Benefits:
The aforementioned hadith establishes the greatness and virtue of the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam.
➊ ... He was sent to the red and the black, meaning the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam was sent as a Prophet to all people; he is a Prophet for Arabs and non-Arabs, East and West, for everyone without distinction or discrimination. Allah the Exalted says:
﴿قُلْ یٰٓا أَ یُّهَا النَّاسُ اِنِّیْ رَسُوْلُ اللّٰہِ اِلَیْكُمْ جَمِیْعَا نِالَّذِیْ لَہٗ مُلْكُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ ﴾ () ... "Say: O mankind! I am indeed the Messenger of Allah to you all, [of Him] to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth."
➋ Awe at a distance of three months’ journey, meaning that even the great power of Rome at that time was fearful. It is understood from this that the entire earth has been made a place of prostration for the Ummah of Muhammad. Previously, the Jews and Christians could only pray in their places of worship; for them, worship was not valid anywhere else. Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, bestowed a favor upon the Ummah of Muhammad that they can worship not only in the mosque but wherever they wish, except for a few places regarding which there is clarification in the hadiths.
As the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: ((اَلْاَرْضُ کُلُّهَا مَسْجِدٌ اِلَّا الْمَقْبَرَةَ وَالْحَمَّامِ)) (Sunan Abi Dawud, no. 492; Sunan Ibn Majah, no. 745) ... "The whole earth is a mosque except for graveyards and bathhouses."
➌ In previous communities, there was no command for tayammum (dry ablution). Allah, the Possessor of Majesty, bestowed this favor upon this Ummah that if there is no water, then perform tayammum.
Allah the Exalted says:
﴿فَلَمْ تَجِدُوْا مَآءً فَتَیَمَّمُوْا صَعِیْدًا طَیِّبًا﴾ () ... "If you do not find water, then perform tayammum with clean earth."
➍ The spoils of war (mal-e-ghanīmah) refers to the wealth obtained after fighting and gaining victory over the disbelievers. For previous communities, this was forbidden; they would gather all the wealth obtained from the disbelievers after the battle in one place, then a fire would descend from the sky and consume it. But for the Ummah of Muhammad, the spoils of war have been made lawful.
➎ It is understood that on the Day of Resurrection, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam will intercede for his Ummah. It also establishes the Prophet’s sallallahu alayhi wa sallam deep concern and love for his Ummah, as he was given the choice of supplication, but he did not use it for himself or his relatives; rather, he reserved this supplication as a treasure for his Ummah.
➏ It is understood that intercession will not benefit the polytheist. As narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah radi Allahu anhu, the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said: "The most fortunate people to benefit from my intercession on the Day of Resurrection will be those who sincerely declare 'La ilaha illallah' (There is no god but Allah)." (Bukhari, Book of Knowledge, Chapter: Eagerness for Hadith)
Sayyiduna Nuh alayhis salam’s son was a polytheist, so the intercession of Sayyiduna Nuh alayhis salam was rejected. (See Surah Hud: 45–47)
In Sahih Bukhari, it is mentioned that Sayyiduna Ibrahim alayhis salam will pray for his polytheist father, but intercession will not benefit the father. (Bukhari, Book of the Beginning of Creation, Chapter: The Saying of Allah the Exalted ﴿And Allah took Ibrahim as a friend﴾).
