Hadith 2366
وحَدَّثَنِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَقَالَا : يَمَسُّهُ حِينَ يُولَدُ ، فَيَسْتَهِلُّ صَارِخًا مِنْ مَسَّةِ الشَّيْطَانِ إِيَّاهُ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ شُعَيْبٍ : مِنْ مَسِّ الشَّيْطَانِ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters (and the words are): "The newborn child is touched by the satan (when he comes in the world) and he starts crying because of the touch of satan." In the hadith transmitted on the authority of Shu'aib there is a slight variation of wording.
Hadith 2368
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، قَالَ : هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " رَأَى عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ، رَجُلًا يَسْرِقُ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ عِيسَى : سَرَقْتَ ، قَالَ : كَلَّا ، وَالَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ، فَقَالَ عِيسَى : آمَنْتُ بِاللَّهِ ، وَكَذَّبْتُ نَفْسِي " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported ahadith from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (and one of them was) that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said Jesus son of Mary saw a person committing theft; thereupon Jesus said to him: You committed theft. He said: Nay. By Him besides Whom there is no god (I have not committed theft). Thereupon Jesus said: I affirm my faith in Allah. It is my ownself that deceived me.
Hadith 339
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، قَالَ : هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ يَغْتَسِلُونَ عُرَاةً ، يَنْظُرُ بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَى سَوْأَةِ بَعْضٍ ، وَكَانَ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام ، يَغْتَسِلُ وَحْدَهُ ، فَقَالُوا : وَاللَّهِ مَا يَمْنَعُ مُوسَى أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ مَعَنَا ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ آدَرُ ، قَالَ : فَذَهَبَ مَرَّةً يَغْتَسِلُ ، فَوَضَعَ ثَوْبَهُ عَلَى حَجَرٍ ، فَفَرَّ الْحَجَرُ بِثَوْبِهِ ، قَالَ : فَجَمَحَ مُوسَى بِأَثَرِهِ ، يَقُولُ : ثَوْبِي حَجَرُ ، ثَوْبِي حَجَرُ ، حَتَّى نَظَرَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ إِلَى سَوْأَةِ مُوسَى ، فَقَالُوا : وَاللَّهِ مَا بِمُوسَى مِنْ بَأْسٍ ، فَقَامَ الْحَجَرُ بَعْدُ ، حَتَّى نُظِرَ إِلَيْهِ ، قَالَ : فَأَخَذَ ثَوْبَهُ ، فَطَفِقَ بِالْحَجَرِ ضَرْبًا ، قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : وَاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ بِالْحَجَرِ نَدَبٌ سِتَّةٌ ، أَوْ سَبْعَةٌ ، ضَرْبُ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام بِالْحَجَرِ " .
Hammam bin Munabbih reported that Abu Hurairah (RA) reported many ahadith from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and one of them speaks that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) is reported to have said: Banu Isra'il used to take bath (together) naked and thus saw private parts of one another, but Moses (ؑ) (peace be upon him) used to take bath alone (in privacy), and they said: By Allah, nothing prevents Moses (ؑ) to take bath along with us; but scrotal hernia. One day when he ( Moses (ؑ)) was taking bath (alone) he placed his clothes upon a stone, but the stone began to move along with his clothes. Moses (ؑ) raced after it saying: My garment, stone; until (some of the people) of Banu Isra'il looked at the private parts of Moses (ؑ), and they said: By Allah, there is no trouble with Moses (ؑ). The stone stopped after he ( Moses (ؑ)) had been seen. He took hold of his garments and struck the stone. Abu Hurairah (RA) said: I swear by Allah that there were six or seven scars on the stone because of the striking of stone by Moses (ؑ) (peace be upon him).
Hadith 2372
وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا ، وقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " أُرْسِلَ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ إِلَى مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام ، فَلَمَّا جَاءَهُ صَكَّهُ ، فَفَقَأَ عَيْنَهُ ، فَرَجَعَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ ، فَقَالَ : أَرْسَلْتَنِي إِلَى عَبْدٍ لَا يُرِيدُ الْمَوْتَ ، قَالَ ، فَرَدَّ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ عَيْنَهُ ، وَقَالَ : ارْجِعْ إِلَيْهِ ، فَقُلْ لَهُ : يَضَعُ يَدَهُ عَلَى مَتْنِ ثَوْرٍ ، فَلَهُ بِمَا غَطَّتْ يَدُهُ بِكُلِّ شَعْرَةٍ سَنَةٌ ، قَالَ : أَيْ رَبِّ ثُمَّ مَهْ ؟ قَالَ : ثُمَّ الْمَوْتُ ، قَالَ : فَالْآنَ ، فَسَأَلَ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُدْنِيَهُ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ الْمُقَدَّسَةِ رَمْيَةً بِحَجَرٍ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَلَوْ كُنْتُ ثَمَّ ، لَأَرَيْتُكُمْ قَبْرَهُ إِلَى جَانِبِ الطَّرِيقِ ، تَحْتَ الْكَثِيبِ الْأَحْمَرِ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that the Angel of Death was sent to Moses (ؑ) (peace be upon him) to inform of his Lord's summons. When he came, he ( Moses (ؑ)) boxed him and his eye was knocked out. He (the Angel of Death) came back to the Lord and said: You sent me to a servant who did not want to die. Allah restored his eye to its proper place (and revived his eyesight), and then said: Go back to him and tell him that if he wants life he must place his hand on the back of an ox, and he would be granted as many years of life as the number of hair covered by his hand. He ( Moses (ؑ)) said: My Lord what would happen then? He said: Then you must court death. He said: Let it be now. And he supplicated Allah to bring him close to the sacred land. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: If I were there, I would have shown you his grave beside the road at the red mound.
Hadith 2372
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، قَالَ : هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " جَاءَ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ إِلَى مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : أَجِبْ رَبَّكَ ، قَالَ : فَلَطَمَ مُوسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام عَيْنَ مَلَكِ الْمَوْتِ ، فَفَقَأَهَا ، قَالَ : فَرَجَعَ الْمَلَكُ إِلَى اللَّهِ تَعَالَى ، فَقَالَ : إِنَّكَ أَرْسَلْتَنِي إِلَى عَبْدٍ لَكَ ، لَا يُرِيدُ الْمَوْتَ ، وَقَدْ فَقَأَ عَيْنِي ، قَالَ : فَرَدَّ اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ عَيْنَهُ ، وَقَالَ : ارْجِعْ إِلَى عَبْدِي ، فَقُلِ الْحَيَاةَ تُرِيدُ ، فَإِنْ كُنْتَ تُرِيدُ الْحَيَاةَ ، فَضَعْ يَدَكَ عَلَى مَتْنِ ثَوْرٍ ، فَمَا تَوَارَتْ يَدُكَ مِنْ شَعْرَةٍ ، فَإِنَّكَ تَعِيشُ بِهَا سَنَةً ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ مَهْ ؟ قَالَ : ثُمَّ تَمُوتُ ، قَالَ : فَالْآنَ مِنْ قَرِيبٍ ، رَبِّ أَمِتْنِي مِنَ الْأَرْضِ الْمُقَدَّسَةِ ، رَمْيَةً بِحَجَرٍ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاللَّهِ : " لَوْ أَنِّي عِنْدَهُ ، لَأَرَيْتُكُمْ قَبْرَهُ إِلَى جَانِبِ الطَّرِيقِ ، عِنْدَ الْكَثِيبِ الْأَحْمَرِ " ،
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) having said that the Angel of Death came to Moses (ؑ) and said: Respond (to the call) of Allah (i. e. be prepared for death). Moses (ؑ) (peace be upon him) gave a blow at the eye of the Angel of Death and knocked it out. The Angel went back to Allah (the Exalted) and said: You sent me to your servant who does not like to die and he knocked out my eye. Allah restored his eye to its proper place (and revived his eyesight) and said: Go to My servant and say: Do you want life? And in case you want life, keep your hand on the body of the ox and you would live such number of years as the (number of) hair your hand covers. He ( Moses (ؑ)) said: What, then? He said: Then you would die, whereupon he ( Moses (ؑ)) said: Then why not now? (He then prayed): Allah, cause me to die close to the sacred land. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Had I been near that place I would have shown his grave by the side of the path at the red mound.
Hadith 2388
وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْحَفَرِيُّ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِهِمَا ذِكْرُ الْبَقَرَةِ وَالشَّاةِ مَعًا ، وَقَالَا فِي حَدِيثِهِمَا : فَإِنِّي أُومِنُ بِهِ أَنَا وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ ، وَعُمَرُ وَمَا هُمَا ثَمَّ .
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Zuhri, and there is a clear mention of the stories of ox and goat (and the words are): I believe in it and so do Abu Bakr (RA) and Umar, but they were not at that time present there.
Hadith 2460
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ رَافِعٍ ، قَالَ إِسْحَاقُ : أَخْبَرَنَا ، وقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : " قَدِمْتُ أَنَا وَأَخِي مِنْ الْيَمَنِ ، فَكُنَّا حِينًا وَمَا نُرَى ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ وَأُمَّهُ إِلَّا مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، مِنْ كَثْرَةِ دُخُولِهِمْ وَلُزُومِهِمْ لَهُ " .
Abu Musa reported: When I and my brother came from Yemen we used to consider Ibn Mas'ud and his mother amongst the members of the household of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) because of their visiting them frequently and staying there for long (periods of) time.
Hadith 2476
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ يَعْنِي الْفَزَارِيَّ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَقَالَ فِي حَدِيثِ مَرْوَانَ : فَجَاءَ بَشِيرُ جَرِيرٍ أَبُو أَرْطَاةَ حُصَيْنُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ يُبَشِّرُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ismail with different chains of transmitters and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Marwan (the words are):" A person giving the glad tidings on behalf of Jarir came or Abu Husain bin Rabi'ah came in order to give glad tidings to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) .
Hadith 2485
حَدَّثَنَاه إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ : أَنَّ حَسَّانَ ، قَالَ فِي حَلْقَةٍ فِيهِمْ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ : أَنْشُدُكَ اللَّهَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَسَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ .
Ibn Musayyib reported that Hassan said to a circle in which there was also Abu Hurairah (RA) : Abu Hurairah (RA) , I adjure you by Allah (to tell) whether you-had not heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying like this.
Hadith 2515
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، وَسُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي وَرْقَاءُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، عَنْ أَبِي عَاصِمٍ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْقِلٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ كُلُّهُمْ ، قَالَ : عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَسْلَمُ سَالَمَهَا اللَّهُ وَغِفَارُ غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهَا " .
This hadith has been reported on the authority of Shu'bah with the same chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2527
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ عَبْدٌ : أَخْبَرَنَا ، وقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَطَبَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي قَدْ كَبِرْتُ وَلِي عِيَالٌ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : خَيْرُ نِسَاءٍ رَكِبْنَ ، ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ يُونُسَ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : أَحْنَاهُ عَلَى وَلَدٍ فِي صِغَرِهِ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) gave a proposal of marriage to Umm Hani, the daughter of Abu Talib, whereupon she said: Allah's Messenger, I am of an advanced age with a (large) family. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: The best women are those who ride (the camels) ; the rest of the hadith is the same but with this difference that, instead of the word Ar'a the word Ahna has been used (and the complete sentence is like this): That they treat children in their childhood with affection.
Hadith 2527
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، قَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا ، وقَالَ عَبْدٌ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . ح ، وحَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خَيْرُ نِسَاءٍ رَكِبْنَ الْإِبِلَ صَالِحُ نِسَاءِ قُرَيْشٍ ، أَحْنَاهُ عَلَى وَلَدٍ فِي صِغَرِهِ ، وَأَرْعَاهُ عَلَى زَوْجٍ فِي ذَاتِ يَدِهِ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The best women who ride the camels are the pious women of the Quraish; they treat with affection children in their childhood and keep a strict watch on the wealth of their spouses.
Hadith 2535
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ سَعِيدٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَبَابَةُ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِهِمْ ، قَالَ : لَا أَدْرِي أَذَكَرَ بَعْدَ قَرْنِهِ قَرْنَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلَاثَةً ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ شَبَابَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ زَهْدَمَ بْنَ مُضَرِّبٍ ، وَجَاءَنِي فِي حَاجَةٍ عَلَى فَرَسٍ ، فَحَدَّثَنِي أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عِمْرَانَ بْنَ حُصَيْنٍ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ يَحْيَي ، وَشَبَابَةَ : يَنْذُرُونَ وَلَا يَفُونَ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ بَهْزٍ : يُوفُونَ كَمَا ، قَالَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ .
This hadith has been reported on the authority of Shu'bah with the same chain of transmitters (and the words are): I do not know whether he made a mention of two generations after his generation or of the third one too. Shababa said: I heard this from Zahdam bin Mudarrib as he came to me riding a horse for some need and he narrated it to me that he had heard it from 'Imran bin Husain, and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Yahya and Shababa (the words are): They take an oath but they do not fulfil it, and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Bahz there the word is Yafun as transmitted on the authority of Ibn Ja'far.
Hadith 2537
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا ، وقَالَ عَبْدٌ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، أن عبد الله بن عمر ، قَالَ : صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ صَلَاةَ الْعِشَاءِ فِي آخِرِ حَيَاتِهِ ، فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَامَ ، فَقَالَ : أَرَأَيْتَكُمْ لَيْلَتَكُمْ هَذِهِ ، فَإِنَّ عَلَى رَأْسِ مِائَةِ سَنَةٍ مِنْهَا لَا يَبْقَى مِمَّنْ هُوَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْأَرْضِ أَحَدٌ ، قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ : فَوَهَلَ النَّاسُ فِي مَقَالَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تِلْكَ فِيمَا يَتَحَدَّثُونَ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْأَحَادِيثِ عَنْ مِائَةِ سَنَةٍ ، وَإِنَّمَا قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَبْقَى مِمَّنْ هُوَ الْيَوْمَ عَلَى ظَهْرِ الْأَرْضِ أَحَدٌ " ، يُرِيدُ بِذَلِكَ أَنْ يَنْخَرِمَ ذَلِكَ الْقَرْنُ .
''Abdullah bin 'Umar (RA) reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) led us 'Isha' prayer at the latter part of the night and when he had concluded it by salutations he stood up and said: Have you seen this night of yours? At the end of one hundred years after this none would survive on the surface of the earth (from amount my Companions). Ibn 'Umar (RA) said: People were (not understanding) these words of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) which had been uttered pertaining to one hundred years. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) in fact meant (by these words) that on that day none from amongst those who had been living upon the earth (from amongst his Companions) would survive (after one hundred years) and that would be the end of this generation.
Hadith 2546
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، قَالَ عَبْدٌ : أَخْبَرَنَا ، وقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ الْجَزَرِيِّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْ كَانَ الدِّينُ عِنْدَ الثُّرَيَّا لَذَهَبَ بِهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ فَارِسَ ، أَوَ قَالَ : مِنْ أَبْنَاءِ فَارِسَ حَتَّى يَتَنَاوَلَهُ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: If the din were at the Pleiades, even then a person from Persia would have taken hold of it, or one amongst the Persian descent would have surely found it.
Hadith 2547
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، واللفظ لمحمد ، قَالَ عَبْدٌ : أَخْبَرَنَا ، وقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَجِدُونَ النَّاسَ كَإِبِلٍ مِائَةٍ لَا يَجِدُ الرَّجُلُ فِيهَا رَاحِلَةً " .
Ibn 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: You would find people like one hundred camels and you would not find even one (camel) fit for riding.
Hadith 2556
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ ، وَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2558
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زُرَيْعٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد كلاهما ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، أَمَّا رِوَايَةُ يَزِيدَ عَنْهُ ، فَكَرِوَايَةِ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، يَذْكُرُ الْخِصَالَ الْأَرْبَعَةَ جَمِيعًا ، وَأَمَّا حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ : وَلَا تَحَاسَدُوا ، وَلَا تَقَاطَعُوا ، وَلَا تَدَابَرُوا .
This hadith has been narrated through another chain of transmitters and the hadith transmitted on the authority of Abdul Razziq (the words are):" Neither nurse grudge nor sever (the ties of kinship), nor nurse enemity."
Hadith 2560
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَي ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا حَاجِبُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْحَنْظَلِيُّ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، بِإِسْنَادِ مَالِكٍ ، وَمِثْلِ حَدِيثِهِ إِلَّا قَوْلَهُ ، فَيُعْرِضُ هَذَا وَيُعْرِضُ هَذَا ، فَإِنَّهُمْ جَمِيعًا قَالُوا فِي حَدِيثِهِمْ غَيْرَ مَالِكٍ ، فَيَصُدُّ هَذَا وَيَصُدُّ هَذَا .
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Zuhri with a slight variation of wording (and the words are):" The one turning away and the other turning away when they meet and one avoids the other and the other also avoids him."
Hadith 2561
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا الضَّحَّاكُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا يَحِلُّ لِلْمُؤْمِنِ أَنْ يَهْجُرَ أَخَاهُ فَوْقَ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ " .
'Abdullah bin 'Umar reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: It is not permissible for a Muslim to have estranged relations with his brother beyond three days.
Hadith 2571
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ ، وَيَحْيَي بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي غَنِيَّةَ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ ، بِإِسْنَادِ جَرِيرٍ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِهِ ، وَزَادَ فِي حَدِيثِ أَبِي مُعَاوِيَةَ ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مُسْلِمٌ .
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of jarir and the hadith transmitted on the authority of Abu Mu'awiyahh (RA) there is an addition of these words: He said: Yes, by Him in Whose Hand is my life, there is no Muslim upon the earth." The rest of the hadith is the same.
Hadith 2584
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَإِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، قَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا ، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " كَسَعَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ رَجُلًا مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ ، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَسَأَلَهُ الْقَوَدَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : دَعُوهَا فَإِنَّهَا مُنْتِنَةٌ " ، قَالَ ابْنُ مَنْصُورٍ فِي رِوَايَتِهِ : عَمْرٌو ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا .
Jabir bin 'Abdullah reported that a person from the emigrants struck the back of an Ansari. He came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) and asked for compensation. Thereupon Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: Leave it. for it is something disgusting. Ibn Mansur said that in the narration transmitted on the authority of Amr (these words are also found):" I heard Jabir."
Hadith 2591
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، فِي هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَ مَعْنَاهُ غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ ، قَالَ : بِئْسَ أَخُو الْقَوْمِ ، وَابْنُ الْعَشِيرَةِ .
This hadith has been reported on the authority of Ibn Munkadir with the same chain of transmitters but with a slight variation of wording.
Hadith 2609
وحَدَّثَنَاه مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ بِهْرَامَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِمِثْلِهِ .
This hadith has been reported on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) through another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2617
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، قَالَ : هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يُشِيرُ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى أَخِيهِ بِالسِّلَاحِ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي أَحَدُكُمْ لَعَلَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَنْزِعُ فِي يَدِهِ ، فَيَقَعُ فِي حُفْرَةٍ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported a hadith from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) ; (one of them was this) that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: None amongst you should point a weapon towards his brother, for he does not know that Satan might cause the weapon (to slip) from his hand and (he may injure anyone) and thus he may fall into Hell-Fire.
Hadith 2619
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، قَالَ : هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " دَخَلَتِ امْرَأَةٌ النَّارَ مِنْ جَرَّاءِ هِرَّةٍ لَهَا ، أَوْ هِرٍّ رَبَطَتْهَا ، فَلَا هِيَ أَطْعَمَتْهَا وَلَا هِيَ أَرْسَلَتْهَا تُرَمْرِمُ مِنْ خَشَاشِ الْأَرْضِ ، حَتَّى مَاتَتْ هَزْلًا " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) A hadith out of which one was this that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: A woman got into Hell-Fire because of a cat whom she had tied, and thus it could not eat, and she did not let it free so that it could devour the insects of the earth, until it died.
Hadith 2632
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، وَزُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ وَابْنُ رَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِإِسْنَادِ مَالِكٍ ، وَبِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِهِ ، إِلَّا أَنَّ فِي حَدِيثِ سُفْيَانَ : فَيَلِجَ النَّارَ إِلَّا تَحِلَّةَ الْقَسَمِ .
This hadith has been reported by Zuhri on the authority of Malik, and in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Sufyan (the words are): "He would enter into Fire, except for the fulfilment of the oath."
Hadith 2639
حَدَّثَنِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ عَبْدٌ : أَخْبَرَنَا ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ : أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَعْرَابِ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِمِثْلِهِ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَثِيرٍ أَحْمَدُ عَلَيْهِ نَفْسِي .
Anas reported that a person said to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) : When would be the Last Hour? He (the Holy Prophet) said: What preparation have you made for that? And he gave no details, but said: I love Allah and His Messenger. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: You would be along with one whom you love.
Hadith 2652
حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ النَّجَّارِ الْيَمَامِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِهِمْ .

Hadith 2658
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، قَالَ : هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ يُولَدْ يُولَدْ عَلَى هَذِهِ الْفِطْرَةِ فَأَبَوَاهُ يُهَوِّدَانِهِ ، وَيُنَصِّرَانِهِ ، كَمَا تَنْتِجُونَ الْإِبِلَ ، فَهَلْ تَجِدُونَ فِيهَا جَدْعَاءَ ؟ حَتَّى تَكُونُوا أَنْتُمْ تَجْدَعُونَهَا ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَفَرَأَيْتَ مَنْ يَمُوتُ صَغِيرًا ، قَالَ : اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا كَانُوا عَامِلِينَ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported from Allah's Messenger (may peace be upom him) many ahadith and one amongst them is that he is reported to have said: An infant is born according to his (true) nature. It is his parents who make him a Jew, a Christian, just as a she-camel gives birth to its young ones. Do you find any deficiency in their limbs? You cut their ears (i. e. after birth). They (the Companions of the Holy Prophet) said: What is your opinion about him who dies in infancy? Thereupon Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: It is Allah alone Who knows best what they would be doing.
Hadith 157
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَي بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، وَقُتَيْبَةُ ، وَابْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ يَعْنُونَ ابْنَ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ ، وَعَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، عَنْ حَنْظَلَةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي يُونُسَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ كُلُّهُمْ ، قَالَ : عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَذْكُرُوا : وَيُلْقَى الشُّحُّ .
Yahya ibn Ayyub, Qutaybah, and Ibn Hujr narrated to us, they said: Isma'il—meaning Ibn Ja'far—narrated to us, from Al-'Ala', from his father, from Abu Hurayrah.
And Ibn Numayr, Abu Kurayb, and 'Amr al-Naqid narrated to us, they said: Ishaq ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Hanzalah, from Salim, from Abu Hurayrah.
And Muhammad ibn Rafi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from Hammam ibn Munabbih, from Abu Hurayrah.
And Abu Tahir narrated to me, Ibn Wahb informed us, from 'Amr ibn al-Harith, from Abu Yunus, from Abu Hurayrah—all of them said: from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, similar to the hadith of al-Zuhri, from Humayd, from Abu Hurayrah, except that they did not mention: "and miserliness will be cast."

Hadith 2675
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، قَالَ : هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَالَ : " إِذَا تَلَقَّانِي عَبْدِي بِشِبْرٍ تَلَقَّيْتُهُ بِذِرَاعٍ ، وَإِذَا تَلَقَّانِي بِذِرَاعٍ تَلَقَّيْتُهُ بِبَاعٍ ، وَإِذَا تَلَقَّانِي بِبَاعٍ أَتَيْتُهُ بِأَسْرَعَ " .
Hammam bin Munabbih reported so many ahadith from Abu Hurairah (RA) and one out of them is this; that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said that Allah thus stated: When My servant draws close to me by the span of a palm, I draw close to him by the space of a cubit, and when he draws close to Me by the space of a cubit, I draw close to him by the space (covered) by two hands, and when he draws close to Me by the space (covered by) two hands, I go in hurry towards him.
Hadith 2677
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، وَعَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ لِلَّهِ تِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ اسْمًا مِائَةً إِلَّا وَاحِدًا ، مَنْ أَحْصَاهَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " ، وَزَادَ هَمَّامٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : إِنَّهُ وِتْرٌ يُحِبُّ الْوِتْرَ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) as saying: Verily, there are ninety-nine names for Allah, i. e. hundred excepting one. He who enumerates them would get into Paradise. And Hammam has made this addition on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) who reported it from Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) that he said: "He is Odd (one) and loves odd number."
Hadith 2681
حَدَّثَنَاه إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، وَجَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ ، وَوَكِيعٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا مُعْتَمِرٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ كُلُّهُمْ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ .
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Isma'il through other chains of narrators.
Hadith 2682
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، قَالَ : هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا ، وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا يَتَمَنَّى أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ ، وَلَا يَدْعُ بِهِ مِنْ قَبْلِ أَنْ يَأْتِيَهُ إِنَّهُ إِذَا مَاتَ أَحَدُكُمُ انْقَطَعَ عَمَلُهُ ، وَإِنَّهُ لَا يَزِيدُ الْمُؤْمِنَ عُمْرُهُ إِلَّا خَيْرًا " .
Hammam bin Munabbih said: Abu Hurairah (RA) narrated to us ahadith from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and out of these, one is that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: None amongst you should make a request for death, and do not call for it before it comes, for when any one of you dies, he ceases (to do good) deeds and the life of a believer is not prolonged but for goodness.
Hadith 2675
وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَعْنَاهُ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) through another chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2749
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ الْجَزَرِيِّ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْأَصَمِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْ لَمْ تُذْنِبُوا لَذَهَبَ اللَّهُ بِكُمْ ، وَلَجَاءَ بِقَوْمٍ يُذْنِبُونَ فَيَسْتَغْفِرُونَ اللَّهَ فَيَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) having said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, if you were not to commit sin, Allah would sweep you out of existence and He would replace (you by) those people who would commit sin and seek forgiveness from Allah, and He would have pardoned them.
Hadith 2756
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، قَالَ عَبد : أَخْبَرَنَا ، وقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي الزُّهْرِيُّ : أَلَا أُحَدِّثُكَ بِحَدِيثَيْنِ عَجِيبَيْنِ ؟ ، قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَسْرَفَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ ، فَلَمَّا حَضَرَهُ الْمَوْتُ أَوْصَى بَنِيهِ ، فَقَالَ : إِذَا أَنَا مُتُّ فَأَحْرِقُونِي ثُمَّ اسْحَقُونِي ثُمَّ اذْرُونِي فِي الرِّيحِ فِي الْبَحْرِ ، فَوَاللَّهِ لَئِنْ قَدَرَ عَلَيَّ رَبِّي لَيُعَذِّبُنِي عَذَابًا مَا عَذَّبَهُ بِهِ أَحَدًا ، قَالَ : فَفَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ بِهِ ، فَقَالَ لِلْأَرْضِ : أَدِّي مَا أَخَذْتِ ، فَإِذَا هُوَ قَائِمٌ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ : مَا حَمَلَكَ عَلَى مَا صَنَعْتَ ؟ ، فَقَالَ : خَشْيَتُكَ يَا رَبِّ أَوَ قَالَ مَخَافَتُكَ فَغَفَرَ لَهُ بِذَلِكَ " ,
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying that a person committed sin beyond measure and when he was going to die, he left this will: (When I die), burn my dead body and then cast them (the ashes) to the wind and in the ocean. By Allah, if my Lord takes hold of me, He would torment me as He has not tormented anyone else. They did as he had asked them to do. He (the Lord) said to the earth: Return what you have taken. And he was thus restored to his (original form). He (Allah) said to him: What prompted you to do this? He said: My Lord, it was Thine fear or Thine awe, and Allah pardoned him because of this.
Hadith 2769
وحَدَّثَنِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُجَيْنُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ بِإِسْنَادِ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ،
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2781
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ مِنَّا رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي النَّجَّارِ قَدْ قَرَأَ الْبَقَرَةَ وَآلَ عِمْرَانَ ، وَكَانَ يَكْتُبُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَانْطَلَقَ هَارِبًا حَتَّى لَحِقَ بِأَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ ، قَالَ : فَرَفَعُوهُ ، قَالُوا : هَذَا قَدْ كَانَ يَكْتُبُ لِمُحَمَّدٍ ، فَأُعْجِبُوا بِهِ فَمَا لَبِثَ أَنْ قَصَمَ اللَّهُ عُنُقَهُ فِيهِمْ ، فَحَفَرُوا لَهُ فَوَارَوْهُ ، فَأَصْبَحَتِ الْأَرْضُ قَدْ نَبَذَتْهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهَا ، ثُمَّ عَادُوا فَحَفَرُوا لَهُ فَوَارَوْهُ ، فَأَصْبَحَتِ الْأَرْضُ قَدْ نَبَذَتْهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهَا ، ثُمَّ عَادُوا فَحَفَرُوا لَهُ فَوَارَوْهُ ، فَأَصْبَحَتِ الْأَرْضُ قَدْ نَبَذَتْهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهَا فَتَرَكُوهُ مَنْبُوذًا " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported: There was a person amongst us who belonged to the tribe of Bani Najjar and he recited Sura al-Baqarah and Surat Al-'Imran and he used to transcribe for Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) . He ran away as a rebel and joined the People of the Book. They gave it much importance and said: He is the person who used to transcribe for Muhammad and they were much pleased with him. Time rolled on that Allah caused his death. They dug the grave and buried him therein, but they found to their surprise that the earth had thrown him out over the surface. They again dug the grave for him and buried him but the earth again threw him out upon the surface. They again dug the grave for him and buried him but the earth again threw him out upon the surface. At last they left him unburied.
