Hadith 2758
حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، قَالَ : كَانَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ قَاصٌّ يُقَالُ لَهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ، قَالَ : فَسَمِعْتُهُ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّ عَبْدًا أَذْنَبَ ذَنْبًا بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ ، وَذَكَرَ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ أَذْنَبَ ذَنْبًا وَفِي الثَّالِثَةِ قَدْ غَفَرْتُ لِعَبْدِي ، فَلْيَعْمَلْ مَا شَاءَ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported he heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying that a servant committed a sin. The rest of the hadith is the same, but there is a slight variation of wording.
Hadith 2769
وحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ابْنُ أَخِي الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، وَكَانَ قَائِدَ كَعْبٍ حِينَ عَمِيَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ كَعْبَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يُحَدِّثُ حَدِيثَهُ حِينَ تَخَلَّفَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ ، وَزَادَ فِيهِ عَلَى يُونُسَ ، فَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَلَّمَا يُرِيدُ غَزْوَةً إِلَّا وَرَّى بِغَيْرِهَا حَتَّى كَانَتْ تِلْكَ الْغَزْوَةُ ، وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ فِي حَدِيثِ ابْنِ أَخِي الزُّهْرِيِّ أَبَا خَيْثَمَةَ ، وَلُحُوقَهُ بِالنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ،
'Abdullah bin K'ab, who was his (Ka'b's) guide as he became blind, reported that he heard from Ka'b bin Malik the story of his staying behind Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) from the expedition of Tabuk. The rest of the hadith is the same (but with this variation) that in the narration transmitted on the authority of Yunus (the words are): When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) intended to set on any expedition he kept it as a secret, but he did not do so in this expedition. And in the narration transmitted on the authority of Muhammad bin 'Abdullah bin Muslim, there is no mention of Abu Khaithana (RA) and no mention of his meeting with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) .
Hadith 2770
وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الْعَتَكِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ كَيْسَانَ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ يُونُسَ ، وَمَعْمَرٍ بِإِسْنَادِهِمَا ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ فُلَيْحٍ اجْتَهَلَتْهُ الْحَمِيَّةُ ، كَمَا قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ : وَفِي حَدِيثِ صَالِحٍ احْتَمَلَتْهُ الْحَمِيَّةُ كَقَوْلِ يُونُسَ ، وَزَادَ فِي حَدِيثِ صَالِحٍ ، قَالَ عُرْوَةُ : كَانَتْ عَائِشَةُ تَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُسَبَّ عِنْدَهَا حَسَّانُ ، وَتَقُولُ : فَإِنَّهُ قَالَ فَإِنَّ أَبِي وَوَالِدَهُ وَعِرْضِي لِعِرْضِ مُحَمَّدٍ مِنْكُمْ وِقَاءُ ، وَزَادَ أَيْضًا ، قَالَ عُرْوَةُ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : وَاللَّهِ إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ الَّذِي قِيلَ لَهُ مَا قِيلَ ، لَيَقُولُ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ ، فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا كَشَفْتُ عَنْ كَنَفِ أُنْثَى قَطُّ ، قَالَتْ : ثُمَّ قُتِلَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ شَهِيدًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَفِي حَدِيثِ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُوعِرِينَ فِي نَحْرِ الظَّهِيرَةِ ، وقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ مُوغِرِينَ قَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ قُلْتُ لِعَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ : مَا قَوْلُهُ مُوغِرِينَ ؟ ، قَالَ : الْوَغْرَةُ شِدَّةُ الْحَرِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : لَمَّا ذُكِرَ مِنْ شَأْنِي الَّذِي ذُكِرَ ، وَمَا عَلِمْتُ بِهِ قَامَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَطِيبًا ، فَتَشَهَّدَ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ بِمَا هُوَ أَهْلُهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : أَمَّا بَعْدُ : أَشِيرُوا عَلَيَّ فِي أُنَاسٍ أَبَنُوا أَهْلِي ، وَايْمُ اللَّهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ عَلَى أَهْلِي مِنْ سُوءٍ قَطُّ ، وَأَبَنُوهُمْ بِمَنْ وَاللَّهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ سُوءٍ قَطُّ وَلَا دَخَلَ بَيْتِي قَطُّ ، إِلَّا وَأَنَا حَاضِرٌ وَلَا غِبْتُ فِي سَفَرٍ إِلَّا غَابَ مَعِي ، وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِقِصَّتِهِ وَفِيهِ ، وَلَقَدْ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَيْتِي ، فَسَأَلَ جَارِيَتِي ، فَقَالَتْ : وَاللَّهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ عَلَيْهَا عَيْبًا إِلَّا أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَرْقُدُ حَتَّى تَدْخُلَ الشَّاةُ ، فَتَأْكُلَ عَجِينَهَا ، أَوْ قَالَتْ : خَمِيرَهَا ، شَكَّ هِشَامٌ فَانْتَهَرَهَا بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِهِ ، فَقَالَ : اصْدُقِي رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى أَسْقَطُوا لَهَا بِهِ ، فَقَالَتْ : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهِ مَا عَلِمْتُ عَلَيْهَا إِلَّا مَا يَعْلَمُ الصَّائِغُ عَلَى تِبْرِ الذَّهَبِ الْأَحْمَرِ ، وَقَدْ بَلَغَ الْأَمْرُ ذَلِكَ الرَّجُلَ الَّذِي قِيلَ لَهُ ، فَقَالَ : سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهِ مَا كَشَفْتُ عَنْ كَنَفِ أُنْثَى قَطُّ ، قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ : وَقُتِلَ شَهِيدًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَفِيهِ أَيْضًا مِنَ الزِّيَادَةِ ، وَكَانَ الَّذِينَ تَكَلَّمُوا بِهِ مِسْطَحٌ وَحَمْنَةُ وَحَسَّانُ ، وَأَمَّا الْمُنَافِقُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ ، فَهُوَ الَّذِي كَانَ يَسْتَوْشِيهِ وَيَجْمَعُهُ وَهُوَ الَّذِي تَوَلَّى كِبْرَهُ وَحَمْنَةُ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Zuhri through other chains of transmitters but with a slight variation of wording. In the hadith transmitters on the authority of 'Urwa, there is an addition of these words: "'A'isha did not like that Hassan should be rebuked in her presence and she used to say: It was he who wrote this verse also: "'Verily, my father and my mother and my honour, those are all meant for defending the honour of Muhammad against you." And 'Urwa further reported that 'A'isha said: By Allah, the person, about whom the allegation was made used to say: Hallowed be Allah, by One, in Whose hand is my life, I have never unveiled any woman, and then he died as a martyr in the cause of Allah, and in the narration transmitted on the authority of Ya'qub bin Ibrahim., the word is Mu'irin and in the narration transmitted on the'authority of 'Abdul Razzaq it is Mughirin. 'Abd bin Humaid said: I said to 'Abdul Razzaq: What does this word Mughirin mean? And he said: Al- waghra means intense heat.
Hadith 2802
حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ " أَنَّ أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ سَأَلُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُرِيَهُمْ آيَةً فَأَرَاهُمُ انْشِقَاقَ الْقَمَرِ مَرَّتَيْنِ " ،
Anas reported that the people of Makkah demanded from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) that he should show them (some) signs (miracles) and he showed them the splitting of the moon twice.
Hadith 2805
وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ زُرَارَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَطَاءٍ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : فَيُقَالُ لَهُ : كَذَبْتَ قَدْ سُئِلْتَ مَا هُوَ أَيْسَرُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ .
Anas reported this hadlth through another chain of transmitters and the words are: "It would be said to him: You have told a lie; what had been demanded from you was quite easier than this (the belief in the Oneness of Allah)."
Hadith 2806
حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد واللفظ لزهير ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا ، قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، كَيْفَ يُحْشَرُ الْكَافِرُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ؟ ، قَالَ : " أَلَيْسَ الَّذِي أَمْشَاهُ عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ فِي الدُّنْيَا قَادِرًا عَلَى أَنْ يُمْشِيَهُ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " ، قَالَ قَتَادَةُ : بَلَى وَعِزَّةِ رَبِّنَا .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that a person said: Allah's Messenger, how the non-believers would be made to assemble on the Day of Resurrection (by crawling) on their faces? Thereupon he said: Is He Who is powerful to make them walk on their feet is not powerful enough to make them (crawl) upon their faces on the Day of Resurrection? Qatada said: Of course, it is so. (He adjured): By the might of our Lord.
Hadith 2809
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّ فِي حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ مَكَانَ قَوْلِهِ تُمِيلُهُ تُفِيئُهُ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters, but with a slight variation of wording.
Hadith 2837
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد واللفظ لإسحاق ، قَالَا : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ الثَّوْرِيُّ فَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، أَنَّ الْأَغَرّ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " يُنَادِي مُنَادٍ إِنَّ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَصِحُّوا ، فَلَا تَسْقَمُوا أَبَدًا ، وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَحْيَوْا فَلَا تَمُوتُوا أَبَدًا ، وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَشِبُّوا فَلَا تَهْرَمُوا أَبَدًا ، وَإِنَّ لَكُمْ أَنْ تَنْعَمُوا فَلَا تَبْأَسُوا أَبَدًا ، فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَنُودُوا أَنْ تِلْكُمُ الْجَنَّةُ أُورِثْتُمُوهَا بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ سورة الأعراف آية 43 " .
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri and Abu Hurairah (RA) both reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There would be an announcer (in Paradise) who would make this announcement: Verily I there is in store for you (everlasting) health and that you should never fall ill and that you live (for ever) and do not die at all. And that you would remain young and never grow old. And that you would always live in affluent circumstances and never become destitute, as words of Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, are:" And it would be announced to them: This is the Paradise. You have been made to inherit it for what you used to do". (VII; 43)
Hadith 2848
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَا تَزَالُ جَهَنَّمُ ، تَقُولُ : هَلْ مِنْ مَزِيدٍ ؟ حَتَّى يَضَعَ فِيهَا رَبُّ الْعِزَّةِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى قَدَمَهُ ، فَتَقُولُ : قَطْ قَطْ وَعِزَّتِكَ وَيُزْوَى بَعْضُهَا إِلَى بَعْضٍ " ،
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said that the Hell would continue to say: Is there anything more, until Allah, the Exalted and High, would place His foot therein and that would say: Enough, enough, by Your Honour, and some parts of it would draw close to the other.
Hadith 2850
حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، وعبد بن حميد ، قَالَ عَبد بن حميد : أَخْبَرَنِي ، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعٌ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " يُدْخِلُ اللَّهُ أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ ، وَيُدْخِلُ أَهْلَ النَّارِ النَّارَ ، ثُمَّ يَقُومُ مُؤَذِّنٌ بَيْنَهُمْ ، فَيَقُولُ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ : لَا مَوْتَ ، وَيَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ : لَا مَوْتَ كُلٌّ خَالِدٌ فِيمَا هُوَ فِيهِ " .
'Abdullah reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Allah would admit the inmates of Paradise into Paradise and the inmates of Hell into Hell. Then the announcer would stand between them and say: O inmates of Paradise, there is no death for you,O inmates of Hell, there is no death for you. You would live for ever therein.
Hadith 2856
حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، وَحَسَنٌ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ عَبد بن حميد : أَخْبَرَنِي ، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ ، يَقُولُ : إِنَّ الْبَحِيرَةَ الَّتِي يُمْنَعُ دَرُّهَا لِلطَّوَاغِيتِ ، فَلَا يَحْلُبُهَا أَحَدٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ ، وَأَمَّا السَّائِبَةُ الَّتِي كَانُوا يُسَيِّبُونَهَا لِآلِهَتِهِمْ ، فَلَا يُحْمَلُ عَلَيْهَا شَيْءٌ ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " رَأَيْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ عَامِرٍ الْخُزَاعِيَّ يَجُرُّ قُصْبَهُ فِي النَّارِ ، وَكَانَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ سَيَّبَ السُّيُوبَ " .
Sa'id bin Musayyib explained" al-bahira" as that animal which is not milked but for the idols. and none amongst the people milks them, and" as-sa'iba" as that animal which is let loose for the deities. Nothing is loaded over it, and Ibn Musayyib narrated that Abu Hurairah (RA) stated that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: I saw 'Amr bin 'Amir al-Khuzili dragging his intestines in fire and he was the first who devoted animals to deity.
Hadith 2857
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ نَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْعَقَدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَفْلَحُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَافِعٍ مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنْ طَالَتْ بِكَ مُدَّةٌ أَوْشَكْتَ أَنْ تَرَى قَوْمًا يَغْدُونَ فِي سَخَطِ اللَّهِ ، وَيَرُوحُونَ فِي لَعْنَتِهِ فِي أَيْدِيهِمْ مِثْلُ أَذْنَابِ الْبَقَرِ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: If you live for a time, you would certainly see people get up (in the morning) in the wrath of Allah and getting into the evening under the curse of Allah, and there would be in their hands (whips) like the tail of an ox.
Hadith 2862
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْمُسَيَّبِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عِيَاضٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ مَيْسَرَةَ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ ، وَعِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ عَنْ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْنٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو نَصْرٍ التَّمَّارُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا الْحُلْوَانِيُّ , وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ كُلُّ هَؤُلَاءِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ غَيْرَ أَنَّ فِي حَدِيثِ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ وَصَالِحٍ ، حَتَّى يَغِيبَ أَحَدُهُمْ فِي رَشْحِهِ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ أُذُنَيْهِ .
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Ibn 'Umar but with a slight variation of wording (and the words are):" One of them would be completely submerged in perspiration up to half of his ears."
Hadith 2866
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا مَاتَ الرَّجُلُ عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ مَقْعَدُهُ بِالْغَدَاةِ وَالْعَشِيِّ ، إِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَالْجَنَّةُ ، وَإِنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ النَّارِ فَالنَّارُ ، قَالَ : ثُمَّ يُقَالُ : هَذَا مَقْعَدُكَ الَّذِي تُبْعَثُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
Ibn 'Umar (RA) reported that Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) said: When a person dies, he is shown his seat morning and evening. If he is one amongst the inmates of Paradise (he is shown his seat) in Paradise and if he is one amongst the denizens of Hell-Fire (he is shown his seat) in the Hell-Fire. Then it is said to him: That is your seat where you would be sent on the Day of Resurrection.
Hadith 2870
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا وُضِعَ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُ أَصْحَابُهُ ، إِنَّهُ لَيَسْمَعُ قَرْعَ نِعَالِهِمْ ، قَالَ : يَأْتِيهِ مَلَكَانِ فَيُقْعِدَانِهِ ، فَيَقُولَانِ لَهُ : مَا كُنْتَ تَقُولُ فِي هَذَا الرَّجُلِ ؟ ، قَالَ : فَأَمَّا الْمُؤْمِنُ ، فَيَقُولُ : أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولُهُ ، قَالَ : فَيُقَالُ لَهُ : انْظُرْ إِلَى مَقْعَدِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ ، قَدْ أَبْدَلَكَ اللَّهُ بِهِ مَقْعَدًا مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ ، قَالَ : نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَيَرَاهُمَا جَمِيعًا " ، قَالَ قَتَادَةُ : وَذُكِرَ لَنَا أَنَّهُ يُفْسَحُ لَهُ فِي قَبْرِهِ سَبْعُونَ ذِرَاعًا ، وَيُمْلَأُ عَلَيْهِ خَضِرًا إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) having said: When the servant is placed in his grave and his companions retrace their steps arid he hears the noise of the footsteps, then two angels come to him and make him sit and say to him: What you have to say about this person (the Holy Prophet)? If he is d believer, lie would say: I bear testimony to the fact that he is a servant of Allali and His Messenger. Then it would be said to him: Look to your seat in the Hell- Fire, for Allah has substituted (the seat of yours) with a seat in Paradise. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: He would be shown both the seats. Qatada said: It was mentioned to us that his grave (the grave of a believer) expands to seventy cubits and is full with verdure until the Day when they would be resurrected.
Hadith 2885
وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Zuhri with the same chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2886
حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، وَالْحَسَنُ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ َعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ : أَخْبَرَنِي ، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أن أبا هريرة ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " سَتَكُونُ فِتَنٌ الْقَاعِدُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْقَائِمِ ، وَالْقَائِمُ فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْمَاشِي ، وَالْمَاشِي فِيهَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ السَّاعِي ، مَنْ تَشَرَّفَ لَهَا تَسْتَشْرِفُهُ ، وَمَنْ وَجَدَ فِيهَا مَلْجَأً فَلْيَعُذْ بِهِ " ،
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: There will be soon a period of turmoil in which the one who sits will be better than one who stands and the one who stands will be better than one who walks and the one who walks will be better than one who runs. He who would watch them will be drawn by them. So he who finds a refuge or shelter against it should make it as his resort.
Hadith 2886
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، وَالْحَسَنُ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ : أَخْبَرَنِي ، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُطِيعِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، عَنْ نَوْفَلِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ هَذَا ، إِلَّا أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ يَزِيدُ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ صَلَاةٌ مَنْ ، فَاتَتْهُ فَكَأَنَّمَا وُتِرَ أَهْلَهُ وَمَالَهُ .
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) but with this variation of wording that in the hadith transmitted on the authority of Abu Bakr, there is an addition of these words: "There is a prayer among prayers ('Asr) and one who misses it is as if his family and property have been ruined."
Hadith 2906
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، قَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حميد : أَخْبَرَنَا ، وقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ ابْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تَضْطَرِبَ أَلَيَاتُ نِسَاءِ دَوْسٍ حَوْلَ ذِي الْخَلَصَةِ ، وَكَانَتْ صَنَمًا تَعْبُدُهَا دَوْسٌ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ بِتَبَالَةَ " .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: The Last Hour would not come until the women of the tribe of Daus would be seen going round Dhi al-Khalasa (for worship) and Dhi al-Khalasa is a place in Tabala, where there was a temple in which the people of the tribe of Daus used to worship the idol.
Hadith 2918
وحَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ . ح وحَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِإِسْنَادِ سُفْيَانَ وَمَعْنَى حَدِيثِهِ .
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Zuhri.
Hadith 2930
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : انْطَلَقَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَهُ رَهْطٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ ، فِيهِمْ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ، حَتَّى وَجَدَ ابْنَ صَيَّادٍ غُلَامًا قَدْ نَاهَزَ الْحُلُمَ يَلْعَبُ مَعَ الْغِلْمَانِ عِنْدَ أُطُمِ بَنِي مُعَاوِيَةَ ، وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ يُونُسَ إِلَى مُنْتَهَى حَدِيثِ عُمَرَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ أُبَيٌّ يَعْنِي فِي قَوْلِهِ : لَوْ تَرَكَتْهُ بَيَّنَ ، قَالَ : لَوْ تَرَكَتْهُ أُمُّهُ بَيَّنَ أَمْرَهُ ،
Abdullah b. Umar reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) went along with him in the company of some persons and there was Umar b. Khattab also amongst them till they saw Ibn Sayyad as a young boy just on the threshold of adolescence playing with children near the battlement of Bani Mu'awiya; the rest of the hadith is the same but with these concluding words:" Had his mother left him (to murmur) his matter would have become clear."
Hadith 2930
وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، وَسَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِابْنِ صَيَّادٍ فِي نَفَرٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ ، فِيهِمْ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ وَهُوَ يَلْعَبُ مَعَ الْغِلْمَانِ عِنْدَ أُطُمِ بَنِي مَغَالَةَ وَهُوَ غُلَامٌ بِمَعْنَى حَدِيثِ يُونُسَ وَصَالِحٍ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّ عَبْدَ بْنَ حُمَيْدٍ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ حَدِيثَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، فِي انْطِلَاقِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَعَ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ إِلَى النَّخْلِ .
Ibn 'Umar reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) happened to pass by Ibn Sayyad along with his Companions including 'Umar b. Khattab as he was playing with children near the battlement of Bani Maghala and he was also a child by that time. The rest of the hadith is the same as narrated by Ibn Umar (in which there is a mention of) setting out of Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) along with Ubayy b. Ka'b towards the date-palm trees.
Hadith 2932
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، قَالَ : لَقِيَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ ابْنَ صَائِدٍ فِي بَعْضِ طُرُقِ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَقَالَ لَهُ قَوْلًا أَغْضَبَهُ ، فَانْتَفَخَ حَتَّى مَلَأَ السِّكَّةَ ، فَدَخَلَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ عَلَى حَفْصَةَ وَقَدْ بَلَغَهَا ، فَقَالَتْ لَهُ : رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ مَا أَرَدْتَ مِنْ ابْنِ صَائِدٍ ، أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّمَا يَخْرُجُ مِنْ غَضْبَةٍ يَغْضَبُهَا " .
Nafi' reported that Ibn 'Umar met Ibn Si'id on some of the paths of Madinah and he said to him a word which enraged him and he was so much swollen with anger that the way was blocked. Ibn 'Umar went to Hafsa and informed her about this. Thereupon she said: May Allah have mercy upon you, why did you incite Ibn Sayyad in spite of the fact that you knew it would be the extreme anger which would make Dajjal appear in the world?
Hadith 2938
حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ ، وَالْحَسَنُ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ وَأَلْفَاظُهُمْ مُتَقَارِبَةٌ ، وَالسِّيَاقُ لِعَبْدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي ، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمًا حَدِيثًا طَوِيلًا عَنِ الدَّجَّالِ ، فَكَانَ فِيمَا حَدَّثَنَا ، قَالَ : " يَأْتِي وَهُوَ مُحَرَّمٌ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ نِقَابَ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَيَنْتَهِي إِلَى بَعْضِ السِّبَاخِ الَّتِي تَلِي الْمَدِينَةَ ، فَيَخْرُجُ إِلَيْهِ يَوْمَئِذٍ رَجُلٌ هُوَ خَيْرُ النَّاسِ ، أَوْ مِنْ خَيْرِ النَّاسِ ، فَيَقُولُ لَهُ : أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ الدَّجَّالُ الَّذِي حَدَّثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثَهُ ؟ ، فَيَقُولُ الدَّجَّالُ : أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ قَتَلْتُ هَذَا ثُمَّ أَحْيَيْتُهُ أَتَشُكُّونَ فِي الْأَمْرِ ؟ ، فَيَقُولُونَ : لَا ، قَالَ : فَيَقْتُلُهُ ثُمَّ يُحْيِيهِ ، فَيَقُولُ : حِينَ يُحْيِيهِ وَاللَّهِ مَا كُنْتُ فِيكَ قَطُّ أَشَدَّ بَصِيرَةً مِنِّي الْآنَ ، قَالَ : فَيُرِيدُ الدَّجَّالُ أَنْ يَقْتُلَهُ ، فَلَا يُسَلَّطُ عَلَيْهِ ، قَالَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ : يُقَالُ إِنَّ هَذَا الرَّجُلَ هُوَ الْخَضِرُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام " ،
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) one day gave a detailed account of the Dajjal and in that it was also included: He would come but would not be allowed to enter the mountain passes to Madinah. So he will alight at some of the barren tracts near Madinah, and a person who would be the best of men or one from amongst the best of men would say to him: I bear testimony to the fact that you are Dajjal about whom Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had informed us. The Dajjal would say: What is your opinion if I kill this (person), then I bring him back to life; even then will you harbour doubt in this matter? They would say: No. He would then kill (the man) and then bring him back to life. When he would bring tha@ person to life, he would say: By Allah, I had no better proof of the fact (that you are a Dajjal) than at the present time (that you are actually so). The Dajjal would then make an attempt to kill him (again) but he would not be able to do that.
Hadith 2945
وحَدَّثَنَاه مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Ibn Juraij with the same chain of transmitters.
Hadith 2961
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الدَّارِمِيُّ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ كِلَاهُمَا ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ بِإِسْنَادِ يُونُسَ ، وَمِثْلِ حَدِيثِهِ غَيْرَ أَنَّ فِي حَدِيثِ صَالِحٍ ، وَتُلْهِيَكُمْ كَمَا أَلْهَتْهُمْ .
This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Zuhri as reported by Yunus with a slight variation of wording.
Hadith 2990
حَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، قَالَ وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميدٍ : حَدَّثَنِي ، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَخِي ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ سَالِمٌ ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " كُلُّ أُمَّتِي مُعَافَاةٌ إِلَّا الْمُجَاهِرِينَ ، وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْإِجْهَارِ أَنْ يَعْمَلَ الْعَبْدُ بِاللَّيْلِ عَمَلًا ، ثُمَّ يُصْبِحُ قَدْ سَتَرَهُ رَبُّهُ ، فَيَقُولُ يَا فُلَانُ : قَدْ عَمِلْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، وَقَدْ بَاتَ يَسْتُرُهُ رَبُّهُ ، فَيَبِيتُ يَسْتُرُهُ رَبُّهُ ، وَيُصْبِحُ يَكْشِفُ سِتْرَ اللَّهِ عَنْهُ " ، قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ : وَإِنَّ مِنَ الْهِجَارِ .
Abu Hurairah (RA) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: All the people of my Ummah would get pardon for their sins except those who publicise them. And (it means) that a servant should do a deed during the night and tell the people in the morning that he has done so and so, whereas Allah has concealed it. And he does a deed during the day and when it is night he tells the people, whereas Allah has concealed it. Zuhair has used the word jihar for publicising.
Hadith 2996
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حميد ، قَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حميدٍ : أَخْبَرَنَا ، وقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " خُلِقَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ مِنْ نُورٍ ، وَخُلِقَ الْجَانُّ مِنْ مَارِجٍ مِنْ نَارٍ ، وَخُلِقَ آدَمُ مِمَّا وُصِفَ لَكُمْ " .
'A'isha reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: The Angels were born out of light and the Jinns were born out of the spark of fire and Adam ؑwas born as he has been defined (in the Qur'an) for you (i. e. he is fashioned out of clay).
Hadith 3016
حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ النَّاقِدُ ، وَالْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ : حَدَّثَنِي ، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ يَعْنُونَ ابْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ كَيْسَانَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ " أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ تَابَعَ الْوَحْيَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبْلَ وَفَاتِهِ حَتَّى تُوُفِّيَ ، وَأَكْثَرُ مَا كَانَ الْوَحْيُ يَوْمَ تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " .
Anas bin Malik (RA) reported that Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, sent revelation to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) just before his death in quick succession until he left for his heavenly home, and the day when he died, he received the revelation profusely.
Hadith 3017
وحَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُمَيْسٍ ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ ، عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ الْيَهُودِ إِلَى عُمَرَ ، فَقَالَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ " آيَةٌ فِي كِتَابِكُمْ تَقْرَءُونَهَا لَوْ عَلَيْنَا نَزَلَتْ مَعْشَرَ الْيَهُودِ لَاتَّخَذْنَا ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمَ عِيدًا ، قَالَ : وَأَيُّ آيَةٍ ؟ ، قَالَ : الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الإِسْلامَ دِينًا سورة المائدة آية 3 ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ الْيَوْمَ الَّذِي نَزَلَتْ فِيهِ ، وَالْمَكَانَ الَّذِي نَزَلَتْ فِيهِ ، نَزَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعَرَفَاتٍ فِي يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ " .
Tariq bin Shihab reported that a Jew came to 'Umar and said: Commander of the Faithful, there is a verse in your Book, which you recite. Had it been revealed in connection with the Jews, we would have taken it as the day of rejoicing. Thereupon he said: Which verse do you mean? He replied: "This day I have perfected your religion for you and I have completed My favours upon you and I have chosen al-Islam as religion for you." Umar said, I know the day when it was revealed and the place where it was revealed. It was revealed to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) at 'Arafat on Friday.
Hadith 3018
وحَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ جَمِيعًا ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عَائِشَةَ عَنْ قَوْلِ اللَّهِ وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلَّا تُقْسِطُوا فِي الْيَتَامَى سورة النساء آية 3 ، وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ يُونُسَ ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَزَادَ فِي آخِرِهِ ، مِنْ أَجْلِ رَغْبَتِهِمْ عَنْهُنَّ إِذَا كُنَّ قَلِيلَاتِ الْمَالِ وَالْجَمَالِ .
'Urwa reported that he asked 'A'isha about the words of Allah: "If you fear that you will not be able to observe equity in case of orphan girls" ; the rest of the hadith is the same but with a slight variation of wording.
Hadith 3024
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، وَهَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، وَعَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ : أَخْبَرَنَا ، وقَالَ الْآخَرَانِ : حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عُمَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ بْنِ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ لِي ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : تَعْلَمُ ، وَقَالَ هَارُونُ : تَدْرِي آخِرَ سُورَةٍ نَزَلَتْ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ نَزَلَتْ جَمِيعًا ؟ ، قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ إِذَا جَاءَ نَصْرُ اللَّهِ وَالْفَتْحُ سورة النصر آية 1 ، قَالَ : صَدَقْتَ ، وَفِي رِوَايَةِ ابْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ تَعْلَمُ أَيُّ سُورَةٍ ، وَلَمْ يَقُلْ آخِرَ ،
Ubaidullah bin 'Abdullah bin 'Utba reported: Ibn Abbas (RA) said to me: Do you know-and in the words of Harun (another narrator): Are you aware of-the last Sura which was revealed in the Qur'an as a whole? I said: Yes, "When came the help from Allah and the victory" (cx.). Thereupon, he said: You have told the truth. And in the narration of Abu Shaiba (the words are): Do you know the Sura? And he did not mention the words "the last one".
