Hadith 1709
´It is narrated from Mujahid that` the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade making animals fight with each other. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- In this chain, the narrator has not mentioned Ibn Abbas,
2- It is said that, compared to this hadith, the (following) hadith of Qutbah is more authentic; this hadith has been narrated in the same way by Shareek through «مجاهد عن ابن عباس عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم», and in it, Abu Yahya is not mentioned,
3- And Abu Muawiyah has narrated it in the same way through «الأعمش عن مجاهد عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم»; by Abu Yahya is meant Abu Yahya Qattat Kufi, it is said his name is Zadhan,
4- In this chapter, ahadith have also been narrated from Talha, Jabir, Abu Saeed, and Ikrash bin Dhu’ayb (may Allah be pleased with them).

‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Any hide that has been tanned has become pure.” 1© Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- The hadith of Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) is Hasan Sahih.
2- Through Ibn ‘Abbas, this is also narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) via other chains in a similar manner.
3- This hadith from Ibn ‘Abbas sometimes comes from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) through Maymunah, and sometimes through Sawdah.
4- I heard Muhammad bin Isma‘il al-Bukhari declare the hadith of Ibn ‘Abbas from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and the narration of Ibn ‘Abbas through Maymunah, to be authentic. He said: It is possible that Ibn ‘Abbas narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) via Maymunah, and also directly from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). Most of the scholars act upon this. This is the view of Sufyan al-Thawri, Ibn al-Mubarak, al-Shafi‘i, Ahmad, and Ishaq bin Rahwayh.
5- Nadr bin Shumayl has also explained it in this sense. Ishaq bin Rahwayh says: Nadr bin Shumayl said: «إهاب» refers to the hide of an animal whose flesh is eaten.
6- Most of the scholars act upon this. They say: The hide of a dead animal becomes pure after tanning.
7- Al-Shafi‘i says: Except for the dog and the pig, the hide of any dead animal that is tanned becomes pure. He has deduced this from this hadith.
8- Some of the scholars among the Companions and others have considered the hides of predatory animals to be disliked, even if they have been tanned. This is the view of ‘Abdullah bin al-Mubarak, Ahmad, and Ishaq bin Rahwayh. They have considered it disliked to wear them or to pray in them.
9- Ishaq bin Ibrahim bin Rahwayh says: The meaning of the statement of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) «أيما إهاب دبغ فقد طهر» is that the hide of an animal whose flesh is eaten becomes pure by tanning.
10- In this chapter, there are also ahadith from Salamah bin al-Muhabbaq, Maymunah, and ‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with them all).

1- This hadith is Hasan Sahih.
2- This hadith has also come through this chain «الزهري عن عبيد الله عن ابن عباس أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم», the narrators have not mentioned the intermediary of «عن میمونة» in it.
3- The hadith of Ibn Abbas through the intermediary of Maymunah is more authentic.
4- Mu’ammar has narrated a similar hadith through: «الزهري ، عن ابن أبي هريرة ، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم», this hadith (chain) is not preserved. I heard Muhammad bin Isma’il Bukhari say that the hadith of Mu’ammar which he narrates from the chain of «عن الزهري عن سعيد ابن المسيب عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم» that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about it, so he said: “When the ghee is solid, throw away the mouse and the ghee around it, and if it is melted, do not go near it”—this is a mistake; Mu’ammar erred in this. The correct hadith is that of Zuhri which has come through the chain of «عن عبيد الله عن ابن عباس عن ميمونة» 2.

‘Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to drink, he would drink in two breaths. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
1- This hadith is gharib,
2- We know it only from the narration of Rushdein bin Kuraib,
3- I asked Abu Muhammad Abdullah bin Abdur Rahman Darimi about Rushdein bin Kuraib, saying: Is he stronger or Muhammad bin Kuraib? He said: Both are very close (in rank), and in my view, Rushdein bin Kuraib is more preferred,
4- I asked Muhammad bin Ismail Bukhari about him, and he said: Muhammad bin Kuraib is more preferred than Rushdein bin Kuraib,
5- In my view, the statement of Abu Muhammad Abdullah bin Abdur Rahman Darimi is more correct that Rushdein bin Kuraib is more preferred and greater; he met Ibn Abbas and saw him. These two are brothers, and from both of them, munkar ahadith are also narrated.
Hadith 1888
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade breathing and blowing into a vessel. © Imam Tirmidhi says:
