Hadith 695
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يَغْفُلُ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ ، أَوْ يَرْقُدُ عَنْهَا ؟ قَالَ : " يُصَلِّيهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` 'The Prophet was asked about a man who forgets prayer or sleeps and misses it. He said: 'he performs it when he remembers it.'"
Hadith 696
حَدَّثَنَا جُبَارَةُ بْنُ الْمُغَلِّسِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ نَسِيَ صَلَاةً فَلْيُصَلِّهَا إِذَا ذَكَرَهَا " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever forgets a prayer, let him perform it when he remembers it.'"
Hadith 729
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " الْتَمَسُوا شَيْئًا يُؤْذِنُونَ بِهِ عِلْمًا لِلصَّلَاةِ ، فَأُمِرَ بِلَالٌ أَنْ يَشْفَعَ الْأَذَانَ ، وَيُوتِرَ الْإِقَامَةَ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` "They looked for something by means of which they could call out informing of (the time of) the prayer. Then Bilal was commanded to say the phrases of the Adhan twice and the phrases of the Iqamah once."
Hadith 730
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " أُمِرَ بِلَالٌ أَنْ يَشْفَعَ الْأَذَانَ ، وَيُوتِرَ الْإِقَامَةَ " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` "Bilal was commanded to say the phrases of the Adhan twice and the phrases of the Iqamah once."
Hadith 739
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى يَتَبَاهَى النَّاسُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'The Hour will not begin until the people compete in (building) mosques.'"
Hadith 742
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ الضُّبَعِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ مَوْضِعُ مَسْجِدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِبَنِي النَّجَّارِ ، وَكَانَ فِيهِ نَخْلٌ وَمَقَابِرُ لِلْمُشْرِكِينَ ، فَقَالَ لَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ثَامِنُونِي بِهِ " ، قَالُوا : لَا نَأْخُذُ لَهُ ثَمَنًا أَبَدًا ، قَالَ : فَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَبْنِيهِ وَهُمْ يُنَاوِلُونَهُ ، وَالنَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " أَلَا إِنَّ الْعَيْشَ عَيْشُ الْآخِرَهِ ، فَاغْفِرْ لِلْأَنْصَارِ وَالْمُهَاجِرَهِ " ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي قَبْلَ أَنْ يَبْنِيَ الْمَسْجِدَ حَيْثُ أَدْرَكَتْهُ الصَّلَاةُ .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` "The location where the Prophet's Mosque was built belonged to Banu Najjar. In it there were date-palm trees and graves of the idolaters. The Prophet said to them: 'Name its price.' They said: 'We will never take any money for it.' The Prophet built it and they were assisting him, and the Prophet was saying: 'The real life is the life of the Hereafter so forgive the Ansar and the Muhajirah.' Before the mosque was built, the Prophet would perform prayer wherever he was when the time for prayer came."
Hadith 756
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ الْجَارُودِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " صَنَعَ بَعْضُ عُمُومَتِي لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ طَعَامًا ، فَقَالَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنِّي أُحِبُّ أَنْ تَأْكُلَ فِي بَيْتِي ، وَتُصَلِّيَ فِيهِ ، قَالَ : فَأَتَاهُ وَفِي الْبَيْتِ فَحْلٌ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْفُحُولِ ، فَأَمَرَ بِنَاحِيَةٍ مِنْهُ ، فَكُنِسَ وَرُشَّ ، فَصَلَّى وَصَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ بْن مَاجَةَ : الْفَحْلُ هُوَ : الْحَصِيرُ الَّذِي قَدِ اسْوَدَّ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` "One of my paternal uncles made some food for the Prophet and said to the Prophet: 'I would like you to eat and perform prayer in my house.' So he went to him, and in his house there was one of these Fahl. He ordered that a corner be swept and water sprinkled in it, then he performed prayer and we prayed with him.'" (Sahih)Abu 'Abdullah bin Majah said: A Fahl is a mat that has become black (through use).
Hadith 762
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَائِذُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى نُخَامَةً فِي قِبْلَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَغَضِبَ حَتَّى احْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ ، فَجَاءَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ فَحَكَّتْهَا ، وَجَعَلَتْ مَكَانَهَا خَلُوقًا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا أَحْسَنَ هَذَا " .
´It was narrated from Anas that:` The Prophet saw some sputum in the prayer direction of the mosque and he became so angry that his face turned red. Then a woman from among the Ansar came and scraped it off, and put some Khaluq on that spot. The Messenger of Allah said: "How good this is."
Hadith 781
حَدَّثَنَا مَجْزَأَةُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ مَوْلَى ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الصَّائِغُ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ الْبُنَانِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بَشِّرِ الْمَشَّائِينَ فِي الظُّلَمِ إِلَى الْمَسَاجِدِ بِالنُّورِ التَّامِّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Give glad tidings to those who walk to the mosques in the dark, of perfect light on the Day of Resurrection.'"
Hadith 784
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : أَرَادَتْ بَنُو سَلِمَةَ أَنْ يَتَحَوَّلُوا مِنْ دِيَارِهِمْ إِلَى قُرْبِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَكَرِهَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُعْرُوا الْمَدِينَةَ ، فَقَالَ : " يَا بَنِي سَلِمَةَ أَلَا تَحْتَسِبُونَ آثَارَكُمْ " ، فَأَقَامُوا .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` "Banu Salimah wanted to move from their homes to somewhere near the mosque, but the Prophet did not want the outskirts of Al-madinah to be left vacant, so he said: 'O Banu Salimah, do you not hope for the reward of your footsteps?' So they stayed (where they were)."
Hadith 798
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ صَلَّى فِي مَسْجِدٍ جَمَاعَةً أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً لَا تَفُوتُهُ الرَّكْعَةُ الْأُولَى مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ ، كَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهَا عِتْقًا مِنَ النَّارِ " .
´It was narrated from 'Umar bin Khattab that:` The Prophet used to say: "Whoever performs prayer in congregation at the mosque for forty nights, never missing the first Rak'ah of the 'Isha' prayer, Allah will thereby decree for him salvation from the Fire."
Hadith 813
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا جُبَارَةُ بْنُ الْمُغَلِّسِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرُ " يَفْتَتِحُونَ الْقِرَاءَةَ بِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Abu Bakr and ‘Umar used to start their recitation with ‘All the praises and thanks are to Allah, the Lord of all that exists (Al-hamdu Lillahi Rabbil-‘Alamin).” [1:2]
Hadith 866
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ " .
It was narrated from Anas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to raise his hands when he entered prayer, and when he bowed in Ruku’.
Hadith 876
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا قَالَ الْإِمَامُ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ، فَقُولُوا : رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “When the Imam says: ‘Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hears those who praise Him),’ say: ‘Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (O our Lord, to You is the praise).’”
Hadith 892
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ ، وَلَا يَسْجُدْ أَحَدُكُمْ وَهُوَ بَاسِطٌ ذِرَاعَيْهِ كَالْكَلْبِ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “Be balanced in prostration; none of you should prostrate with his arms spread out like a dog.”
Hadith 896
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا الْعَلَاءُ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ لِي النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا رَفَعْتَ رَأْسَكَ مِنَ السُّجُودِ فَلَا تُقْعِ كَمَا يُقْعِي الْكَلْبُ ، ضَعْ أَلْيَتَيْكَ بَيْنَ قَدَمَيْكَ وَأَلْزِقْ ظَاهِرَ قَدَمَيْكَ بِالْأَرْضِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me: ‘When you raise your head from prostration, do not squat like a dog. Put your buttocks between your feet and let the tops of your feet touch the ground.”
Hadith 933
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ ّرَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` “If food is served and the Iqamah for prayer is given, then start with the food.”
Hadith 975
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُخْتَارِ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِامْرَأَةٍ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ وَبِي ، فَأَقَامَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، وَصَلَّتِ الْمَرْأَةُ خَلْفَنَا " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led a woman of his household and myself in prayer. I stood to his right and the woman stood behind us.”
Hadith 977
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَلِيَهُ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ وَالْأَنْصَار لِيَأْخُذُوا عَنْهُ " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) liked the Muhajirun and Ansar to stand closest to him, so that they could learn from him.”
Hadith 985
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، وَحُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ صُهَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُوجِزُ وَيُتِمُّ الصَّلَاةَ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to make his prayer brief but perfect.”
Hadith 989
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنِّي لَأَدْخُلُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ إِطَالَتَهَا ، فَأَسْمَعُ بُكَاءَ الصَّبِيِّ ، فَأَتَجَوَّزُ فِي صَلَاتِي مِمَّا أَعْلَمُ لِوَجْدِ أُمِّهِ بِبُكَائِهِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘I start prayer and I want to make it long, but then I hear an infant crying, so I make my prayer short, because I know the distress caused to the mother by his crying.’”
Hadith 993
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، وَبِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سَوُّوا صُفُوفَكُمْ ، فَإِنَّ تَسْوِيَةَ الصُّفُوفِ مِنْ تَمَامِ الصَّلَاةِ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Make your rows straight, for straightening the rows is part of completing the prayer.’”
Hadith 1009
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عُمَرُ " قُلْتُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، لَوِ اتَّخَذْتَ مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى ، فَنَزَلَتْ : " وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى سورة البقرة آية 125 " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik told that ‘Umar said:` “I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), why do you not take the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of prayer?’ Then the following was revealed: ‘And take you (people) the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of prayer.’” [2:125]
Hadith 1024
حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَخْزَمَ ، وَعَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " بَزَقَ فِي ثَوْبِهِ وَهُوَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ ، ثُمَّ دَلَكَهُ " .
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) spat on his garment while he was performing prayer, then he rubbed it.
Hadith 1033
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ ، عَنْ غَالِبٍ الْقَطَّانِ ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي شِدَّةِ الْحَرِّ ، فَإِذَا لَمْ يَقْدِرْ أَحَدُنَا أَنْ يُمَكِّنَ جَبْهَتَهُ ، بَسَطَ ثَوْبَهُ فَسَجَدَ عَلَيْهِ ".
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “We used to perform prayer with the Prophet (ﷺ) when it was very hot. When one of us could not place his forehead firmly on the ground, he would spread his garment and prostrate on it.”
Hadith 1044
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا بِأَصْحَابِهِ ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى الصَّلَاةَ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى الْقَوْمِ بِوَجْهِهِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا بَالُ أَقْوَامٍ يَرْفَعُونَ أَبْصَارَهُمْ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ ، حَتَّى اشْتَدَّ قَوْلُهُ فِي ذَلِكَ : لَيَنْتَهُنَّ عَنْ ذَلِكَ أَوْ لَيَخْطَفَنَّ اللَّهُ أَبْصَارَهُمْ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led his Companions in prayer one day. When he had finished prayer he turned to face the people and said: ‘What is wrong with some people that they lift their gaze to the heavens?’ He spoke severely concerning that: ‘They should certainly abstain from that or Allah will snatch away their sight.’”
Hadith 1077
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاق ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ الْمَدِينَةِ إِلَى مَكَّةَ ، فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، حَتَّى رَجَعْنَا " ، قُلْتُ : كَمْ أَقَامَ بِمَكَّةَ ، قَالَ : عَشْرًا .
´Yahya bin Abu Ishaq narrated that Anas said:` “We went out with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) from Al-Madinah to Makkah, during which time we shortened our prayer to two Rak’ah, until we came back.” I asked: “How long did he stay in Makkah?” He said: “Ten (days).”
Hadith 1080
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَيْسَ بَيْنَ الْعَبْدِ وَالشِّرْكِ إِلَّا تَرْكُ الصَّلَاةِ ، فَإِذَا تَرَكَهَا فَقَدْ أَشْرَكَ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “There is nothing standing between a person and Shirk (polytheism) except leaving the prayer, so if he leaves it he has committed Shirk.”
Hadith 1091
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الْمَكِّيُّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ الرَّقَاشِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ تَوَضَّأَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَبِهَا وَنِعْمَتْ يُجْزِئُ عَنْهُ الْفَرِيضَةُ ، وَمَنِ اغْتَسَلَ فَالْغُسْلُ أَفْضَلُ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:` “Whoever performs ablution on Friday, it is well and good for him, and he has done what is obligatory for him. But whoever takes a bath, bath is better.”
Hadith 1102
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا نُجَمِّعُ ، ثُمَّ نَرْجِعُ فَنَقِيلُ " .
´It was narrated that Anas said:` “We used to perform the Friday (prayer), then we would return for a nap (Qailulah).”
Hadith 1117
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يُكَلَّمُ فِي الْحَاجَةِ إِذَا نَزَلَ عَنِ الْمِنْبَرِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ " .
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the people used to speak to the Prophet (ﷺ) about their needs when he came down from the pulpit on Friday.
Hadith 1163
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ زَيْدِ بْنِ جُدْعَانَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنْ كَانَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ لَيُؤَذِّنُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَيُرَى أَنَّهَا الْإِقَامَةُ مِنْ كَثْرَةِ مَنْ يَقُومُ فَيُصَلِّي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْمَغْرِبِ " .
´‘Ali bin Zaid bin Jud’an said:` “I heard Anas bin Malik say: ‘The Mu ’adh-dhin would call the Adhan during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and one would think that it was the Iqamah because there were so many people who stood and performed the two Rak’ah before the Maghrib.”
Hadith 1180
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ لَا يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ فِي شَيْءٍ مِنْ دُعَائِهِ إِلَّا عِنْدَ الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ ، فَإِنَّهُ كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ إِبْطَيْهِ " .
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Prophet (ﷺ) did not raise his hands in any of his supplications except when praying for rain (Istisqa’), when he raised his hands so high that the whiteness of his armpits could be seen.
Hadith 1183
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ عَنِ الْقُنُوتِ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ ، فَقَالَ : " كُنَّا نَقْنُتُ قَبْلَ الرُّكُوعِ وَبَعْدَهُ " .
´It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:` He was asked about Qunut in the Subh prayer, and he said: “We used to recite Qunut before Ruku’ and afterwards.”
Hadith 1184
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ عَنِ الْقُنُوتِ ، فَقَالَ : " قَنَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعْدَ الرُّكُوعِ " .
´It was narrated that Muhammad said:` “I asked Anas bin Malik about Qunut, and he said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited Qunut after Ruku’.’”
Hadith 1230
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَرَجَ فَرَأَى أُنَاسًا يُصَلُّونَ قُعُودًا ، فَقَالَ : " صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out and saw some people praying while sitting down. He said:` “The prayer of one who sits down is equivalent to half of the prayer of one who stands.”
Hadith 1238
حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صُرِعَ عَنْ فَرَسٍ ، فَجُحِشَ شِقُّهُ الْأَيْمَنُ ، فَدَخَلْنَا نَعُودُهُ ، وَحَضَرَتَ الصَّلَاةُ ، فَصَلَّى بِنَا قَاعِدًا ، وَصَلَّيْنَا وَرَاءَهُ قُعُودًا ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى الصَّلَاةَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الْإِمَامُ لِيُؤْتَمَّ بِهِ ، فَإِذَا كَبَّرَ فَكَبِّرُوا ، وَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَارْكَعُوا ، وَإِذَا قَالَ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ، فَقُولُوا : رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ ، وَإِذَا سَجَدَ فَاسْجُدُوا ، وَإِذَا صَلَّى قَاعِدًا ، فَصَلُّوا قُعُودًا أَجْمَعِينَ " .
´It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Prophet (ﷺ) fell from his horse and he suffered some lacerations on his right side. We went to visit him and the time for prayer came. He led us in prayer sitting down, and we prayed behind him sitting down. When he finished the prayer he said:` “The Imam is appointed to be followed. When he says Allahu Akbar, then say Allahu Akbar; when he bows, then bow; when he says Sami’ Allahu liman hamidah, then say Rabbana wa lakal-hamd; when he prostrates then prostrate; and if he prays sitting down then pray sitting down.”
Hadith 1243
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يَقْنُتُ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ ، يَدْعُو عَلَى حَيٍّ مِنْ أَحْيَاءِ الْعَرَبِ شَهْرًا ، ثُمَّ تَرَكَ " .
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite Qunut in the Subh prayer, and he used to supplicate in it against one of the Arab tribes for a month, then he stopped doing so.
Hadith 1306
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأَيْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " صَلَّى الْعِيدَ بِالْمُصَلَّى مُسْتَتِرًا بِحَرْبَةٍ " .
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed ‘Eid at the prayer place, using a small spear as a Sutrah.
Hadith 1353
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ عَنْ قِرَاءَةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " كَانَ يَمُدُّ صَوْتَهُ مَدًّا " .
´It was narrated that Qatadah said; “I asked Anas bin Malik about the recitation of the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said:` ‘He used to elongate his voice.’”
