said: Ghoul is that which kills the travellers.
Hadith 2227
وحَدَّثَنَاه إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا يُخْبِرُ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنْ كَانَ فِي شَيْءٍ ، فَفِي الرَّبْعِ وَالْخَادِمِ وَالْفَرَسِ .
Jabir reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: If bad luck were to be in anything, it is found in the land, in the servant and in the horse.
Hadith 2262
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " إِذَا رَأَى أَحَدُكُمُ الرُّؤْيَا يَكْرَهُهَا ، فَلْيَبْصُقْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ثَلَاثًا ، وَلْيَسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ ثَلَاثًا ، وَلْيَتَحَوَّلْ عَنْ جَنْبِهِ الَّذِي كَانَ عَلَيْهِ " .
Jabir reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: If anyone sees a dream which he does not like, lie should spit on his left side.
Hadith 2268
وحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ رَآنِي فِي النَّوْمِ فَقَدْ رَآنِي ، إِنَّهُ لَا يَنْبَغِي لِلشَّيْطَانِ أَنْ يَتَمَثَّلَ فِي صُورَتِي ، وَقَالَ : إِذَا حَلَمَ أَحَدُكُمْ ، فَلَا يُخْبِرْ أَحَدًا بِتَلَعُّبِ الشَّيْطَانِ بِهِ فِي الْمَنَامِ " .
Jabir reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who saw me in sleep in fact saw me, for it is not possible for the satan to appear in my form; and he also said: When any one of you sees a hulm (dream) he should not inform anyone, for it is a sort of vain sport of devil in the state of sleep.
Hadith 2268
وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّاءُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ رَآنِي فِي النَّوْمِ فَقَدْ رَآنِي ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَنْبَغِي لِلشَّيْطَانِ أَنْ يَتَشَبَّهَ بِي " .
Jabir bin 'Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who saw me in a dream in fact saw me, for the satan cannot assume my form.
Hadith 2268
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِأَعْرَابِيٍّ جَاءَهُ : فَقَالَ : " إِنِّي حَلَمْتُ أَنَّ رَأْسِي قُطِعَ ، فَأَنَا أَتَّبِعُهُ ، فَزَجَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَالَ : لَا تُخْبِرْ بِتَلَعُّبِ الشَّيْطَانِ بِكَ فِي الْمَنَامِ " .
Jabir reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There came to him (the Holy Prophet) a desert Arab and said: I saw in a dream that I had been beheaded and I had been following it (the severed head). Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) reprimanded him saying: Do not inform about the vain sporting of devil with you during the night.
Hadith 2280
وحَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ : " أَنَّ أُمَّ مَالِكٍ ، كَانَتْ تُهْدِي لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي عُكَّةٍ لَهَا سَمْنًا ، فَيَأْتِيهَا بَنُوهَا فَيَسْأَلُونَ الْأُدْمَ ، وَلَيْسَ عِنْدَهُمْ شَيْءٌ ، فَتَعْمِدُ إِلَى الَّذِي كَانَتْ تُهْدِي فِيهِ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَتَجِدُ فِيهِ سَمْنًا فَمَا زَالَ يُقِيمُ لَهَا أُدْمَ بَيْتِهَا حَتَّى عَصَرَتْهُ ، فَأَتَتْا لنَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : عَصَرْتِيهَا ؟ ، قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : لَوْ تَرَكْتِيهَا مَا زَالَ قَائِمًا " .
Jabir reported that Umm Malik used to send clarified butter in a small skin to the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) . Her sons would come to her and ask for seasoning when they had nothing with them (in the form of condiments) and she would go to that (skin) in which she offered (clarified butter) to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) , and she would find in that clarified butter and it kept providing her with seasoning for her household until she had (completely) squeezed it. She came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and (informed him about it). Thereupon, he (the Holy Prophet) said: Did you squeeze it? She said: Yes. Thereupon he said: If you had left it in that very state, it would have kept on providing you (the clarified butter) on end.
Hadith 2281
وحَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ : " أَنَّ رَجُلًا أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْتَطْعِمُهُ ، فَأَطْعَمَهُ شَطْرَ وَسْقِ شَعِيرٍ ، فَمَا زَالَ الرَّجُلُ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهُ وَامْرَأَتُهُ وَضَيْفُهُمَا حَتَّى كَالَهُ ، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : لَوْ لَمْ تَكِلْهُ لَأَكَلْتُمْ مِنْهُ ، وَلَقَامَ لَكُمْ " .
Jabir reported that a person came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and asked for food. And he gave him half a wasq of barley, and the person and his wife and their guests kept on making use of it (as a food) until he weighed it (in order to find out the actual quantity, and it was no more). He came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) (and informed him about it). He said: Had you not weighed it, you would be eating out of it and it would have remained intact for you.
Hadith 706
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الْحَنَفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ الْمَكِّيِّ ، أَنَّ أَبَا الطُّفَيْلِ عَامِرَ بْنَ وَاثِلَةَ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّ مُعَاذَ بْنَ جَبَلٍ أَخْبَرَهُ ، قَالَ : " خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَامَ غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ ، فَكَانَ يَجْمَعُ الصَّلَاةَ ، فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ جَمِيعًا ، وَالْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ جَمِيعًا ، حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمًا أَخَّرَ الصَّلَاةَ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ ، وَالْعَصْرَ جَمِيعًا ، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ ، ثُمَّ خَرَجَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ ، فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ جَمِيعًا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " إِنَّكُمْ سَتَأْتُونَ غَدًا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ عَيْنَ تَبُوكَ ، وَإِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَأْتُوهَا حَتَّى يُضْحِيَ النَّهَارُ ، فَمَنْ جَاءَهَا مِنْكُمْ ، فَلَا يَمَسَّ مِنْ مَائِهَا شَيْئًا ، حَتَّى آتِيَ فَجِئْنَاهَا وَقَدْ سَبَقَنَا إِلَيْهَا رَجُلَانِ ، وَالْعَيْنُ مِثْلُ الشِّرَاكِ تَبِضُّ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ مَاء ، قَالَ : فَسَأَلَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : هَلْ مَسَسْتُمَا مِنْ مَائِهَا شَيْئًا ؟ ، قَالَا : نَعَمْ ، فَسَبَّهُمَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَالَ لَهُمَا : مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ غَرَفُوا بِأَيْدِيهِمْ مِنَ الْعَيْنِ قَلِيلًا قَلِيلًا ، حَتَّى اجْتَمَعَ فِي شَيْءٍ ، قَالَ : وَغَسَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِيهِ يَدَيْهِ وَوَجْهَهُ ثُمَّ أَعَادَهُ فِيهَا ، فَجَرَتِ الْعَيْنُ بِمَاءٍ مُنْهَمِرٍ ، أَوَ قَالَ غَزِيرٍ شَكَّ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ أَيُّهُمَا ، قَالَ : حَتَّى اسْتَقَى النَّاسُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : يُوشِكُ يَا مُعَاذُ إِنْ طَالَتْ بِكَ حَيَاةٌ ، أَنْ تَرَى مَا هَاهُنَا قَدْ مُلِئَ جِنَانًا " .
Mu'adh bin Jabal reported that he went along with Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) in the expedition of Tabuk and he (the Holy Prophet) combined the prayers. He offered the noon and afternoon prayers together and the sunset and night prayers together and on the other day he deferred the prayers; he then came out and offered the noon and afternoon prayers together. He then went in and (later on) came out and then after that offered the sunset and night prayers together and then said: God willing, you would reach by tomorrow the fountain of Tabuk and you should not come to that until it is dawn, and he who amongst you happens to go there should not touch its water until I come. We came to that and two persons (amongst) us reached that fountain ahead of us. It was a thin flow of water like the shoelace. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) asked them whether they had touched the water. They said: Yes. Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) scolded them, and he said to them what he had to say by the will of God. The people then took water of the fountain in their palms until it became somewhat significant and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) washed his hands and his face too in it, and then, took it again in that (fountain) and there gushed forth abundant water from that fountain, until all the people drank to their fill. He then said: Mu'adh, it is hoped that if you live long you would see its water irrigating well the gardens.
Hadith 2466
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَجَنَازَةُ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ ، اهْتَزَّ لَهَا عَرْشُ الرَّحْمَنِ " .
Jabir bin 'Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying while the bier of Sa'd bin Mu'adh was placed before them: The Throne of the most Gracious shook at the death of Sa'd bin Mu'adh.
Hadith 2495
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ : " أَنَّ عَبْدًا لِحَاطِبٍ جَاءَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَشْكُو حَاطِبًا ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، لَيَدْخُلَنَّ حَاطِبٌ النَّارَ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : كَذَبْتَ ، لَا يَدْخُلُهَا فَإِنَّهُ شَهِدَ بَدْرًا ، وَالْحُدَيْبِيَةَ " .
Jabir reported that a slave of Hatib came to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) complaining against Hatib and said: Hatib will definitely go to Hell. (But) Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: You tell a lie; he would not get into that for he had taken part in Badr and in (the expedition of) Hudaibiya.
Hadith 2496
حَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمُّ مُبَشِّرٍ ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ عِنْدَ حَفْصَةَ : " لَا يَدْخُلُ النَّارَ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الشَّجَرَةِ أَحَدٌ الَّذِينَ بَايَعُوا تَحْتَهَا ، قَالَتْ : بَلَى يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَانْتَهَرَهَا ، فَقَالَتْ حَفْصَةُ : وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلا وَارِدُهَا سورة مريم آية 71 ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : قَدْ قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : ثُمَّ نُنَجِّي الَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا وَنَذَرُ الظَّالِمِينَ فِيهَا جِثِيًّا سورة مريم آية 72 " .
Umm Mubashshir reported that she heard Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying in presence of Hafsa: God willing, the people of the Tree would never enter the fire of Hell one amongst those who owed allegiance under that. She said: Allah's Messenger, why not? He scolded her. Hafsa said: And there is none amongst you but shall have to pass over that (narrow Bridge). Thereupon Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, has said: We would rescue those persons who are God-conscious and we would leave the tyrants to their fate there (xix. 72).
Hadith 2515
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، وَسُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي وَرْقَاءُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، عَنْ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ كُلُّهُمْ ، قَالَ : عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللَّهُ وَغِفَارُ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهَا " .
This hadith has been reported on the authority of Shu'bah with the same chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2532
حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَي بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : زَعَمَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ زَمَانٌ يُبْعَثُ مِنْهُمُ الْبَعْثُ ، فَيَقُولُونَ : انْظُرُوا هَلْ تَجِدُونَ فِيكُمْ أَحَدًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ فَيُوجَدُ الرَّجُلُ ، فَيُفْتَحُ لَهُمْ بِهِ ، ثُمَّ يُبْعَثُ الْبَعْثُ الثَّانِي ، فَيَقُولُونَ : هَلْ فِيهِمْ مَنْ رَأَى أَصْحَابَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ فَيُفْتَحُ لَهُمْ بِهِ ، ثُمَّ يُبْعَثُ الْبَعْثُ الثَّالِثُ ، فَيُقَالُ : انْظُرُوا هَلْ تَرَوْنَ فِيهِمْ مَنْ رَأَى مَنْ رَأَى أَصْحَابَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ ثُمَّ يَكُونُ الْبَعْثُ الرَّابِعُ ، فَيُقَالُ : انْظُرُوا هَلْ تَرَوْنَ فِيهِمْ أَحَدًا رَأَى مَنْ رَأَى أَحَدًا رَأَى أَصْحَابَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَيُوجَدُ الرَّجُلُ ، فَيُفْتَحُ لَهُمْ بِهِ " .
Abu Sa'id Khudri reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There would come to the people a time when a detachment would be sent for fighting in the cause of Allah and they would say: See, if you can find amongst them someone from amongst the Companions of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) . They would find a person and they would be granted victory because of him. Then a second detachment would be sent to them and they would say: Do you find amongst them one who had had the privilege of seeing the Companions of the Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) ? -and the victory would be granted to them because of him. Then the third detachment would be sent and it would be said to them: See, if you find amongst them (who had had the honour of seeing one) who saw those who saw the Companions of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) . Then the fourth detachment would be sent and it would be said to them: See it you find amongst them one who had the privilege (of seeing) one who saw those who saw those who saw the Companions of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) , and a person would be found and they would be granted victory because of him.
Hadith 2538
حَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَحَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَمُوتَ بِشَهْرٍ : " تَسْأَلُونِي عَنِ السَّاعَةِ ، وَإِنَّمَا عِلْمُهَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ ، وَأُقْسِمُ بِاللَّهِ مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنْ نَفْسٍ مَنْفُوسَةٍ تَأْتِي عَلَيْهَا مِائَةُ سَنَةٍ " .
Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported:I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying this one month before his death: You asked me about the Last Hour whereas its knowledge is with Allah. I, however, take an oath and say that none upon the earth, the created beings (from amongst my Companions), would survive at the end of one hundred years.
Hadith 2575
حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَجَّاجُ الصَّوَّافُ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ عَلَى أُمِّ السَّائِبِ ، أَوْ أُمِّ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، فَقَالَ : مَا لَكِ يَا أُمَّ السَّائِبِ ، أَوْ يَا أُمَّ الْمُسَيَّبِ تُزَفْزِفِينَ ؟ قَالَتْ : الْحُمَّى لَا بَارَكَ اللَّهُ فِيهَا ، فَقَالَ : " لَا تَسُبِّي الْحُمَّى ، فَإِنَّهَا تُذْهِبُ خَطَايَا بَنِي آدَمَ كَمَا يُذْهِبُ الْكِيرُ خَبَثَ الْحَدِيدِ " .
Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) visited Umm Sa'ib or Umm Musayyib and said: Umm Sa'ib or Umm Musayyib. why is it that you are shivering? She said:" It is fever and may it not be blessed by Allah, whereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Don't curse fever for it expiates the sir of the posterity of Adam ؑؑjust as furnace removes the alloy of iron.
Hadith 2584
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : اقْتَتَلَ غُلَامَانِ غُلَامٌ مِنْ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ ، وَغُلَامٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ ، فَنَادَى الْمُهَاجِرُ أَوْ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ : يَا لَلْمُهَاجِرِينَ ، وَنَادَى الْأَنْصَارِيُّ : يَا لَلْأَنْصَارِ ، فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : مَا هَذَا دَعْوَى أَهْلِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ ؟ قَالُوا : لَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ غُلَامَيْنِ اقْتَتَلَا فَكَسَعَ أَحَدُهُمَا الْآخَرَ ، قَالَ : " فَلَا بَأْسَ وَلْيَنْصُرِ الرَّجُلُ أَخَاهُ ظَالِمًا أَوْ مَظْلُومًا ، إِنْ كَانَ ظَالِمًا فَلْيَنْهَهُ فَإِنَّهُ لَهُ نَصْرٌ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ مَظْلُومًا فَلْيَنْصُرْهُ " .
Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) reported that two young men, one from the Muhajirin (emigrants) and the other one from the Angr (helpers) fell into dispute and the Muhajir called his fellow Muhajirin, and the Ansari (the helper) called the Ansar (for help). In the meanwhile, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came there and said: What is this, the proclamation of the days of jahiliya (ignorance)? They said: Allah's Messenger, there is nothing serious. The two young men fell into dispute and the one struck at the back of the other. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: Well, a person should help his brother whether he is an oppressor or an oppressed. If he is the oppressor he should prevent him from doing it, for that is his help; and if he is the oppressed he should be helped (against oppression).
Hadith 2602
حَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَحَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ ، وَإِنِّي اشْتَرَطْتُ عَلَى رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، أَيُّ عَبْدٍ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ سَبَبْتُهُ أَوْ شَتَمْتُهُ أَنْ يَكُونَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ زَكَاةً وَأَجْرًا " .
Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: I am a human being and I have made this term with my Lord, the Exalted and Glorious: For any servant amongst Muslims whom I curse or scold, make that a source of purity and reward.
Hadith 2614
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّهُ أَمَرَ رَجُلًا كَانَ يَتَصَدَّقُ بِالنَّبْلِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ أَنْ لَا يَمُرَّ بِهَا إِلَّا وَهُوَ آخِذٌ بِنُصُولِهَا " ، وقَالَ ابْنُ رُمْحٍ : كَانَ يَصَّدَّقُ بِالنَّبْلِ .
Jabir reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) commanded a person who had been distributing arrows freely in the mosque that he should not move about in the mosque but by catching hold of their iron-heads. Ibn Rumh narrated this with a slight variation of wording.
Hadith 2645
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَرْحٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ الْمَكِّيِّ ، أَنَّ عَامِرَ بْنَ وَاثِلَةَ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ يَقُولُ الشَّقِيُّ مَنْ شَقِيَ فِي بَطْنِ أُمِّهِ ، وَالسَّعِيدُ مَنْ وُعِظَ بِغَيْرِهِ ، فَأَتَى رَجُلًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يُقَالُ لَهُ حُذَيْفَةُ بْنُ أَسِيدٍ الْغِفَارِيُّ ، فَحَدَّثَهُ بِذَلِكَ مِنْ قَوْلِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، فَقَالَ : وَكَيْفَ يَشْقَى رَجُلٌ بِغَيْرِ عَمَلٍ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ الرَّجُلُ : أَتَعْجَبُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ ؟ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِذَا مَرَّ بِالنُّطْفَةِ ثِنْتَانِ ، وَأَرْبَعُونَ لَيْلَةً ، بَعَثَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهَا مَلَكًا ، فَصَوَّرَهَا ، وَخَلَقَ سَمْعَهَا ، وَبَصَرَهَا ، وَجِلْدَهَا ، وَلَحْمَهَا ، وَعِظَامَهَا ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : يَا رَبِّ أَذَكَرٌ أَمْ أُنْثَى ؟ فَيَقْضِي رَبُّكَ مَا شَاءَ وَيَكْتُبُ الْمَلَكُ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : يَا رَبِّ أَجَلُهُ ؟ فَيَقُولُ رَبُّكَ مَا شَاءَ ، وَيَكْتُبُ الْمَلَكُ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : يَا رَبِّ رِزْقُهُ ؟ فَيَقْضِي رَبُّكَ مَا شَاءَ ، وَيَكْتُبُ الْمَلَكُ ، ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ الْمَلَكُ بِالصَّحِيفَةِ فِي يَدِهِ ، فَلَا يَزِيدُ عَلَى مَا أُمِرَ وَلَا يَنْقُصُ " .
'Abdullah bin Mas'ud reported: Evil one is he who is evil in the womb of his mother and the good one is he who takes lesson from the (fate of) others. The narrator came to a person from amongst the Companion of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) who was called Hudhaifa bin Usaid Ghifari and said: How can a person be an evil one without (committing an evil) deed? Thereupon the person said to him: You are surprised at this, whereas I have heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saving: When forty nights pass after the semen gets into the womb, Allah sends the angel and gives him the shape. Then he creates his sense of hearing, sense of sight, his skin, his flesh, his bones, and then says: My Lord, would he be male or female? And your Lord decides as He desires and the angel then puts down that also and then says: My Lord, what about his age? And your Lord decides as He likes it and the angel puts it down. Then he says: My Lord, what about his livelihood? And then the Lord decides as He likes and the angel writes it down, and then the angel gets out with his scroll of destiny in his hand and nothing is added to it and nothing is subtracted from it.
Hadith 2645
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ النَّوْفَلِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا الطُّفَيْلِ أَخْبَرَهُ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ ، يَقُولُ ، وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud through another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2648
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ يَحْيَي ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ سُرَاقَةُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، بَيِّنْ لَنَا دِينَنَا كَأَنَّا خُلِقْنَا الْآنَ ، فِيمَا الْعَمَلُ الْيَوْمَ ؟ أَفِيمَا جَفَّتْ بِهِ الْأَقْلَامُ وَجَرَتْ بِهِ الْمَقَادِيرُ ؟ أَمْ فِيمَا نَسْتَقْبِلُ ؟ قَالَ : لَا ، بَلْ فِيمَا جَفَّتْ بِهِ الْأَقْلَامُ وَجَرَتْ بِهِ الْمَقَادِيرُ ، قَالَ : فَفِيمَ الْعَمَلُ ، قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ : ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ بِشَيْءٍ لَمْ أَفْهَمْهُ ، فَسَأَلْتُ مَا قَالَ ؟ فَقَالَ : اعْمَلُوا ، فَكُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ " .
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) with the same wording (and includes these words): "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Every doer of deed is facilitated in his action."
Hadith 2648
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِهَذَا الْمَعْنَى وَفِيهِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : كُلُّ عَامِلٍ مُيَسَّرٌ لِعَمَلِهِ .
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) with the same wording (and includes these words): "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Every doer of deed is facilitated in his action."
Hadith 2733
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ صَفْوَانَ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ ، وَكَانَتْ تَحْتَهُ الدَّرْدَاءُ ، قَالَ : قَدِمْتُ الشَّامَ ، فَأَتَيْتُ أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ فِي مَنْزِلِهِ فَلَمْ أَجِدْهُ ، وَوَجَدْتُ أُمَّ الدَّرْدَاءِ ، فَقَالَتْ : أَتُرِيدُ الْحَجَّ الْعَامَ ؟ ، فَقُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَتْ : فَادْعُ اللَّهَ لَنَا بِخَيْرٍ ، فَإِنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، كَانَ يَقُولُ : " دَعْوَةُ الْمَرْءِ الْمُسْلِمِ لِأَخِيهِ بِظَهْرِ الْغَيْبِ مُسْتَجَابَةٌ عِنْدَ رَأْسِهِ مَلَكٌ مُوَكَّلٌ كُلَّمَا دَعَا لِأَخِيهِ بِخَيْرٍ ، قَالَ الْمَلَكُ الْمُوَكَّلُ بِهِ : آمِينَ وَلَكَ بِمِثْلٍ " ،
Safwan (and he was Ibn 'Abdullah bin Safwan, and he had been married to Umm Darda') reported: I visited Abu Darda's house in Syria. I did not find him there but Umm Darda' (was present at the house). She said: Do you intend to perform Hajj during this year? I said: Yes. She said: Do supplicate Allah for blessings upon us, for Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) (may peace be upon hiin) used to say: The supplication of a Muslim for his brother at his back (in his absence) is responded so long as he makes a supplication for blessings for his brother and the commissioned Angel says: Amen, and says: May it be for you too. I went to the bazar and met Abfi Dardi' and he narrated like this from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) .
Hadith 2780
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ يَصْعَدُ الثَّنِيَّةَ ثَنِيَّةَ الْمُرَارِ ، فَإِنَّهُ يُحَطُّ عَنْهُ مَا حُطَّ عَنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ " ، قَالَ : فَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ صَعِدَهَا خَيْلُنَا خَيْلُ بَنِي الْخَزْرَجِ ثُمَّ تَتَامَّ النَّاسُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَكُلُّكُمْ مَغْفُورٌ لَهُ إِلَّا صَاحِبَ الْجَمَلِ الْأَحْمَرِ " ، فَأَتَيْنَاهُ ، فَقُلْنَا لَهُ : تَعَالَ يَسْتَغْفِرْ لَكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : وَاللَّهِ لَأَنْ أَجِدَ ضَالَّتِي أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ يَسْتَغْفِرَ لِي صَاحِبُكُمْ ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ رَجُلٌ يَنْشُدُ ضَالَّةً لَهُ " ،
Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: He who climbed this hill, the hill of Murar, his sins would be obliterated as were obliterated the sins of Bani Isra'il. So the first to take their horses were the people of Banu Khazraj. Then there was a ceaseless flow of persons and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to them: All of you are those who have been pardoned except the owner of a red camel. We came to him and said to him: You also come on, so that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) may seek forgiveness for you. But he said: By Allah, so far as I am concerned, the finding of something lost is dearer to me than seeking of forgiveness for me by your companion (the Holy Prophet), and he remained busy in finding out his lost thing.
Hadith 2780
وحَدَّثَنَاه يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبٍ الْحَارِثِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا قُرَّةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ يَصْعَدُ ثَنِيَّةَ الْمُرَارِ أَوِ الْمَرَارِ ، بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ مُعَاذٍ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : وَإِذَا هُوَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ جَاءَ يَنْشُدُ ضَالَّةً لَهُ .
Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who would climb this hill of Murar. The rest of the hadith is the same but with this variation that it was a desert Arab who was finding out his lost thing.
Hadith 2813
حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " يَبْعَثُ الشَّيْطَانُ سَرَايَاهُ ، فَيَفْتِنُونَ النَّاسَ فَأَعْظَمُهُمْ عِنْدَهُ مَنْزِلَةً أَعْظَمُهُمْ فِتْنَةً " .
Jabir reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) (may peace be upqn him) said: The Satan sends detachments of his own in order to put people to trial and the highest in rank, in his eyes, is one who is most notorious in sowing the seed of dissension.
Hadith 2817
حَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا يُدْخِلُ أَحَدًا مِنْكُمْ عَمَلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ ، وَلَا يُجِيرُهُ مِنَ النَّارِ ، وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنَ اللَّهِ " .
Jabir reported: I heard Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying: None of you would get into Paradise because of his good deeds alone, and he would not be rescued from Fire, not even I, but because of the Mercy of Allah.
Hadith 2835
وحَدَّثَنِي الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، وَحَجَّاجُ بْنُ الشَّاعِرِ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ ، قَالَ حَسَنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَأْكُلُ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ فِيهَا وَيَشْرَبُونَ وَلَا يَتَغَوَّطُونَ وَلَا يَمْتَخِطُونَ وَلَا يَبُولُونَ ، وَلَكِنْ طَعَامُهُمْ ذَاكَ جُشَاءٌ كَرَشْحِ الْمِسْكِ يُلْهَمُونَ التَّسْبِيحَ وَالْحَمْدَ كَمَا تُلْهَمُونَ النَّفَسَ " ، قَالَ : وَفِي حَدِيثِ حَجَّاجٍ : طَعَامُهُمْ ذَلِكَ ،
Jabir bin 'Abdullah (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said that the inmates of Paradise would eat therein and they would also drink, but they would neither void excrement, nor suffer catarrh, nor pass water, and their eating (would be digested) in the form of belching and their sweat would be musk aged they would glorify and praise Allah as easily ai you breathe.
Hadith 2835
وحَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأُمَوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ لنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : وَيُلْهَمُونَ التَّسْبِيحَ وَالتَّكْبِيرَ كَمَا تُلْهَمُونَ النَّفَسَ .
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Jabir with a slight variation of wording.
Hadith 2877
وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو دَاوُدَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النُّعْمَانِ عَارِمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَاصِلٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ بِثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ ، يَقُولُ : " لَا يَمُوتَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَّا وَهُوَ يُحْسِنُ الظَّنَّ بِاللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
Jabir bin 'Abdullah al-Ansari reported: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) say three days before his death: None of you should die but hoping only good from Allah, the Exalted and Glorious.
Hadith 2945
حَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، يَقُولُ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمُّ شَرِيكٍ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " لَيَفِرَّنَّ النَّاسُ مِنَ الدَّجَّالِ فِي الْجِبَالِ " ، قَالَتْ أُمُّ شَرِيكٍ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَأَيْنَ الْعَرَبُ يَوْمَئِذٍ ، قَالَ : " هُمْ قَلِيلٌ " ،
Umm Sharik reported: I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The people would run away from the Dajjal seeking shelter in the mountains. She said: Where would be the Arabs then in that day? He said: They would be small in number.
