It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Hafsah (may Allah be pleased with her) that I said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): The people have ended their state of ihram, but you have not ended your ihram after performing ‘Umrah? So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “I have applied talbeed to my head (talbeed means to stick the hair of the head together with gum or the saliva of marshmallow, etc., so that the hair does not become disheveled) and I have garlanded my sacrificial animal, so I will not end my ihram until I have performed the sacrifice.”
