بَابُ صَلَاةِ الْمُسَافِرِ إِذَا كَانَ إِمَامًا أَوْ كَانَ وَرَاءَ إِمَامٍPrayer of the traveler as Imam or behind an Imam
Hadith 346
حَدَّثَنِي حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ كَانَ إِذَا قَدِمَ مَكَّةَ صَلَّى بِهِمْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمّ يَقُولُ : " يَا أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ أَتِمُّوا صَلَاتَكُمْ فَإِنَّا قَوْمٌ سَفْرٌ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) came from Madinah to Makkah, he would lead the congregation in two rak'ahs and then say salam. Then he would say: O people of Makkah! Complete your prayer because we are travelers.
