بَابُ مَا تَجِبُ فِيهِ الْكَفَّارَةُ مِنَ الْأَيْمَانِOaths that require expiation
Hadith 1020B1
قَالَ يَحْيَى : وَسَمِعْتُ مَالِكًا، يَقُولُ : مَنْ قَالَ : عَلَيَّ نَذْرٌ، وَلَمْ يُسَمِّ شَيْئًا إِنَّ عَلَيْهِ كَفَّارَةَ يَمِينٍ.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Whoever says, "I have taken a vow upon myself," and does not specify what the vow is for, then the expiation for an oath is obligatory upon him.
