Hadith 5205
حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ , حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ , عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , قَالَ : خَرَجْتُ مَعَ أَبِي إِلَى الشَّامِ , فَجَعَلُوا يَمُرُّونَ بِصَوَامِعَ فِيهَا نَصَارَى فَيُسَلِّمُونَ عَلَيْهِمْ , فَقَالَ أَبِي : لَا تَبْدَءُوهُمْ بِالسَّلَامِ , فَإِنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ , حَدَّثَنَا عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا تَبْدَءُوهُمْ بِالسَّلَامِ , وَإِذَا لَقِيتُمُوهُمْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ , فَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِ الطَّرِيقِِ " .
Narrated Abu Hurairah: Suhayl ibn Abu Salih said: I went out with my father to Syria. The people passed by the cloisters in which there were Christians and began to salute them. My father said: Do not give them salutation first, for Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: Do not salute them (Jews and Christians) first, and when you meet them on the road, force them to go to the narrowest part of it.
Hadith 5208
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ , وَمُسَدَّدٌ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرٌ يَعْنِيَانِ ابْنَ الْمُفَضَّلِ , عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ , عَنْ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ , قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْمَقْبُرِيّ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قَالَ : قال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا انْتَهَى أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الْمَجْلِسِ , فَلْيُسَلِّمْ , فَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَقُومَ , فَلْيُسَلِّمْ , فَلَيْسَتِ الْأُولَى بِأَحَقَّ مِنَ الْآخِرَةِ " .
Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet ﷺ said: When one of you comes to an assembly, he should give a salutation and if he feels inclined to get up, he should give a salutation, for the former is not more of a duty than the latter.
Hadith 5218
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ , عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , " أَنَّ الْأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ , أَبْصَرَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ يُقَبِّلُ حُسَيْنًا , فَقَالَ : إِنَّ لِي عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ , مَا فَعَلْتُ هَذَا بِوَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ , فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ " .
Abu Hurairah said; Al-Aqra bin Habib saw that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was kissing Husain. He said: I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who does not show tenderness will not be shown tenderness.
Hadith 5245
حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ , أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ , عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ , عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " نَزَعَ رَجُلٌ لَمْ يَعْمَلْ خَيْرًا قَطُّ غُصْنَ شَوْكٍ عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ , إِمَّا كَانَ فِي شَجَرَةٍ فَقَطَعَهُ وَأَلْقَاهُ , وَإِمَّا كَانَ مَوْضُوعًا فَأَمَاطَهُ , فَشَكَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِهَا , فَأَدْخَلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ " .
Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet ﷺ said: A man never did a good deed but removed a thorny branch from the road; it was either in the tree and someone cut it and threw it on the road, or it was lying in it, he removed it. Allah accepted this good deed of his and brought him into Paradise.
Hadith 5248
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل , حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ , عَنْ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قَالَ : قال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا سَالَمْنَاهُنَّ مُنْذُ حَارَبْنَاهُنَّ , وَمَنْ تَرَكَ شَيْئًا مِنْهُنَّ خِيفَةً , فَلَيْسَ مِنَّا " .
Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet ﷺ said: We have not made peace with them since we fought with them, so he who leaves any of them alone through fear does not belong to us.
Hadith 5263
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْبَزَّازُ , حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا , عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قَالَ : قال رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ قَتَلَ وَزَغَةً فِي أَوَّلِ ضَرْبَةٍ فَلَهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا حَسَنَةً , وَمَنْ قَتَلَهَا فِي الضَّرْبَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ فَلَهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا حَسَنَةً أَدْنَى مِنَ الْأُولَى , وَمَنْ قَتَلَهَا فِي الضَّرْبَةِ الثَّالِثَةِ فَلَهُ كَذَا وَكَذَا حَسَنَةً أَدْنَى مِنَ الثَّانِيَةِ " .
Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet ﷺ said: If anyone kills a gecko with the first blow, such and such number of good deeds will be recorded for him, if he kills it with the second blow, such and such number of good deeds will be recorded for him less than the former; and if he kills it with the third blow, such and such number of good deeds will be recorded for him, less than the former.
Hadith 5264
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْبَزَّازُ , حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا , عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ , قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَخِي أَوْ أُخْتِي , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " فِي أَوَّلِ ضَرْبَةٍ سَبْعِينَ حَسَنَةً " .
Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet ﷺ said: For the first blow seventy good deeds will be recorded.
Hadith 5265
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ , عَنْ الْمُغِيرَةِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ , عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " نَزَلَ نَبِيٌّ مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ تَحْتَ شَجَرَةٍ فَلَدَغَتْهُ نَمْلَةٌ , فَأَمَرَ بِجِهَازِهِ فَأُخْرِجَ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا , ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَأُحْرِقَتْ فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ فَهَلَّا نَمْلَةً وَاحِدَةً " .
Abu Hurairah reported the prophet ﷺ as saying: A prophet got down beneath a tree and he was stung by an ant. He ordered regarding the baggage and it was removed from beneath it. He then ordered regarding it and it was burnt. Allah then revealed to him: why not (just) one ant?
Hadith 5266
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ , حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ , عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ , , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّ نَمْلَةً قَرَصَتْ نَبِيًّا مِنَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ , فَأَمَرَ بِقَرْيَةِ النَّمْلِ فَأُحْرِقَتْ , فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ : أَفِي أَنْ قَرَصَتْكَ نَمْلَةٌ أَهْلَكْتَ أُمَّةً مِنَ الْأُمَمِ تُسَبِّحُ ؟ " .
Abu Hurairah reported Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: An ant stung a prophet. He ordered a colony of ants to be burned. Allah revealed to him: because an ant stung you, you have perished a community which glorifies Me.
Hadith 5274
حدثنا محمد بن الصباح بن سفيان , وابن السرح , قالا : أخبرنا سفيان , عن الزهري , عن سعيد عن أبى هريرة , عن النبي صلي الله عليه وسلم : يقول الله عز وجل : " يؤذيني ابن آدم , يسب الدهر , وأنا الدهر بيدي الأمر , أقلب الليل والنهار " , قال ابن السرح , عن ابن المسيب مكان سعيد .
Abu Hurairah reported the prophet ﷺ as saying: Allah most high says: “The son of Adam injures me by abusing time, whereas I am time. Authority is in my hand. I alternate the night and the day”. Ibn al-Sarh said: “on the authority of Ibn al-Musayyab instead of Saeed".
