قال ابن وهب وأخبرني عُمر بن محمد، عن زيد بن أسلم: أنَّ رسول الله ﷺ هنّأَ أبا بكر بإسلام أبيه (1).
It is narrated from Zayd bin Aslam that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) congratulated Sayyiduna Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) on his father's acceptance of Islam.

(1) رجاله ثقات، لكنه مرسلٌ. عمر بن محمد هو ابن زيد بن عبد الله بن عمر بن الخطاب.
Grading: (1) Its narrators are thiqah, but this narration is "mursal".
Technical note / Defect ('illah): 'Umar bin Muhammad (in the chain) is "'Umar bin Muhammad bin Zayd bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar bin al-Khattab".
وأخرجه البيهقي في "دلائل النبوة" 5/ 96 عن أبي عبد الله الحاكم، بهذا الإسناد.
Reference / Source: And Imam al-Bayhaqi narrated it in "Dala'il al-Nubuwwah" [5/ 96] from Abu 'Abdullah al-Hakim with this same chain.
