Hadith 600
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا جَدَّ بِهِ السَّيْرُ أَوْ حَزَبَهُ أَمْرٌ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "If the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was in a hurry to travel, or some emergency arose, he would combine Maghrib and 'Isha'."
Hadith 601
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمٌ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قال : رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا جَدَّ بِهِ السَّيْرُ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ " .
´Sufyan said:` "I heard Az-Zuhri say: 'Salim told me that his father said: 'I saw the Prophet (ﷺ), if he was in a hurry to travel, joining Maghrib and 'Isha'."
Hadith 607
أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، قال : كُنْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ حَيْثُ أَفَاضَ مِنْ عَرَفَاتٍ ، " فَلَمَّا أَتَى جَمْعًا جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ " ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ ، قَالَ : فَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي هَذَا الْمَكَانِ مِثْلَ هَذَا " .
´It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Jubair said:` "I was with Ibn 'Umar when he departed from 'Arafah. When he came to Jam' (Al-Muzdalifah), he combined Maghrib and 'Isha', and when he finished he said: 'The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did similar to this in this place.'"
Hadith 608
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ بِالْمُزْدَلِفَةِ " .
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet (ﷺ) prayed Maghrib and 'Isha' at Al-Muzdalifah.
Hadith 627
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، قال : قال ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ : أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ : " كَانَ الْمُسْلِمُونَ حِينَ قَدِمُوا الْمَدِينَةَ يَجْتَمِعُونَ فَيَتَحَيَّنُونَ الصَّلَاةَ وَلَيْسَ يُنَادِي بِهَا أَحَدٌ ، فَتَكَلَّمُوا يَوْمًا فِي ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ : اتَّخِذُوا نَاقُوسًا مِثْلَ نَاقُوسِ النَّصَارَى ، وَقَالَ بَعْضَهُمْ : بَلْ قَرْنًا مِثْلَ قَرْنِ الْيَهُودِ ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : أَوَلَا تَبْعَثُونَ رَجُلًا يُنَادِي بِالصَّلَاةِ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَا بِلَالُ ، قُمْ فَنَادِ بِالصَّلَاةِ " .
´Nafi' narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar used to say:` "When the Muslims arrived in Al-Madinah they used to gather and try to figure out the time for prayer, and no one gave the call to prayer. One day they spoke about that; some of them said: 'Let us use a bell like the Christians do;' others said, 'No, a horn like the Jews have.' 'Umar, may ,Allah be pleased with him, said: 'Why don't you send a man to announce the time of prayer?' The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said: 'O Bilal, get up and give the call to prayer.'"
Hadith 629
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُثَنَّى ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " كَانَ الْأَذَانُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، وَالْإِقَامَةُ مَرَّةً مَرَّةً ، إِلَّا أَنَّكَ تَقُولُ : قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ، قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "At the time of the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) the phrases of the Adhan were said twice and the phrases of the Iqamah were said once, except that you should say: 'Qad Qamatis-Salah, Qad Qamatis-Salah (prayer is about to begin, prayer is about to begin).'"
Hadith 638
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ ، فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يُنَادِيَ ابْنُ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said:` "Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls (the Adhan)"
Hadith 639
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ بِلَالًا يُؤَذِّنُ بِلَيْلٍ ، فَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى تَسْمَعُوا تَأْذِينَ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ " .
´It was narrated from Salim, from his father, that the Prophet (S.A.W) said:` "Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until you hear Ibn Umm Maktoom calling the Adhan."
Hadith 655
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَذَّنَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فِي لَيْلَةٍ ذَاتِ بَرْدٍ وَرِيحٍ ، فَقَالَ : أَلَا صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ ، فَإِنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ الْمُؤَذِّنَ إِذَا كَانَتْ لَيْلَةٌ بَارِدَةٌ ذَاتُ مَطَرٍ ، يَقُولُ : " أَلَا صَلُّوا فِي الرِّحَالِ " .
´It was narrated from Nafi' that Ibn 'Umar gave a call to prayer on a cold and windy night, and he said:` "Pray where you are, for the Prophet (S.A.W)used to order the Mu'adhdhin, if it was a cold and rainy night, to say: 'Pray in your dwellings.'"
Hadith 658
أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " كُنَّا مَعَهُ بِجَمْعٍ فَأَذَّنَ ، ثُمَّ أَقَامَ فَصَلَّى بِنَا الْمَغْرِبَ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : الصَّلَاةَ ، فَصَلَّى بِنَا الْعِشَاءَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ " ، فَقُلْتُ : مَا هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةُ ؟ قَالَ : هَكَذَا صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي هَذَا الْمَكَانِ .
´It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Jubair said concerning Ibn 'Umar:` "We were with him (Ibn 'Umar) in Jam' (Muzdalifah), and he called the Adhan, then the Iqamah, then he led us in praying Maghrib. Then he said: 'The prayer,' and he led us in praying 'Isha', two Rak'ahs. I said: 'What is this prayer?' He said: 'This is how I prayed with the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) in this place.'"
Hadith 659
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ ، وَسَلَمَةُ بْنُ كُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، أَنَّهُ " صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ بِجَمْعٍ بِإِقَامَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ " . ثُمَّ حَدَّثَ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ، وَحَدَّثَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَنَعَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ .
It was narrated from Sa'eed bin Jubair that he prayed Maghrib and 'Isha' in Jam' (Muzdalifah) with one Iqamah, then he narrated that Ibn 'Umar had done that, and Ibn 'Umar narrated that the Prophet (S.A.W) had done that.
Hadith 660
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ " صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِجَمْعٍ بِإِقَامَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ " .
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that he prayed in Jam'a with the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) with one Iqamah.
Hadith 661
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ وَكِيعٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " جَمَعَ بَيْنَهُمَا بِالْمُزْدَلِفَةِ ، صَلَّى كُلَّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُمَا بِإِقَامَةٍ وَلَمْ يَتَطَوَّعْ قَبْلَ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُمَا وَلَا بَعْدُ " .
It was narrated from Salim, from his father, that the Prophet (S.A.W) joined them (Maghrib and 'Isha') in Al-Muzdalifah, and he prayed each of them with an Iqamah, and he did not offer any voluntary prayer before or after either of them.
Hadith 669
أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، قال : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا جَعْفَرٍ مُؤَذِّنَ مَسْجِدِ الْعُرْيَانِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُثَنَّى مُؤَذِّنِ مَسْجِدِ الْجَامِعِ قال : سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَنِ الْأَذَانِ ، فَقَالَ : " كَانَ الْأَذَانُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، وَالْإِقَامَةُ مَرَّةً مَرَّةً ، إِلَّا أَنَّكَ إِذَا قُلْتَ : قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ، قَالَهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ ، فَإِذَا سَمِعْنَا : قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلَاةُ ، تَوَضَّأْنَا ثُمَّ خَرَجْنَا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ " .
´It was narrated that Abu Al-Muthanna, the Mu'adhdhin of the Jami' Masjid, said:` "I asked Ibn 'Umar about the Adhan and he said: 'At the time of the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W), the phrases of the Adhan were recited twice and the phrases of Iqamah once, except that you should say (the phrase) Qad qamat is-salah (prayer is about to begin)twice. When we heard 'prayer is about to begin' we would perform Wudu' and go out to pray.'"
Hadith 693
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قال : دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْبَيْتَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، وَبِلَالٌ ، وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمْ ، فَلَمَّا فَتَحَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ وَلَجَ ، فَلَقِيتُ بِلَالًا فَسَأَلْتُهُ : هَلْ صَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ " صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated from Salim that his father said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered the House (the Ka'bah), with Usamah bin Zaid, Bilal and 'Uthman bin Talhah, and they locked the door behind them. When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) opened it, I was the first one to enter. I met Bilal and asked him: 'Did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) pray inside?' He said: 'Yes, he prayed between the two Yemeni columns.'"
Hadith 699
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يَأْتِي قُبَاءَ رَاكِبًا وَمَاشِيًا " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to come to Quba' riding and walking." [1] Quba' is about three miles to the south of the Prophet's Masjid. This area is named after in that district.
Hadith 707
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قال : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا اسْتَأْذَنَتِ امْرَأَةُ أَحَدِكُمْ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَلَا يَمْنَعْهَا " .
´It was narrated from Salim that his father said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'When the wife of any one of you asks for permission to go to the Masjid, do not stop her.'"
Hadith 723
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ " يَنَامُ وَهُوَ شَابٌّ عَزْبٌ لَا أَهْلَ لَهُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي مَسْجِدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar, that when he was young and single, with no family, at the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he used to sleep in the Masjid of the Prophet (ﷺ).
Hadith 725
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَأَى بُصَاقًا فِي جِدَارِ الْقِبْلَةِ فَحَكَّهُ ثُمَّ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ ، فَقَالَ : " إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ يُصَلِّي فَلَا يَبْصُقَنَّ قِبَلَ وَجْهِهِ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قِبَلَ وَجْهِهِ إِذَا صَلَّى " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw some sputum on the Qiblah wall. He scrapped it off then he turned to the people and said:` "When any one of you is praying, let him not spit in front of him, for Allah is in front of him when he prays."
Hadith 741
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي عَلَى حِمَارٍ وَهُوَ مُتَوَجِّهٌ إِلَى خَيْبَرَ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn 'Umar said:` "I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) praying on a donkey, when he was heading toward Khaibar."
Hadith 744
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فِي السَّفَرِ حَيْثُمَا تَوَجَّهَتْ " . قَالَ مَالِكٌ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ : وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ .
´It was narrated that Ibn Umar said:` "The messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to pray atop his mount while travelling, facing whatever direction it was facing." (One of the narrators) Malik said: "Abdullah bin Dinar said: and Ibn Umar used to do likewise".
Hadith 745
أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قال : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " يُصَلِّي عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ قِبَلَ أَيِّ وَجْهٍ تَوَجَّهُ بِهِ وَيُوتِرُ عَلَيْهَا ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ لَا يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا الْمَكْتُوبَةَ " .
´It was narrated that Abdullah said:` "The messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to pray atop his mount while traveling, facing whatever direction it was facing, and he would pray witr atop it, but he did not pray the prescribed prayers atop it ".
Hadith 746
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : بَيْنَمَا النَّاسُ بِقُبَاءَ فِي صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ ، جَاءَهُمْ آتٍ ، فَقَالَ : إِنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ " أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ اللَّيْلَةَ قُرْآنٌ ، وَقَدْ أُمِرَ أَنْ يَسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةَ ، فَاسْتَقْبِلُوهَا وَكَانَتْ وُجُوهُهُمْ إِلَى الشَّامِ فَاسْتَدَارُوا إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn Umar said:` "While the people were in Quba praying Subh prayer, someone came to them and said that revelation had come to Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) the night before, and he had been commanded to face Ka'bah. So face toward it. They had been facing toward Ash-Sham, so they turned to face toward Ka'bah."
Hadith 748
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا نَافِعٌ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ " يَرْكُزُ الْحَرْبَةَ ثُمَّ يُصَلِّي إِلَيْهَا " .
´Narrated Ibn Umar:` It was narrated from Ibn Umar concerning the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) he said: "He used to set up a short spear then pray facing toward it."
Hadith 750
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، وَالْحَارِثُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قِرَاءَةً ، عَلَيْهُ وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، وَبِلَالٌ ، وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ الْحَجَبِيُّ فَأَغْلَقَهَا عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ : فَسَأَلْتُ بِلَالًا حِينَ خَرَجَ : " مَاذَا صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : جَعَلَ عَمُودًا عَنْ يَسَارِهِ وَعَمُودَيْنِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَثَلَاثَةَ أَعْمِدَةٍ وَرَاءَهُ ، وَكَانَ الْبَيْتُ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى سِتَّةِ أَعْمِدَةٍ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْجِدَارِ نَحْوًا مِنْ ثَلَاثَةِ أَذْرُعٍ " .
´Narrated Abdullah bin Umar:` It was narrated from Abdullah bin Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered the Ka'bah with Usamah bin Zaid, Bilal and Uthman bin Talha al Hajabi, and locked the door behind him. Abdullah bin Umar said: "I asked Bilal when he came out: " What did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) do?" He said: "He stood with one pillar to his left, two pillars to his right and three pillars behind him - at that time the House stood on six pillars - and he prayed with approximately three forearm's length between him and the wall."
Hadith 820
أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مَثْرُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَنْ وَصَلَ صَفًّا وَصَلَهُ اللَّهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَ صَفًّا قَطَعَهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ " .
´It was narrated from 'Abdullih bin 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)said:` "Whoever completes a row, may Allah be generous to him, and whoever cuts a row, may Allah cut him off."
Hadith 827
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْمُرُ بِالتَّخْفِيفِ وَيَؤُمُّنَا بِالصَّافَّاتِ " .
´It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to enjoin upon us to make the prayer short, but he would lead us in prayer and recite As-Saffat."
Hadith 838
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " صَلَاةُ الْجَمَاعَةِ تَفْضُلُ عَلَى صَلَاةِ الْفَذِّ بِسَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ دَرَجَةً " .
´It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:` "Praying in congregation is twenty-seven times better than praying alone."
Hadith 861
أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ التَّيْمِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ مَوْلَى مَيْمُونَةَ قال : رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ جَالِسًا عَلَى الْبَلَاطِ وَالنَّاسُ يُصَلُّونَ قُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَا لَكَ لَا تُصَلِّي قال : إِنِّي قَدْ صَلَّيْتُ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " لَا تُعَادُ الصَّلَاةُ فِي يَوْمٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated that Sulaiman - the freed slave of Maimunah - said:` "I saw Ibn 'Umar sitting in Al-Balat when the people were praying. I said: '0 Abu 'Abdur- Rahman, why are you not praying?' He said: 'I have already prayed, and I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "Do not repeat a prayer twice in one day."
Hadith 874
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ يُصَلِّي قَبْلَ الظُّهْرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَبَعْدَهَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَكَانَ يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فِي بَيْتِهِ وَبَعْدَ الْعِشَاءِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَكَانَ لَا يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْجُمْعَةِ حَتَّى يَنْصَرِفَ فَيُصَلِّيَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray two Rak'ahs before Zuhr and two afterward, and he used to pray two Rak'ahs after Maghrib in his house, and two Rak'ahs after 'Isha', and he did not pray after Jumu'ah until he departed (from the Masjid), then he would pray two Rak'ahs at home."
Hadith 877
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي سَالِمٌ . ح وأَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ هُوَ ابْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ شُعَيْبٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ وَهُوَ الزُّهْرِيُّ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ التَّكْبِيرَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حِينَ يُكَبِّرُ حَتَّى يَجْعَلَهُمَا حَذْوَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا كَبَّرَ لِلرُّكُوعِ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ ، ثُمَّ إِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ حِينَ يَسْجُدُ وَلَا حِينَ يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ السُّجُودِ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn Umar said:` I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he said the opening Takbir of the prayer, raise his hands until they were level with his shoulders. When he said the Takbir before bowing he did likewise, and when he said: 'Sami Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hears those who praise Him),' he did likewise, then he said: 'Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (Our Lord, to You be praise).' But he did not do that when he prostrated or when he raised his head from prostration.
Hadith 878
أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، قال : أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى تَكُونَا حَذْوَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ يُكَبِّرُ قَالَ وَكَانَ يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ حِينَ يُكَبِّرُ لِلرُّكُوعِ وَيَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ حِينَ يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ وَيَقُولُ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ وَلَا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ فِي السُّجُودِ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn Umar said:` "I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), when he stood to pray, raise his hands until they were in level with his shoulders, then he said the takbir. He did that when he said the Takbir before bowing, and he did that when he raised his head from bowing and said: 'Sami Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hears those who praise Him).' Bu he did not do that during the prostration."
Hadith 879
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كَانَ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ حَذْوَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ رَفَعَهُمَا كَذَلِكَ وَقَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَكَانَ لَا يَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ فِي السُّجُودِ " .
´It was narrated from Abdullah bin Umar :` that when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) started to pray, he would raise his hands in level with his shoulders, and when he bowed and when he raised his head from bowing, he would raise them likewise and say "Sami Allahu liman hamidah, Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (Allah hears those who praise Him, our Lord, to You be praise." And he did not do that when he prostrated.
Hadith 886
أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي زَيْدٌ هُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي أُنَيْسَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قال : قَامَ رَجُلٌ خَلْفَ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كَثِيرًا وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا ، فَقَالَ : نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " مَنْ صَاحِبُ الْكَلِمَةِ " فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ : أَنَا يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ، فَقَالَ : " لَقَدِ ابْتَدَرَهَا اثْنَا عَشَرَ مَلَكًا " .
´It was narrated from Abdullah bin Umar that:` A man stood behind the Prophet of Allah (ﷺ) and said: "Allahu Akbaru kabira wal-hamdu Lillahi kathira, wa subhan-Allahi bukratan was asila (Allah is Most Great and much praise be to Allah and glorified be Allah at the beginning and end of the day)." The Prophet of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Who spoke these words?" A man said: "I did, O Prophet of Allah (SWT)." He said: "Twelve angels rushed (to take them up)."
Hadith 887
أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُجَاعٍ الْمَرُّوذِيُّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ، عَنْ حَجَّاجٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ : اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ كَثِيرًا وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنِ الْقَائِلُ كَلِمَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا " فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ : أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " عَجِبْتُ لَهَا وَذَكَرَ كَلِمَةً مَعْنَاهَا فُتِحَتْ لَهَا أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ " قَالَ : ابْنُ عُمَرَ مَا تَرَكْتُهُ مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُهُ .
´It was narrated that Ibn Umar said:` "While we were praying with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), a man among the people said: 'Allahu Akbaru kabira, wal-hamdu Lillahi kathira, wa subhan-Allahi bukratan was asila (Allah is Most Great and much praise be to Allah and glorified be Allah at the beginning and end of the day).' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Who is the one who said such and such?' A man among the people said: 'I did, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: ' I like it,' and he said words to the effect that the gates of the Heavens had been opened for it." Ibn Umar said: "I never stopped saying it since I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say that."
Hadith 892
أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ صُبَيْحٍ قال : صَلَّيْتُ إِلَى جَنْبِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ فَوَضَعْتُ يَدِي عَلَى خَصْرِي فَقَالَ لِي " هَكَذَا ضَرْبَةً بِيَدِهِ فَلَمَّا صَلَّيْتُ قُلْتُ : لِرَجُلٍ مَنْ هَذَا قَالَ : عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ قُلْتُ : يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَا رَابَكَ مِنِّي قَالَ : " إِنَّ هَذَا الصَّلْبُ وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَانَا عَنْهُ " .
´It was narrated that Ziyad bin Subaih said:` "I prayed beside Ibn Umar and put my hand on my waist, and he did this to me-knocked it with his hand. When I had finished praying I said to a man: 'Who is this?' He said: "Abdullah bin Umar.' I said: 'O Abu Abdur-Rahman, why are you angry with me?' He said: 'This is the posture of crucifixion, and the Mesenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade us to do this.'"
Hadith 943
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَثَلُ صَاحِبِ الْقُرْآنِ كَمَثَلِ الْإِبِلِ الْمُعَقَّلَةِ إِذَا عَاهَدَ عَلَيْهَا أَمْسَكَهَا وَإِنْ أَطْلَقَهَا ذَهَبَتْ " .
´It was narrated from Ibn Umar that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "The one who learns the Quran is like the owner of a hobbled camel. If he pays attention to it, he will keep it, but if he releases it, it will go away."
Hadith 993
أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْجَوَّابِ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا عَمَّارُ بْنُ رُزَيْقٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُهَاجِرٍ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قال : " رَمَقْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عِشْرِينَ مَرَّةً يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَفِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ و قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ " .
´It was narrated that Ibn Umar said:` "I watched the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)- twenty times- reciting in the two rak'ahs after maghrib 'Say: O you disbelievers' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.'"
Hadith 1026
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قال : رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ حَتَّى يُحَاذِيَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ " .
´It was narrated from Salim that:` His father said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he started to pray, raise his hands until they were parallel to his shoulders, (and he did that) when he bowed and when he raised his head from bowing."

أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، قال : حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " كَانَ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ إِذَا دَخَلَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ حَذْوَ مَنْكِبَيْهِ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ فَعَلَ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ وَإِذَا قَالَ سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ قَالَ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَكَانَ لَا يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ بَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ " .
´It was narrated from Salim, from his father, that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to raise his hands until they were in level with his shoulders when he started to pray, and when he raised his head from bowing he did likewise, and when he said: Sami' Allahu liman hamidah (Allah hears the one who praises Him)" he said: "Rabbana wa lakal-hamd (Our Lord, to You be praise)" and he did not raise his hands between the two prostrations.
